I wish I was fucking unemployed
>webdev

because those computer jobs went to india

any eye protection is better than none.

i recommend safety squints

It support

>screwdriver
>eye protection

It's like they're deliberately provoking us to jump to the conclusion that women are technically useless.

those are safety goggles, they're vented out the sides

working close to the designated shitting street, Pajima can never know when the next flood comes. she's always prepared for the windows to burst by the mighty force of a shit wave.

> mfw Java code monkey
> mfw more dough than I can spend because too much overtime and no life

If you passed ECON 101 you would know that NEETs are not part of the labour force and thus are not unemployed.

But then again you can't expect a board of biological failures to know simply shit

Because I fell for the Computer Engineering meme.

>If you passed ECON 101 you would know that NEETs are not part of the labour force and thus are not unemployed.

Only if you're a faggot who uses something stupid like U3 to track unemployment and not the superior U5 or U6

tell us more?

But I'm not. Going to a good college helps if you're not a fucking retard.
Hell, there's people that would hire you solely on the name of your college alone.
The only people who are "trained" for CS jobs but can't get them are absolute retards who did bootcamps or followed some programming tutorial on YouTube or were memed by Sup Forums to pick up programming or went to some ITT Tech tier community college.

>soldering
Looks like a screwdriver to me.

>Modern CS degrees
>Learning skills
No students know what the fuck they're doing anymore, just how to do it.
If you asked them to get the length of a string NOT in Java they'd have no ability to answer. They only know of a string as "text with methods on it"

Can the newfags leave already

I feel like technology and computing will turn to shit as jobs real soon. The transistor is not easy to be shrinked anymore. As a result we will reach an enormous stalemate because all the algorithmic advantances that could be made on the same hardware will be made almost in full.

The stalemate is unclear how long it will lost. Maybe 20 years, may 200 years if we are unlucky.

We need a new paradigm ASAP. Maybe a breakthrough in quantum computing, I don't know.

>tfw companies already calling me for interviews but I have to turn them down because I'm still in school

Am I making a mistake? Should I finish the degree or just get a job?

They're safety glasses for use around chemicals which can splash or spatter into your eyes.

do the fucking interviews and if/when they call you back to ask when it's good to start working, tell them the first semester that you have off, or take some time off from school.

Whats your major and what school are you in?

your gay to be ache

I do agree Java might not be the best language to learn in a CS degree, I would've liked to learn C from the beginning, I just started working with it in my Junior year and I find it quite cool

finished my masters ages ago and never got a job

What are you doing now?

>tfw I fell for the 6 year CS meme, no job in 2 years
>Became a nurse in 2 years.
>make 55K a year just wiping asses.

doing PhD and failing because I'm depressed

"mental illness" £1200 a month in bennies and a one bed house paid for

CS.

I go to a small school you've never heard of, but I've been pretty autistic about programming/math stuff my whole life and like to answer programming challenges that companies put up for recruiting purposes for fun. Lately I've been getting calls back but I really want to finish my degree.

I suppose I have nothing to lose, so I'll try that out.

Because all are dumb except me and my mom.

Going to college, and after that to masters and after that the next thing that comes on path.
Who cares about working, if your in a nonshit country you can get paid to go to college/uni and after that you can go learn even more and maybe after that we have basic income so either you can work for couple hours a week or stay at home and program/help open source projects.

Any other ET bros here? Feels bad man that I'll never be as smart as a real engineer.

They put programing challenges? Can I see one perhaps maybe an old one you already completed, I just want an Idea of what kind of caliber programmer I need to mold myself into.

>tfw no job and two kids
>tfw welfare pays plenty if you're frugal
Gunna have more kids.

>mfw not unemployed anymore
>tfw fixing bugs and developing shit
>feels okay
>tfw tore arm years ago and still sadcunt
>getting fat too
>working out feels weird so I stopped

RIP the dream, ima be a fat virgin forever. At least I have a job... woohoo...

quora.com/challenges

Lots of companies have stuff like this. Just look around for them.

>All dat math
I guess I gota brush back up. Thanks though user.

what kinds of things do you do?
how advanced is one supposed to be in order to get a job

Don't need money

>tfw webdev fag
>tfw I'm a retail wage cuck.
>tfw plan on moving across the US this summer to Washington
>tfw will have to work another retail job while I try to land web dev interviews

Is it possible to land a job with just phone interviews?

Left my job temporarily to get a PhD abroad

those are chemical safety goggles, though.

the brown qt in the background is wearing proper safety glasses.

can you post some other ones you did?

Not unemployed at all. I build VR tools. It's exciting being on the cutting edge.

I'm incompetent.

>swimming glasses
is this a bong thing? they're goggles

Globalist policies of the Odumma administration.

Are there any jobs asking for Python?

I finished my CS degree but I'm more interested in making websites than programming, what do I do?

because Pahjeet and its whole family under h1bs are stealing our jobs!

why the fuck would u move to Washington?
get a job in the bay area. Of course you can land a job by phone, but at some point you'll eventually have to use Skype or go to an in-person interview

I'm not, I'm a Certified Public Accountant. I never fell for the STEM meme.

>his job is literally about to become automated

Because I have a hard enough time making my VCR not have a blinking 12:00 on it.

The cool part is there is this human element that can't be automated. Bean counters might get automated, but CPAs won't, at least until AI is sufficiently advanced.

Do whatever you want.

>webdev job in 2017
>barely above min wage
I was born in the wrong generation

>fell for the pharmacy meme
>Almost as hard to get into as fucking med school when I applied
>Super over saturated now, new schools popping up all over the country
>You can literally get in with a 2.9GPA as long as your fafsa can handle the loan
>As if this wasn't enough, pajeets with a "certified" Rph license are allowed to dispense, making jew companies like CVS only really need ONE staff pharmacist to supervise the team of ling lings and rasheeds.

NAFTA was a mistake

>Be gyrl.
>Be gyrl at school
>Be gyrl doing thing.
>Thing gets into eye.
>Mother sues school for lots of rectangles
>School loses

I actually was just given a job, working in bio lab. Starting next week. I've been waiting for 5 months for this position.

I'm not it's just my job has me doing so little for eight hours a day I actually did more stuff when I was unemployed.

There will be a small period where software development will sky rocket for optimization shit since hardware development is about to hit a fucking massive roadblock

During this time anyone who can come up with even the smallest way to optimize something can make it big

If you started work on some programs and algorithms that did that you could become rich during this period

I'm a systems analyst making 100k

What the fuck does a System Analcyst actually do?

I am the living embodiment of csgrad.jpg and I don't know what to do.

I open CTCI and topcoder and I don't even understand how to approach the problems.

I'm embarrassed to speak with others from my graduating class.

They could've picked a better image, computer science isn't electrical engineering, and who the fuck holds a screwdriver like that?

>work as sysadmin/entire IT department for architectural firm
>'open' office all to myself (although it's uses as a storage room for old tech and furniture)
>total autonomy
>breaks whenever
>$32.50/hr
>99% of the firm's work is done on thin clients, so I can just roll back the vm to whenever
>no uniform or shoes required
Cozy af

I'm not.

>Computer science
>Soldering muh CPUs
Hmmm

Holy shit user, you've got it fucking made
How the hell did you score that?

the succubi did not like me
so they sucked the duck of our boss and he fired me

i am refugee-sexual

looks like a plain old screwdriver

I'm a software engineer actually, making 100k in the South. Ask me anything nerds

>In the South
I assume you mean the south in the US
What state, user? I live in Alabama

I spent 6 years after high school in 2 uni's bouncing around majors. CS, IT, Business. My counselor hated me and every time I set up a meeting you could see her rolling her eyes before I walked in the door. After many talks and aptitude tests, I got nowhere and talked to some admin after one of the tests.

>user, you don't seem to have an interest in anything, you have to have interests so you can study them and have a career

I just looked angrily at her and said bluntly, how did you get THIS job?

She grinned and went on about her family, alma mater, philosophy classes, clubs and her first job being picked up by a family friend to help with accounting and then into counseling somehow, and now she's in education because there's great benefits.

I was pissed, and told myself fuck it and responded.

so mommy and daddy paid for your education, you majored in fucking philosophy and then got a completely unrelated job from family connections and hopped around filling space on your resume until you landed in some paper pushing admin job with benefits, and you're telling me to take fucking tests to show what i'm good at so I can do that for the rest of my life?

I was raising my voice and there was some douche in the doorway telling me to calm down and if I wanted to talk to him.

I yelled some more fucks and told them some more shit I honestly don't even remember. I got escorted out and given warnings and shit.

I went to a local college, got an AS in 2 semesters in "business" since I already had a bunch of uni credits anyways, and just applied to craigslist jobs for a week. Out of the dozens I sent out, I got like 9 interviews and picked the best paying job. I made $11/h moving server racks in a warehouse with a Chinese company for 2 years, got bumped to $15, and now i'm an admin at that company making $20/h, which is more than enough to live a comfy life.

Fuck uni, just get a regular job and move up instead of trying to get around it by getting a fancy degree.

Me too friend. Me too.
There's no hope. Just give up and work help desk until you die.

>tfw farmer
>robots will kill me and take over my farm

what the fuck

but that's a good thing if you're the land owner?

TL;DR - user spergs out at counselor and goes and gets a warehouse job because he couldn't be fucked to deal with college

I'm not.

Protip:
Trump is making the military the place to be, enlist for any job that has the word "IT" or "Cyber" in it.
If you're not retarded, you get a bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience, while getting paid the whole time.
When you get out, you'll be able to land a decent GS or contractor position, raking in those sweet DoD dollars.

The caveat is that you have to be a functional human being and be able to take orders, collaborate, lead, etc.

He did okay all things considered I think

At least he didn't end up as a mall store manager or something

>having to go though basic
>getting yelled at and bossed around
>being in the military in anyway

He spent 6 years in college wish-washing around, and didn't even get a degree in the end. He probably has an amount of student debt, too.

Like you'd think after 6 years, he'd just get a degree in *something*, as it would open up more job options.

Yeah but I can't fuck college bitches whilst smoking blunts in the military.

I've only ever seen automation applied to watering crops and sifting and grading produce such as Pomegranate in a factory.

It would be a long time until fruit picking for most crops is done autonomously as it is currently not feasible.

I don't know if wheat harvesting is automated, that seems like one of the easier crops to automate since you generally just drive one of those fancy harvesters around in a specific pattern.

I'm not, I'm in the accounting department though. I make macro's and widgets for reporting.

Basic is minor in the grand scheme of things. You get yelled at and exercise for two months.
At my actual job, we're all bros and nobody yells unless you do something supremely stupid.

>I can't fuck college bitches
False. Well, maybe you can't. You don't think college girls like guys who are in shape?

>smoking blunts
Definitely the worst part. Good thing there's alcohol.

>Fuck uni, just get a regular job and move up instead of trying to get around it by getting a fancy degree.

Essentially this. If you can read and comprehend what you're reading, you don't need a professor to walk you through the material when everything is in your fucking books. School teaches children to fear teaching themselves.

>False. Well, maybe you can't. You don't think college girls like guys who are in shape?
I figured I would be away from home most of the time or moving around a lot.

>Definitely the worst part. Good thing there's alcohol.
Not good enough :(

I'd like to join the military. I think once I'm in I'd be forced to do something and learn a lot of life skills I know I'm lacking. But when I think about contributing directly to the bullshit our government gets into, like actively helping it, fills me with disdain. I would go to sleep every night hating who I am but then again I already do.

I'm stationed in Colorado Springs. Tons of college girls (and weed, sadly).
I'm gonna be here for at least 6 more years, but most people move around every 3 years or so.

I too disagree with a lot of the BS that goes on, and have to keep my mouth shut when people talk about snowden, etc. Something about public service makes me feel a little less fucked, though. Like I'm not working just to make some investors in some company rich. I think when I'm done I want to work for a school district or municipality. Low pay doesn't bother me, the easy atmosphere would more than make up for it.
