PSA: Xiaomi started to lock EDL mode on all of its new phones. the old deep flash cables doesn't work wither.
This is apparently a new deepflash cable that is needed to put the device in EDL mode. Instead of shorting the black and green cable, the cable for this one requires shorting the black and white one. You could also unlock the bootloader of your device, and then EDL mode is unlocked and you can enter EDL through fastboot or adb.
Requesting a unlock code would be easier, no need to fuck around with cables.
