Between Python and C#, which is easiest?

What is the difference between laser rangefinders and LIDARs?

Do you want to develop exclusively for Windows 10?

Why does skyrim run at silky-smooth 60 fps, but any fallout game, made by same developer, run at sand paper 60 fps?

from time to time my pc doesnt turn on or shut down and dont want to power on.
I have to take out the rams and put them in again, and the PC starts working again.

Is it a RAM problem? Is it a Motherboard problem?
If I buy 2x4gb extra and place them in slot 1-3 and my actual rams I place them in 2-4, could it still failing to power on?

How much energy is saved when you switch your desktop computer energy profile from "balanced" to "power saver" in the power options? Anyone have one of those Kill A Watt devices and tried it themselves?

I'm thinking about the pros and cons of leaving my desktop running 24/7 to maximize hardware life and value.

I like to dump porn, but sometimes I end up running into a lot of duplicate images. Does Sup Forums have any recommendations for software to help check for duplicate or similar images in a given directory?

Also full version of

What a coincidence, I was just thinking about how I should always have someone out driving my car so that it'll last longer.

Run memtest
Upgrade your BIOS

Is there a non botnet browser?

All that does is suspend your PC, or turn off your monitors. It doesnt actually run in low voltage mode.

I have those kill a watt things, its awesome, and only $14. My entire setup idles at 220 watts including 2 monitors.

Netscape

what?

What's the point of private trackers?

Why is rutracker so much better than any English language public tracking torrent site?

Is the Raspberry Pi 3 the best deal at it's price/power consumption level?

It's like living in a gated communtity. You can require that everyone who's accepted meet certain standards, contribute, and not break certain rules. If they mess up, you can give em the boot

I thought they turned into firefox before Bill bought them?

I'm not sure that's what Pi owners really care about.

I want to connect my internet cable to my ethernet one so I get direct connection because my router died and my pc on works on cable. What is that little box called, where I plug both of them.

Modem

And you'll probably have to get a new one from the cable company.

Best SmartWatch that's $150 or less?

I've considered getting the Sony SmartWatch 3 only because I have a Sony Xperia Z5 Premium but I'm open to other suggestions, preferably with a pedometer built in.

I'm seriously contemplating switching web-based e-mails.

For my personal e-mail, I've been using the same Hotmail account that I've been using for the last 16 years. It used to be good, but now it's bloated to shit and I don't like it.

I actually quite like Gmail function-wise, and I use it quite a lot for work (the company e-mail runs on Gmail too). However, the only thing I don't like about it is that it's jewgle, and I don't like their Orwellian practices.

What else can I use? I would definitely like something that is fast/lightweight, and won't get creepy on me.

>get live usb of ubuntu/debian
>plug into computer
>boot into it and pull up a terminal
>sudo -i to enter root of machine
>dd if=/dev/zero (or urandom if time permits it) of=/dev/sda bs=1M
>machine gets wrecked

so my question is that will this work on other computers or only on linux distros?

or is rm -rf / --no-preserve-root more effective at fucking people shit's up?

Ok. But that doesn't really answer my question

I can's just get something that would allow me to connect the internet cable with my pc? Is it really necessary to have a modem/router?

prove Sup Forums doesnt save all Sup Forums users posts

What do you mean by "internet cable"? Does it look the same as your ethernet? Is it round with a pin in the middle?

That would take a shitton of storage and for what? Archives do it for free*
*Not taking in consideration the cost of servers maintance and storage.

>urandom if time permits it
Writing random numbers does nothing more against data retrieval than zeroing.

dd will work on any OS that's installed to /dev/sda. rm -rf would more likely affect your liveusb.

Its not always the case, but you probably have a modem from your cable company. They won't have one that allows you to do what you're asking. The best case for this situation is cable -->modem -->ethernet cable --> computer. That weill get you the fastest speeds.

They probably do save all the text, just because that's like nothing to them. Only reason they wouldn't is if it's a legal liability

It looks just like an ethernet cable, with a pin that clicks when plugged in.

What does it go to?

Is it an ethernet cable then? Plug it in the computer and see if it works.

i need a free program that corrects grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, all that, preferably something that work on everything in windows, but just firefox would be good enough, i have tried grammarly... it sucks

so basically this little 1GB usb I have now has the touch of computer death if they made the mistake of installing to /dev/sda (which I believe is the default of most distros, if not at least I'll get something in the slot)?

does windows default install to /dev/sda? mac os?

i'm just so fascinated at the thought that this shitty usb I got for free from a marketing shill can obliterate entire systems if given the chance

it's like a pocket nuke of sorts

That's the problem and that's why I'm asking this, the place where the router was is in the living room to keep all the rooms with signal, and my desktop is very far away, that's why it has a long ethernet cable that goes through the walls to one of the ports of the router. Now since the router no longer works, I need something to connect the cables to I get internet while the new router arrives. I didn't received any modem because when I got my internet plan I bought my own router.

The order of your /dev/ devices is dependent on the order in which they were detected by the OS. It's not like Windows where you permanently assign drive letters. What is /dev/sda now, may be /dev/sdb on the next boot.

Of course, that's why physical access = comprised machine, most of the time. You'd still need to have access to the boot menu or BIOS, which can be locked down in some extreme cases.

And really, being able to wipe a device is nothing compared to a rubber ducky type attack or even badusb.

You're leaving out important information. The internet cable that you have- what does it go to? If it's a device, give me a model number

You should be able to do this with an ethernet cable. Although, I would consider getting a wireless card for the desktop. Makes life a little easier.

Also, what is Secure Boot?
What is a live CD?
Using boot media to fuck with systems isn't really much of a big deal.

If I'm connected to a VPN using OpenVPN, can I just run the tor browser without my ISP knowing I'm using tor?

They'll know you're using a TOR browser, but they can't see anything you're doing with it.

Even with the VPN? Does the TOR browser go around the VPN?

oh ok, I guess that makes it a bit tricky.

But surely the live usb could still irreversibly damage things if I leave it at sda, or would it just return with an error?

that's true, it really isn't as elegant or l33t. And that's what fascinates me about it: a nearly computer-illiterate faggot like me can just stick it into any usb slot and let it run without any of the bells and whistles while getting critically savage results

wiping a machine in many ways is still pretty devastating no matter how anyone looks at it

but then again yeah, like what you and said a secure or protected boot could easily stop this

most people don't really have that kind of thing from what I've seen, but still

Visipics.
I think Odroid-C2 is usually the alternative that people use if they want something more powerful, but there are tons of options. Pi's are awesome because of the huge community supporting it, a C2 is probably going to be your next best bet, past that, know what you're doing.
Khan Academy.

Anyone knows how many domain names Twitter owns? Almost every not-completely-irrelevant site seems to have its own unique short domain name in Twitter posts. Or are these even registered by Twitter?

is dual booting windows 8 and ubuntu a bad idea?

No. If you are using a VPN, everything that uses the device the VPN lives on goes through the VPN. Including the TOR. A VPN would just make it look like your TOR starts in another location. Usually irrelevant anyway as it is so hard to trace back the start of a TOR anyway.

Right so my local ISP will only see the VPN connection? I won't look as sus as a TOR user.

>Visipics

Alright, good shit. Thanks user.

Also, nice trips.

I have two questions Sup Forums

How can I use my android phone more privacy?(model samsung j7)

And how can I disable ads on all android browsers and malware applications??

>But surely the live usb could still irreversibly damage things if I leave it at sda, or would it just return with an error?

There's always a /dev/sda on normal PCs, but which drive it may be is a different story. So yes, setting it to /dev/sda will fuck up "something", but what that is, is sort of a crap shoot. But, /dev/sda IS a good bet.

#!/usr/bin/env bash

## Only attempt to write to devices that are known to exist.
if [ -e /dev/sda ]; then dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda; fi
if [ -e /dev/sdb ]; then dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdb; fi
if [ -e /dev/sdc ]; then dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdc; fi

Do this for sda, sdb, and any other sd's your mischevious heart desires in a bash script.

Does using a VPN before TOR make your shit visible to your VPN provider?

I don't think it goes to any device, I think it's more like a telephone cable that goes along with all the others in this commie block.
How am I supposed to use the wireless card if I don't have the router?

Google has made it their mission in life to make both of these things as difficult as possible.

If you need to come here to ask, it may be above your pay grade to even attempt such things.

LIDAR is a type of laser rangefinder. LIDAR uses a pulsed/oscillating/flashing laser. Not all laser rangefinders use LIDAR.

Can someone tell me what to install in order to run this and how to install it? I have Python and that's it. The prerequisites instruct me to use pip to install them which I try to install using Chocolatey and it hangs on "Installing Python using chocolatey. Wait."

just please help f.am

VPN's are a different story. It depends on the VPN's encryption protocol and its hard to tell if an ISP can see a TOR through a VPN. I know a lot of ISP's can see the TOR browser itself, but can't see anything you're doing in it.

I think some VPN's could hide a TOR browser, but I can't say for sure. Someone on here would probably know.

thanks senpai

i have become death destroyer of worlds

I forgot a couple things.

#!/usr/bin/env bash

## Only attempt to write to devices that are known to exist.
if [ -e /dev/sda ]; then dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda bs=4M; fi
if [ -e /dev/sdb ]; then dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdb bs=4M; fi
if [ -e /dev/sdc ]; then dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdc bs=4M; fi

exit 0

Nothing in a TOR is visible to anyone. That's why people put up with how terrible and slow they are. TOR's can be detected, but can't be decrypted.

Skyrim does not have to render multiple giant 15 story office buildings and nuclear explosions. Skyrim is mostly flat land with some trees and shit. Fallout has densely packed city's.

any resources i should look up on making an online education platform over webrtc?

fair enough

thanks mate

Go into the BIOS and make sure your memory voltages, latencies, and frequencies are set correctly.

Alright thanks senpai

Is it an actual telephone cable? Like an ethernet cable but more square at the end?

deepdotweb.com/jolly-rogers-security-guide-for-beginners/combining-tor-with-a-vpn/

So.. what do?
Google is fine sometimes but all applications can't work without internet. I just want to do simple thing but these ads fucking pop-up and they don't let me do it. Smart phone huh? Well i just install firefox to disable ads and stupid tracking shit at least for internet. Then i am planing to use vpn.

I think it is, it's smaller than the ethernet.
I hope this image clarifies what I want, imagine the router gone.

>wiping a machine in many ways is still pretty devastating no matter how anyone looks at it
It really isn't though. Anything that is unimportant enough to not back up is, well, unimportant.

am i wrong in saying USB-C has a built in voltage regulator?

Just fucking plug it directly into your computer. If it does not work automatically then try dicking around with PPPoE and see if your ISP requires you use a username/password combo for the connection.

As I said, I can't move my pc to the cable since it's not enough space, but I think that's what I'm looking for, thanks for the help

"using a VPN does hide your internet activity from your internet service provider. It can also hide the fact that you are using TOR, which may flag some suspicion when the feds start asking ISPs to provide data about their users."

"The VPN would not be able to see what data you are sending over TOR unless they decrypted it"

Perfect thanks.

>so my question is that will this work on other computers?

Yes

Replace /dev/sda with what ever hard drive/partition your intending to overwrite.

It will not work on machines with crazy ass proprietary disk drivers and secureboot shenanigans.

It sounds like you have a phone line coming in. This means that you NEED a modem, and really if you're not planning on having two separate units, it should also have routing ability (they call the combo a gateway) for security purposes. You won't be able to do anything until you get one. See if your isp will let you lease if you don't want to buy

Is there a universal way to capture decoded audio without losing quality?

I mean, if I play something from any source, that means at some point data has to be decoded and passed to the audio driver (right?). Is it possible to write your own driver that fakes being a speaker and saves captured data into something?

Some machines in secure environments don't even have exposed USB ports. The ports are either filled with epoxy/glue or the headers/ports are pulled right off the board.

No, why should it be?

Since Python 3 point something Pip is bundled with the installer. So check if you already have it, if not try reinstalling Python.

Install python then download all the files from github. Run the server.py then access its services from your web browser. Also it looks like you need an nvidia GPU that supports CUDA.

If it's an RJ11 connector then you need some form of modem, or router with a built in modem.

That's an ass backwards/roundabout way of doing things. Just intercept the audio file before it gets played.

How do I use my keyboard to navigate google search results?

Well goddamit, I'll just tether my mobile data to the pc in the meantime. Thanks for all of you who helped me!

But I want the universal way. You can't intercept audio from, say, Spotify player. It's encrypted and shit.

What happens if I set Common Lisp's read table to something like NIL?

just run it in a VM and dump the audio coming out of the VM on the host machine
kind of like the analog loophole only kept digital

Wouldn't VM encode its output audio?

you mean would it use a lossy codec? why would it do that? that's just a waste of cpu time

Scratch that. I don't think there's reason it would do that. Still, my way doesn't involve a VM and it's almost the same thing.

help? anyone know if this already exists so i can learn from it?

What's the best Window Manager for a newbie? Also what distro makes the best base? Any good guides for getting started?
