>USB dead drops
>actually believing this myth is real

Enjoy your malware.

If I ever see one, I'm gonna stick a wad of bubblegum in it.

Theres a whole site for them, and many of them are listed as working as early as a few months ago.

It could be that USB killer thing, so there's no way I'd plug my laptop into it.

Usbaids, also it was possible to short out older motherboards, requiring a reboot, of the pentium iii or 4 era by crossing the ground and 5v+ of a usb port.

can't imagine why you'd use one

between the risk of usbkillers, malware, cp, gay porn and other illegal shit.

no thanks. Im not on any lists and id like to stay that way.

None anywhere near me and if I made one I doubt it would become anything.

I wish it really was like a modern "anarchists cookbook" where people put like banned information and stuff like they claim it is. It's just a place for people to share their CP though, and that's fucking stupid.

>visiting 4chin
>"Im not on any lists"
lul'd softly

this. some people just live in their own little world.

anyway what's the website to find these?

Honestly I think visiting Sup Forums takes you off lists.
But gives a probability bump if something can be attributed to you personally.

None found in my country, apparently

>literally is a thing
>lol guise it's fake xD

That ass is amazing.

Stuxnet

So set one up

Any idea as to how?

thats wat she said

>What are your experiences with USB dead drops?- 18 posts shown.
I bought 5 knockoff USBKILL devices from China and I replaced closest USB drops in my area with them.

Enjoy destroying your devices, retards.

>put flash drive in crack
>cement it in place

malware

You are literally satan.

Thank you for your service, you must have fried hardware of some cp traders.

>lists

You don't "get on a watchlist" anymore, you're watched and recorded anyway then they'll look through your record if they don't like you.

USB deadrops are shit. A much better idea would be to set up loads of solar powered NASs around town. This way people know where to go but can't break the shit or abuse serious security risks.

>I went into a public place with a jackhammer and drilled the wall out without anybody noticing so I could then put a new USB in the wall and seal it shut.

>he thinks plaster is hard to chip off
are you retarded? how the fuck do you think it was installed in the first place?

I throw them away when I find them.

>inb4 dumpster divers stealan my dudes

Shoo virgin. It's passed your bedtime

Also works with some semi-recent HP laptops, namely the 6515b.

So assuming for a moment that you actually did such a thing and aren't just telling lies on the internet, why? Why go to the trouble? If you don't like the concept, why not just not participate in it instead of actively trying to fuck other people over for liking something you don't like?

Pirateboxes are more secure. You don't have to physically be there to get the data. Just be close.

where deez pirateboxes be yo?

>USB dead drops
>when USB killers are a thing

>what kind of person would go through the trouble of installing USB killers?
>what kind of person would buy USB killers in the first place?

Just get your CP from pre-2000 like everyone else.

With concrete, like every guide advises

my experience is that pretentious people just like to say the word dead drop because it makes them get to larp as james bond.

couldn't you just use a cheap usb 2.0 hub to prevent ruining your motherboard if you had to?

>couldn't you just use a cheap usb 2.0 hub
...no

>What are your experiences with USB dead drops?
>what are you experiences with having bareback anal sex with 100s of fags?

>pre-2000
What is pre-2000?

but why not?

wouldn't it just fry the hub and leave your pc intact?

jesus fucking christ... dat ass... I can't even finish reading your comment.

Please explain badusb to me. I get that the ICs in various USB devices can be reflashed to do something else. Maybe they could be set so that any exe stored on it is replaced with malware, I dunno. Whatever. What I don't get is how it can supposedly spread just by connecting the device to another host (assuming you don't do anything retarded, like reading and running executable code from the stick). Am I missing something?

that's not how things work, clockhmed.

yeah but you could easily make one that would

Agreed. If I found one, I'd crack it open and make sure it's a real flash drive. Next plug it into an old Linux test box. Check contents, then repartition, and format.

Typing certain words or acronyms will put you on lists as well.

>people actually believe the cartoonish plot of this show is realistic

It's a geekier version of geocaching.

deaddrops.com

Is it still impossible to do that without strangers assuming I'm murdering pocket monsters?

Bust out a voltmeter and make sure it isn't hooked up to mains.

satanist roasties

*BBRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPAAAPPPPPAPPAPAPPPPAPPAAAAAAAAA*

I've come across three USB dead drops,

First encounter was malware, I plugged it in and nothing popped up so I manually tried to bring it up but nothing would show. I unplugged it and noticed activity, checked processes and lo and behold it had just finished deleting my backup partition, disabling security measures and hijacking root. Computer was basically a drone at this point, aside from browsing the internet or word processing I couldn't do much else. Formatted and reinstalled

Second encounter was full of documents from wikileaks and conspiracy theorists regarding the presence of aliens and whatnot along with the NWO/Free Masons etc. agendas

And last but not least had thousands of nudes on it that were downloaded from one of the *chans based on the naming scheme. I'm assuming they were from Sup Forums on Sup Forums though as I don't think there's any other boards that can compete with the total post count of Sup Forums. There was at least 8,000 images, I wasn't going to stick around to transfer them all so I left.

where dem nudes at yo

It can emulate a hub with a flash drive with 1337V1RUS.exe along with a keyboard to type in Window+R "E:/1337V1RUS.exe"

Or whatever the windows equivalent of curl | bash is

Once you're running malicious binaries its game over

THIS

or type "sudo rm -rf /"

But that only works on Windowz.

So one had malware, one had legitimate documents, and one had documents where it's smart to not use the Internet? Sounds like from your anecdotal experience 2/3 deadrops are legit.

>Formatted and reinstalled
>implying it hasnt installed itself into all the firmware on your devices

There's only retarded stuff on those, like "woaaah I found a dead drop so awesome I'm a hacker".

There are several issues with these: they're in areas where everyone will see you connect to it, anyone can delete everything on it, and they can and will be vandalized.

Ideally we'd need wifi dead drops, that would prevent deletion, be accessed discretly, and which we could be hidden anywhere. But then either they're solar-powered and facing the sun, making them hard to hide, or you can hijack a wall-mounted socket or public lighting, and hope no one will find it. And then hope they can serve any kind of purpose.

obviously the solution is to hide the wi-fi drop entirely inside the wall, tapped into the electric wires leading to an outlet or such.

only problem being how to surreptitiously install such a thing.

You probably should watch the show. There's never a dead drop in it.

all the years before year 2000

they will make your device DEAD and you will have to DROP it in a trash can

I think I'm going to build a Pirate Box with pic related. I want to build a waterproof box for it and connect it to a power bank with a solar panel.

Forgot picture

Fuck, that is a massive USB dongle.

We need a website that lists wifi drops (pirateboxes) and where to find them.

We could basically create our own off-grid internet.

It might be an easier alternative to building a piratebox if it supports multiple connections. It needs to support multiple connections because no one is going to bother waiting if they can't connect.

It supports openwrt but the range is fucking awful to the point that wouldnt work

check out this. it even has openwrt pre installed.

Might work, I just know about how shitty the range is on the zsun because I wasted money on 2 off aliexpress.

word

The AR-150 is pretty cool, Theres a thread on /r/darknetplan where some guy built a small mesh network with a few of them.

They reverse engineered some of the older drives so that the virus will flash new firmware to any new drive of the same brand plugged into the computer to spread the virus in the usb controller of the flash drive, rather than on the flash storage. I don't think this still applies to modern drives unless they found another exploit.

I've kept this idea secret for a while but now I doubt I know how to go through with it.

The idea is to create a new bluetooth-like protocol that enables devices to remotely connect to each other and share data over short-medium distances. The idea would be to have an anonymous, encrypted system that enables users to select what they wanted to transfer and as they use their devices around their city they'll run into other users using this same protocol and software. The appeal comes from the niche of it being similar to deal drops while being much more practical. If you get enough users then mass sharing networks could be created where users are constantly securely able to access and share information.

The reason why another protocol would have to be developed is to try and limit power consumption while enabling high transfer rates at a decent distance.

cool blog dude but "802.11s" already exists. And apps like firechat already utilize both wifi and bluetooth to create mesh networks.

>Bluetooth
>high transfer rates
Bluetooth 5, the most recent standard that pretty much nothing (if anything at all) supports, just doubled transfer rate, bringing the bandwidth up to a whopping 2Mb/s

The current protocols either:
Do not bode well over long distances
Consume too much power due to not being built for this purpose
Are not built with anonymity and security in mind

>either
>three statements

If your on a wifi mesh your already more or less anonymous or at the very least very difficult to track.

Literally just spoof your mac. LAN ip's don't identify anyone.

The way to do it would be to hide one of those Ethernet over power devices(netgear powerline?) on the mains of a coffee shop or something.

Bring a powerline adapter with you and get your Ethernet from a wall jack. Looks like you're charging your laptop, and you can access a NAS or something.

And anyone else who plugs in just gets power. They have no idea.

This is how I contracted snow crash

>if i cant have fun no one can have fun
t. Sup Forums

miaminewtimes.com/news/miamis-dead-drop-art-project-failing-because-thieves-keep-stealing-public-usb-drives-6537986

Lol this is in my city. Fucking niggers.

They stuck them in the ground? Fuck thats stupid, someone probably tripped over it and tore it out.

im tired of looking at ass.

Yea one of them was in the ground, that is pretty fucking stupid, could have stepped or kicked it also.
I just don't know how water and dirt doesn't damage it.

>this much edge
You have to be 18 to post on Sup Forums.

Samefag detected.

This is dum

Anyone who uses those things are retarded and deserve to get their toys fried.

>Anyone ... are retarded
QED.

I never said I wasn't retarded

gay porn aint that bad

Who is this man's equivelant in gay porn?

>QED
My sides, holding true to the myth that all Sup Forums users are really autistic. You just finish your first Calc sequence or something bud? Maybe you should start using some sociology 101 idealogies too.
