>used firefox for over 10 years >always stayed loyal despite all sjw bullshit >finally give in to the botnet >download chrome >it's so fucking fast compared to firefox it's not even funny >sites literally loading in milliseconds instead of seconds >pages rendering faster than my eyes can process
Why the fuck did I torture myself? If you're among those who still use Firefox, there is no need to suffer with this piece of shit browser that doesn't even care about its users anymore. PLEASE do yourself a favor and switch to Chrome.
Chrome's translation feature is really neat but I like virtually everything else about firefox. No add on can really replicate it well, or at all.
Are there any Chromium forks that: 1) aren't broken to hell? 2) are ungoogled to some extent?
Ungoogled Chromium cannot run translate which is one of the main reasons I would want to use it. Any other good forks you guys are aware of?
Isaac Kelly
translate doesn't even work on Iridium
Lucas Martinez
welcome brother, i switched a while back, have to crank up ff sometimes for testing and every time i do i'm reminded how shit the internet used to be
William Howard
>doesnt care about its users >sjw bullshit What are you talking about
Jose White
Chrome doesn't have noscript or videodownloadhelper. Chrome is from Google.
Daniel Long
They're literally fucking over all addon developers. First they had to rewrite their addons to support electrolysis (e10s) and now next they have to rewrite them AGAIN to support WebExtension, which by the way means some addons won't even function anymore. Many developers will therefore discontinue support for their addon and without addons, Firefox is nothing.
Use uMatrix instead instead and youtube-dl for downloading videos.
Brandon Hill
My Chromr has been fucking around for a few weeks. It hangs up randomly for 5-10 seconds at a time for seemingly no reason. Much less without youtube running, which it basically does 24/7, but has never been a problem before. Clearing cache and history didn'y help, neither did reinstalling.
Heeeelp
Jeremiah Wood
>Chrome canary has a bug Nigger what
Cameron Rogers
That's because translating would send your text to Google servers. You can't have it both ways.
Ryan Stewart
check out Nik's Chromium
Justin Nelson
>>sites literally loading in milliseconds instead of seconds >>pages rendering faster than my eyes can process
>a browser that preloads links can display pages instantaneously who da thunk it
Thomas Lee
>give in to the botnet Why would you do that?
There are chromium based browsers who have disabled all the Google spy ware.
>if any of the websites you are viewing uses the special prefetch-link tag.
Brody Reyes
Does youtube-dl support downloading from outside youtube and downloading files of any extension you want (such as music, images, swf)
Logan Gonzalez
If youre going to bother with the altered chrome browsers then you might as well stay firefox
Jordan Thomas
Firefox is shit though.
The chrome derivatives are literally the best of both worlds.
Jace Cook
Any specific reason?
Dominic Walker
yes, and yes
Colton Young
can't use it because after x amount of open tabs I can't see what the fuck is going on anymore, rendering the browser useless.
Personally, I have no experienced any difference in speed between the two these days on multiple machines but that is just my personal experience. So I have no reason to use it.
Brody Gutierrez
>>sites literally loading in milliseconds instead of seconds cool story googlebro
Waterfox is a fucking placebo, all modded Firefox's are.
Andrew Stewart
Still runs lightning fast on my MAC.
Maybe the problem isn't Firefox?
John Rogers
chromebabbi might have a slow pc xd
Jackson Foster
Did the same for Chromium. When you get down to it, all the useful browsers are privacy nightmares barely manageable with extensions. Might as well go with the least shit one.
Daniel Mitchell
Doesn't help Mozilla rolls their own 64-bit now.
Joseph Murphy
Chromium's better
Nathan Wood
literally botnet
Carson Baker
disable h/w acceleration or something, could be a driver
Ian Hernandez
>I'm curious why there is so many comments with "firefox had this implemented many years ago" - do You really thing that this could be motivating? Usual developer looking on such msg would answer "so use firefox or be less offensive".
>Google is company mostly taking profit from advertisement and probably they do not have workaround for adblocker using this technique, so try to understand that it would be unpolitical to add feature without workaround, which could harm revenue and is mostly used in adblockers...
CIA niggers getting sneakier every day
Christopher Davis
>no Rikaisama on Chrome
Can't make the switch
Asher Reed
Cite me a browser which isn't a botnet and still has great security and features.
Evan Sullivan
Try to enable full color correction.
Only FireFox can do that currently.
Owen Reed
Firefox
Hunter Wright
>He thinks Firefox isn't a botnet
Jason Smith
I agree OP, but there's one thing that stops me from using chrome/chromium
>white hot flash of light every time you open a new tab And you can't change the default background color either, it's there forever.
Nathan Allen
>not using Speed Dial 2 for example
Caleb Hernandez
Yes, that's what I think. Please prove me otherwise by showing me the source code responsible for the botnet.
Bentley Stewart
full what?
Yea I don't think I care.
Jonathan Wright
I just can't use chrome knowing I'm sending every single thing I do online to Google. I just can't. I don't even know why, I'm boring as fuck and am into programming, maths and art. Oh wow so interesting woo. Why the fuck would I give a shit, I don't know, but I do.
Elijah Jackson
No, I mean when you follow a link, the page flashes bright white for a milisecond before drawing the elements. It triggers my epileptic migraines.
convert every image and graphic to sRGB based on your OS installed color profile.
Chrome can only do that for images tagged with a color profile.
FireFox has the option to convert everything to sRGB with your monitor profile no matter if it's tagged or not.
This is a big deal of you have a monitor with a profile wider than sRGB.
Cooper Sanders
I've used this, but I have to turn it off all the time because I work with graphics.
Jack Garcia
Cool.
I got nothing against firefox or chrome (us both), but that seems like a very specialised need.
Jaxon Thomas
But what about the RAM usage? It's really uncommon for a simple web browser to use so much RAM. It's a well known fact that Chrome is actually a secret bitcoin miner.
Ethan Walker
>muh feature only 56 people have cared about in the last 3 years
Cooper Ross
Well I have a wide gamut monitor and I can't stand all the colors blown out and too intense.
Trust me, I've wanted to switch away from FireFox for years because of the performance issues; but the color thing has kept me on it.
But with this latest FireFox update, e10s has been turned on; so the performance has been great.
Cameron Scott
As much as I don't really notice the difference in speed, it's a botnet-free build of Firefox that doesn't include stupid shit like hello, pocket, and maintenance service.
Brody Collins
> 1. go fullscreen > 2. open new tab > 3. type url of website you want to navigate to > ? > 5. profit
That's the main reason firefox is my main driver
Jordan Reyes
I have both, I use both. You're either full of shit or very incompetent.
Kayden Thompson
>so the performance has been great.
I use the dev edition, so have been on e10s for a while, and yeah perfomance wise I have a really hard time seeing the difference between Chrome and Firefox. And that is as someone who has both browsers open 24/7.
Adrian Green
>doesn't have Bazzacuda Image Saver No thanks.
Joshua Ward
Well since I'm on an AMD FX system, the single-thread design has been killing me until e10s was turned on.
A heavy weight page would slow down the UI and prevent new tabs from opening smoothly - causing a second or two freeze until the heavy weight tab was done processing...
Also when browsing porn forums and opening 10 image tabs at once caused the same thing.
Shit like that causing user experience issues...
Colton Bennett
ye, cus on forums, we all know chromium pre-loads all the "delete posts" buttons
Carson Bailey
Hmm, maybe you're right. Outside features which aren't enabled by default, they don't really gather much information on you. Fingerprinting is a problem with pretty much all browsers.
I might go back to Firefox. I miss the better scrolling.
Nathan Wilson
>can't change the default background color
what?
Levi Sanchez
how to get rid of certificate errors on chromium, i can't acces sites like amazon, alibaba etc...
Liam Myers
>php KYS quickly
Oliver Foster
Dumb chrome nigger, I'm talking about the internal background color that the renderer uses to fill the screen with when a new page is not drawn yet.
>WOAH A COMPLETELY FRESH CHROME INSTALL IS FASTER THAN MY FF INSTALL I USED FOR YEARS
The real torture for the Earth is that the likes of you wasting oxigen.
Leo Allen
You will not get any errors if you chose a non-botnet shit-tier browser for NEETs.
Ryan Ramirez
>oxigen
Gabriel Lee
The Bible said the devil was a competent temptress.
Jonathan Mitchell
b-b-b-but muh RAM.
Daniel Cox
Use Palemoon if you care about RAM.
Juan Wilson
After you show me the source code responsible for the botnet in Chromium
Parker Reed
nice quads, checked
Justin Walker
Tempermonkey and youtube links script.
John Rodriguez
Lies and slander.
Ryder Carter
Is there anyhing similar to open with + mpv for chrome based browsers?
Liam Diaz
Nope, that's what I miss the most from Firefox Just using the command line now
Ryder White
that's what I thought thanks user
Ayden Campbell
>botnet-free build of Firefox that doesn't include stupid shit like hello, pocket, and maintenance service. Literally all of these things can be easily removed in a few clicks
Mason Cox
>Cite me a browser which isn't a botnet and still has great security and features. here's a good one mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
William Jones
Yes?
Brayden Martinez
Please if you post chrome propaganda please tell us your os
Charles Brown
When I can rice chrome maybe I'll consider switching over.
John Baker
The only problem I have with Chrome is that tabs get ridiculously small when you have a lot of them open. Is there any way to fix that?
Ayden Lewis
use vivaldi
Andrew Ross
>Proxy configuration not distinct from windows/IE configuration >No distinct from windows/IE certificate stores >Not as much extensions I'll stick to firefox thank you
Xavier Lee
>implying speed is all that matters in a browser >OP, you are officially a stupid fucking person >stupid fucking people will be the death of us all
Anthony Green
>Having browser preference based upon irrelevant ideological positions that have zero effect on browser development but not caring about whether the browser is a threat to privacy or freedom. This is Sup Forums
Andrew Rogers
vivaldi
James King
Although you had great quads, this is not an argument.
