Encryptards BTFO

Encryption banned when?

Soon. Only those against it are cucks and have something to hide. You have no need for encryption unless you're a terrorist or pedo.

or if you don't want all of your information falling into criminal hands.

>ban encryption
>credit card information no longer allowed to be encrypted
>now you just need to intercept cell wavelengths, decipher them, and you have thousands of people's information

encryption is a good thing.

>falling for the most blatant bait posted today

How new are you?

>Encryptard thinks banks and businesses won't be exempted
Civilians have no need for this, nothing to hide and nothing to fear.

>I actually need unironical military-grade encryption just to shop online and to upload naked pictures of my wife to dropbox

Civilian-grade encryption can take care of everything you said, user.

Reply to this post if your country hasn't elected Orange Orangutan Hitler and you're not going to lose all your freedoms over the next 4 years

>Encryption banned when?
9/11/2001

>NOTHONG TO HIDE
I work in info sec, and I can tell you, anyone who wants to get rid of it, is not thinking about what's bettor the majority of people. They only want to be able to pwn you.
And guess what?
Without encryption I will pwn all of you. It will be glorious. You will all be my bots and you will be used to btfo whoever I want.
If it happens. I'm gonna make so much money.

>tfw intimately close with the hands that pull the strings.
>tfw it won't happen.

You have shown your lack of understanding of crypto.
Read a mathbook kiddo.
>military encryption
>civilian encryption
Lolololololol
Src plz.

>Trump passes EO to ban encryption
>script kiddies steal everyone's bank logins
>blame Pajit Pi for ruining the country
>still vote for Trump in 2020
>t.Americuck

Lololol
>government decides who has a right to protect there information using math.

Good plan mate
>inb4 no reason to protect with nothing to hide

Lolol sure sign of shill. If you believe this, plz post email address, ip address, Mac addresses of device, phone numbers, home and mailing addresses, credit card numbers, social security of yourself and family, and the names and phone numbers of all extended family and friends.

>nothing to hide
Amiright?

There are now enough sufficiently savvy groups in the world, and enough money elsewhere, that it is in these groups' financial interest to hack for the purpose of theft (IP and money) rather than to push for military action.

What used to be "military-grade" encryption is now consumer grade, and there's more value in protecting the consumer than there is in protecting the military.

>Encryption
>spoliation
choose both

Banks will still use encryption, encryptards. You just won't be able to hide your CP, furry porn, or mass shooting plans anymore. Trump will make america great and safe again.

>I dontunderstand encryption
>muh terrorists tho!!!
>nothing to hide
>assuming your only hiding info from government and authority
>in reality hiding information from anyone isn't intended for
>revealing severe lack of understanding of the environment surrounding information security

even if you don't care about your devices and info being pwnd, it doesn't mean people like me couldn't use it to weaken your economy, military and govt. Every device and piece of information gained, potentially provides access to more critical information or systems.

All the talk in this thread between military and civilian encryption ignores the fact that any encryption thatched be considered "civilian" is useless because anyone could break it.

I know it's bait. But any news need not get the impression this is a good idea for any reason.
Besides, it's win win for people like me.

If it happens it will get repealed so fast it won't even really have existed.

Obama and Clinton cracked down on cryptographers much more than any other US president.

There's a reason Dj Bernstein left the US to teach in Netherlands, long before Trump ever showed up

I want to see your face when somebody posts your wifes' nudes online if you somehow become a celebrity/politician

SHALL
NOT
BE
INFRINGED

>Trump supporter
>against furry porn
>against mass shootings
>against CP

This is new to me

Stop taking the obvious bait

Lol
>lack of encryption makes the country safe
>implying any foreign nation couldn't take advantage of it and use it against us.
K.
Good plan.
You win.
So good.
Very wow.
Your level of understanding is unprecedented.
LOLOLOLOLOL
If it does happen
You'll be the first to know.
;-)

HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US

Please list civilian encryption schemes.
Please list military encryption schemes.

>this shit of a thread

>Letting a Zionist poo like bannon do your thinking for you

Please list algorithms that fall into the two categories

BTFO
T
F
O

Ayo, what kind of rights you want, senpai?

Civilian: RSA using a key provided by the government agency
Military: RSA using a key generated by yourself

Someone please list the civilian encryption algorithms and the military encryption algorithms with sources. Also, what separates them??

Civilian: RSA using a key provided by the government agency
Military: RSA using a key generated by yourself

How would a key generate by government be transported to the civilian securely?
Is this the only algorithm you know about? Are you 5?

Are you retarded? Do you not know how public key cryptography works?

>nice answer

>Trump passes EO to ban encryption
>script kiddies steal everyone's bank logins
>praise Pajit Pi for making them big moni
>vote for Trump in 2020
>t. Scriptkiddy
Libtard btfo B^)

Shhh he is a big boy, he knows about this stuff he is just nervous

Seriously? You really don't know how public key cryptography works?

>opens Wikipedia
>quickly learns what rsa and pkc are
Hahahahaha get rekt.
What's gonna happen when nsa stops paying you for shilling? McDonald's won't have you back.

I have a CS degree. I don't need to look up high school level cryptography on wikipedia.

What algorithm will be used to transport the key?

The public key can be transported in plain text.

Lol
>I have cs degree
Explains why you don't understand math.

What math? You're the one with no idea how RSA works.

Lololol
So you can only communicate with the government then???

I would literally fly to the middle east and help isis develop nuclear and/or biochemical weapons before I give up my right to secure my data.

what is diffie hellman

This is about storing data at rest. If you want to communicate with others, those entities would register their private keys with the government.

Hahahahahahaha
>you don't know how public crypto works?
>only giving a public key to a civilian to secure data.
Doesn't secure anything except communications with government
And it's not signed!!!
Get rekt bb.

Lol
>ask for military vs civilian
>says rsa
>proceeds to explain it's for data at rest
Lololol
Your ignorance is showing.

Explain why a legal business doing legal activities would need to keep their private keys from the government.

The simplest and the original implementation of the protocol uses the multiplicative group of integers modulo p, where p is prime, and g is a primitive root modulo p. These two values are chosen in this way to ensure that the resulting shared secret can take on any value from 1 to p–1. Here is an example of the protocol
Alice and Bob agree to use a modulus p = 23 and base g = 5 (which is a primitive root modulo 23).
Alice chooses a secret integer a = 6, then sends Bob A = ga mod p
A = 56 mod 23 = 8
Bob chooses a secret integer b = 15, then sends Alice B = gb mod p
B = 515 mod 23 = 19
Alice computes s = Ba mod p
s = 196 mod 23 = 2
Bob computes s = Ab mod p
s = 815 mod 23 = 2
Alice and Bob now share a secret (the number 2).

Both Alice and Bob have arrived at the same value s

Enemies of America would say the sooner the better for themselves.

Any foreign country could intercept anything from America without getting caught.

There are two scenarios. Both where you end up being retarded.
> using public key to encrypt the data via rsa
In which case this civilian can no longer decrypt it
>using the key with a symmetric algorithm
Why use rsa in the first place then??

BTFO

You ask the government to decrypt it back for you, providing proof if your identity.

Explain why you won't give me your address and phone number.
Because the government is made of people.
People can do bad thingsand generally take advantage of power.
Even if you aren't doing anything bad, that doesn't mean I couldn't with your information.

Because bad things will happen to government employees if they take advantage of power. There is nothing holding you accountable.

Can't ban an idea, fascists.

>pls mr gvrmnt, can I get a fresh encryption key?
lolwut

the us government has lost over 20 MILLION personal records in the last 2 years, dossiers with "If someone wanted to blackmail this person, what information could they use?" sections. What makes you think they're even CLOSE to capable of holding on to a centralized database of active encryption keys?

If I'm encrypting my communications and my local IP storage, there's a zero percent chance that I put my key generation in someone else's hands.

"yes sir, to access yourphotos you will need to send us the data and a phot I'd.you can have your unencrypted data sent to you plain text I. Two to three weeks"
This is totally ignoring the fact that storage of a key for every human would quickly be compromised by foreign nation states.l, or people like me.

Because there are legitimate reasons for legal businesses doing legal activitites to distrust the government. Just because you abide by the law doesn't mean that you automatically trust the government.

Furthermore, just because something is law, that doesn't make it ethical. In cases where the law conflicts with what is most ethical, I will not follow the law.

At the end of the day, if the people cannot protect their data from the government, this can have 2 major consequences:
1. Corrupt government employees could compromise your data when it is to their advantage to do so
2. The government could accuse anyone of being a terrorist if they don't like what they are doing and force them to disappear with no trial under existing laws.

There is nothing requiring you to encrypt data in the first place. If you want the added security it will with added inconvenience.

Lolololol
What bad things? With what proof? If there the ones who hold all the keys an employee could very easily make any action against you look like it was performed by someone else.

You don't trust the authorities to find and prosecute thief and attackers. But trust them with the only key to your privacy?
( ignoring the fact that this implementation isn't secure in the fields place.)

Why do Trumptards get all butthurt about getting their guns taken away, but are completely okay with encryption being banned, even when criminals and terrorists plan their attacks in plaintext sms

What happened on the 9th of November, 2001?

By having careful audit logging against all record accesses.

Right, with that being said, in either case you exposing another potentially untrusted entity with your information that you have admitted you wouldn't give to a stranger.
Strong argument lad

you're not serious, are you?

Dumb animuposter

I don't get it either
>you better not take away right x, but right y?? I don't care.
>I don't trust the military and police to ohysically protect me. They may be malicious.
>I trust them with my information because they are held accountable.

K

Maintained and kept by who? The same guy who generates and distributes the keys?

Get lol'd on kid. Your eagerness to give up your rights is disgusting.jpg

>tfw you spend 2 years and $300k developing, testing and implementing pricing and marketing algorithms for your private company, only to lose control of them when someone steals your employee's laptop because you're still waiting for the government to send you your authorized encryption keys and they're currently stored in plaintext

not everyone spends their days jerking off and shilling on the internet

Even better are right wingers that support porn getting banned because of >muh degeneracy, but get super butt-blasted when their shill posts get deleted on whatever social media site they decided to spam that day.

I can absolutely see this happening. Will be fucking hilarious seeing the US economy nosedive immediately afterwards.

What do have to hide from China? Nothing to hide, nothing to fear.

I want trolls and shills to leave this board immediately.

>itt people who want to illegalize math

>tfw you work on software then private property takes it away from you

You knew the rules when you left Carmack

SHILLS OUT

>Totally not an FBI agent

It's ok user, the internet will be ruined before encryption is banned.

Does anyone know when the nest cicada 3301 puzzle is coming out? If you know then please show me the first clue.

You first, encryptards.

ISIS and NAMBLA shills get out!

>$CURRENT_YEAR
>caring about sekrit klubs

>High School Level Cryptography

This, Sup Forums is a christian conservative website that fights degeneracy. The destruction of encryption from pedo terrorists is necessary.

>Freedom banned when?

Just before civil war.

You don't have the right to encryption just like you don't have the right to break the law. Trump will put you in your place and keep america free.

>this is what the globalist media wants you to think goy

>you can't do this thing
>you are free now!

Limiting or banning what destroys freedom like encryption or evolution is what makes this a free nation.

>or evolution
You almost had me for a sec there.

>oppression to keep you free
>suppress right to privacy to ensure your rights
U wot m8

Whoa, that's some military-grade assault encryption, son! Do you have a permit for that?

There is no such thing as "military-grade" and "civilian-grade" encryption. There are extremely basic mathetmatical algorithms which are perfectly secure for encryption against the government or anyone else. That specific example wouldn't be very secure because it's dealing with such small numbers. However, a real life implementation of Diffie Hellman is unable to be broken without getting lucky on a brute force attack.

>meanwhile posting a facebook image

Fuck off, shill

military-grade might refer to dedicated hardware though

wouldnt banning encryption be completely retarded, ill be honest guys, im just a tech consumer Sup Forums denizen, my day job is laying bricks.

But for example, say I want to send you the letter 'hello' and I just do something simple like print it backwards 'olleh' or move each letter down one 'ifmmp' isn't that technically encryption? sure there are better uncrackable versions but it seems the simple coding of messages is impossible to stop.

>Encryptards
Can you guess how I know you are part of the NSA
