Everyone contributes to the Linux kernel. Large companies like Google pay full-time kernel engineers to work on Linux.
It's because everyone uses Linux. The only place that Linux hasn't dominated is consumer/pleb PCs, everything else is completely dominated by Linux: supercomputers, servers, embedded, smartphone, containers, etc.
It just means Microsoft uses Linux, while selling Windows.
