People REALLY NEED 1 - 10tb for personal use

>people REALLY NEED 1 - 10tb for personal use
>i can barely fill 75 - 100 gigs

do you even anime

keeping videos for the future is generally autistic. just watch them one and discard them. what are you gonna do, open a video club 1980s style?

there is so much shit in this world to watch that watching something more than once is pure stupidity.

the average blu ray is 50 gbs

Content creation. Footage, images, working projects, and especially 3D models are huge.

3d models are tiny

That means you're data impoverished.
We've all got hard drives full of movies, tv shows, music, etc.
Why? Well because...
We never have to worry about losing internet connectivity to use our data.
We never have to worry about legal difficulties a cloud-hosting provider or media streaming service might run into that might deprive us of the content we want to see.
We have no restrictions for what media can play on what device and where.
Hard drives are cheaper than they have ever been.
Need I go on?

I've tried messing around with audio production for a few months. Softwares, samples and everything can easily eat up hundres of gigs.

what if I plan to watch some with my kids
or my future wife
or with family
or online with friends
or just for nostalgia

I'm a collector OP. 10TB is nothing.

4k textures for the model aren't.

This guy also gets it.

>>there is so much shit in this world to watch that watching something more than once is pure stupidity.
people are unironically this novelty-seeking?

You have nothing at all that you like, no favorites, nothing you ever want to watch or listen to again?

I baffles me why anyone would want to live this way.

I have 2TB of music alone.
1080p films are 25-50GB each.
I also take a lot of photos and store them in RAWs.
It all adds up.

I'm running out of space badly.

kys

Star Wars always more than once

you have to go back

>roughly 25TB
>1k 1080p movies
>thousands of episodes of TV

I use RSS in my torrent client to auto-download TV shows and put them in appropriate folder, Kodi scans hourly to bring them in.
Download movies as wanted.

About 6 years of time spent building this, and I do re-watch things and also have friends who use my library (shared over Plex) to watch things.

just your average normie retard that has no taste in anything and spends his free time on fb

10 favorites at most? yeah sure.
3T of favorites? kys bruh

games
>50GB each
anime
>15GB per season
Movies
>5GB each
TV show
>1GB per show

Its like you dont enjoy media. Shit adds up fast. I wish I only needed 1TB. Thats just a fraction.

When one day an unholy alliance of feminist SJWs and moralizing Christian conservatives conspire to wipe porn off the internet, you'll wish you'd have saved some.

but why to keep all that shit?
I just get ride of everything I play or watch and download it again if necessary, which is usually never.

Who the fuck has the time to watch this many movies and TV shows and play so many games?

Even if you do, why would you keep them on the disk after watching them? If you want to watch them again in the future you can just torrent everything again in no time.

this

not even that.
most porn/hentai you get from torrents/direct download only last maybe 3-4 years. after that, it becomes increasingly difficult to find.

so either you'll have to pay for it all or hope it was popular enough that a kind user has it and can reupload it

Most of it is a backlog. When I want to watch a tv series I dont want to wait a few hours for it to download. As far as keeping it, anime has rewatch value and I keep movies because I have friends and a life. Games stay installed.

we get it, you don't like movies, TV show and anime. Since they're the biggest files one would download you don't need more than 1TB. Good for you i guess.

I keep them because i enjoy them and watch them more than once. I usually delete the shit i didn't like. I watch good movies again every two or three years, the series and anime more like every 5 to 10 years. And my favorites a couple of times every year.
I delete at least 60% of what i watch because i know i won't need it again, i still end up with 16 TB of content today.

>you can download it again fast
let me tell you something, you usually can't. Old movies and TV stuff, indie stuff, stuff from other countries, underrated gems and things that aren't generally seen as 'good' are not easy to find, some just disappear with time.

so what, you can't live without storing some old ass tv show from god knows where forever?

there's so much new stuff being produced it's impossible to see it all anyway, how does it feel to be stuck in the past?

>there's so much new stuff being produced it's impossible to see it all anyway
t.bait repost

I don't keep every anime/movie/TV show I watch but my music collection has grown to a sizable amount. About 1tb of FLAC files. I don't have much either, maybe around 30 artists.

You've never liked a TV series that wasn't a popular big-name thing that will always be easy to find? Do you have any taste at all or do you just watch whatever garbage happens to be on at the time?

last time a thread like this was posted
>CAD ghost files
>high resolution textures
>programs and simulation data
>a single part thats about the size of a baseball can make a 10gb file
>larger ones can take up to 40gb of space each
>multiply that by hundreds of files

>1TB ssd for OS, programs, games, ect
>4TB hdd for music, videos, general storage
>4TB hdd for backup

Easy to get 10 TB, and I don't even torrent pile of anime or anything.

I don't watch that much TV, maybe an episode a week, but I can live without storing everything I like on my disk. No big deal if I can't watch it again in the future.

Oh and "independent" movies and TV shows are all garbage. TV and anime in general are timewasting hobbies that bring nothing useful or positive to one's life.

>I DON'T EAT PIZZA!
>WHY DO YOU EAT PIZZA?!

You must be watching watching the real housewives or something because there's plenty of television that is stimulating or at the very least makes you think about some clever ideas/twists in the show. Even if your point is to just waste time that's still a benefit. Sometimes people want to just relax and take a break from every day life.

>I BUY A NEW PHONE EVERY YEAR
>WHY DON'T YOU BUY A NEW PHONE EVERY YEAR

...

autism

I filled 2TB of storage with .AI and .PS files easily. I just ordered a 64 GB memory card for my phone.

>he doesn't have a porn addiction

>collecting
>pirated movies

All you said is irrelevant.

I only keep the stuff I really consider they are worth re-watching, they are not even close to the 10%, the rest, watch and delete, I have 1.5TB and I don't need anything more than that.

Also I'm not an autistic fuck with a 50" screen that needs 50GB dumps of blurays because "muh quality", standard 720p is more than ok, besides for live action and more than 480p for animation is pointless, I watch plenty of old stuff, so the files are not so heavy generally.

Yes, I'll keep Space Ghost Coast to Coast and Max Headroom, but Lost? House MD? The Walking Dead?

No thanks, watch and delete, if ever wanted to re-watch that, there will still be thousands of torrents or it will be available in Netflix or some of that shit.

>pc has 80GB storage
>phone has 4GB storage
>have never even approached the limit
What the fuck are you queers downloading?
Have you heard of offsite storage?

Obviously somebody doesn't download coalgirls releases.

>I don't want it so that means other people who do are autistic

Yes yes we get it you like to watch pleb shit YIFY quality releases. You should go do that instead.

>using 3rd parties
>trusting 3rd parties to handle your data with respect to your freedom
>freedom as in free

>he thinks torrents or netflix will be around 40 years from now

Realistically hough, how long till torrents become obsolete and something else replaces them?

*hough
though

Probably a long time as a concept but thinking a torrent for X show/game will be around in 20-30 years is quite shortsighted. Especially when it could only be a few years before they're criminally banned and actively enforced.

Whoever thinks that things off torrent can be deleted after you're done with them, since you can download them any time later, is simply delusional.

Don't you think this argument is self-defeating, since anyone following this suggestion would become the example of a seeder, that disappears after a given time?

You are

>there is only YIFY or 50GB bluray dumps, nothing in between

sure bud

I don't know about netflix, but some other shit will replace it

>He thinks torrents will ever die

Not in this century they won't

>muh piracy will be erradicated

Is this the year 2000?

>implying I don't keep my sensitive data on an encrypted device with no netherworld access

Network*
I think I'll use netherworld from now on though
