it's screensaver on win98

What about this?

You can pass

There was a neon version of this, but the original was better because it had more random shit that made no sense.

Aw yes. I could look at that for hours, it was almost like Doom for me.

For some reason that screensaver scared the shit out of me as a kid. I always thought that it would turn a corner and there would be something there

posting

Came to post this. I always wanted a Wolfenstein 3D one but never bothered to look for it

Best screensaver

You have to change the standard textures to the animated trippy ones. Then, it is frickin awesome.

>eremembre
WHAT DID HE MEAN BY THIS

That's not flying toasters.

>yfw you rotate 180 degrees start walking around on the ceiling

>implying you weren't on the ceiling when you started
the plot thicken

>Tfw you never got to see the teapot

...

Nice XFCE skin
The forward, back, and refresh icons on the web browser were the giveaway

Sup Forums is not that young OP. At least I hope not.

Not him but that does look like actual Win98 to me

no

>he was too poor to afford a real screensaver

how do I do?

10/10 taste

Isn't there rat in the maze?

seconding this

Set font as MS Sans Serif.

...

Makes you really think

Man I loved the after dark flying toasters so much. I wish companies still made cute/interesting screen savers. It seems like screen savers aren't even a thing anymore.

Screensavers only exited to prevent CRT burn in
Now that burn in isn't much of an issue on modern displays screensavers aren't really a thing anymore

What a time to be alive

this fucker right here has it

...

>CRT burn in
wat

...

Doesn't look quite as cool when it's opened sadly.

youngfag detected
if you left an image on a CRT too long it would burn into the glass

I remember when I first saw this as a kid in some random shop, I stared at for like 5 minutes it seemed so fucking awesome

I look at this chart and notice that I'm an oldfag and wonder what I've been doing with my life for all these years.

Toshiba tubes doesn't have this problem.

Still got a boner.

Twisted After Dark was also rad. The lawnmower would occasionally run over a kitten :/.

how you make your firefox tabs more rectangular?

Fuck you.
Fuck you oh so much.

Right in the nostalgia, you bastards..

>remaster
Off yourself

>pic related

Fucking nice
Have you tried loading them all to test if they all still work?

disks read but i cant get anything older than 98se to run in a vm stable and i have little desire to find hardware for it 'cause no workgroups = even shittier networking

i have msdos 6.2, dr-dos 5 and pc dos someplace

How the hell do you have the install disks still around and not the hardware? It's usually the exact opposite for most people

software packrat

i have CGA lemmings and prince of persia and all the stuff of my youth.

oldest file in my backups is MONO.COM which says it's 1980.

most of my backups are from 1990 on.

That screensaver was wonderful. I used to just turn on the computer and wait so that it would come on.

This was my screensaver for a while, with the colour change mode I haven't yet owned a PC that can run it in smoothly with fullscreen disabled and size at max.
Currently using 3D Pipes.

just put the stuff in a dosbox and it should run fine VMs have not very good dos compatibilty

or try a vm with freedos

...

ooooh yeaaaah!

nice

Save those and wait 10+ years and watch them become high collectors items

>not still using the same pc since 2001
>not using tahrpup
i shiggy diggy

ain't me but they make me feel better about a wasted introverted childhood. I think it's like a security blanket.

last one - as to not turn this into Sup Forums

for those of us who didn't like to do a 2 disk zip bridge (zipping disk #2 on pc #1 1.44 M at a time while unzipping disk #1 on pc #2 then switching).

coax networking was too expensive so we had laplink pro.

thing could transfer like a 30MB cracked warcraft2 install onto your friends PC COM1 to COM1 in like an hour.

>it wasn't gay if the male ports didn't touch.
>in another hour of LOADingHIGH and screwing with autoexec.bat and config.sys and getting a DOS mouse driver to work
>had to use different null modem to play 1 on 1.
> played 3 player duke3d with 1x 9600 modem and 1x null modem.

I'll shut up now.

>pol
yuck, go away. Sup Forums is a communist board

fucking pink commie bastard

checked

Am I the only one who wants to see a modern version of those cables return? They're just so comfy compared to most modern cables

>modern version of general purpose serial ports
Im pretty sure thats called USB, user.

fucking nazi manlet who needs to leech of the accomplishments of his "race" to feel good about himself.
go to gulag

I mean the actual cable itself with just with better transfer speeds. I fucking hate the way USB cables look and feel

fucking numale beta cuck. That wall just got 10 feet taller nigger.

T-Thanks...

Fuggg that's a good collection

...

Screens don't need saving anymore.

You could navigate it if you went into the settings and disabled mouse movement stopping the screensaver.

My fucking faggot. You're the guy. You're the master race, not these 12 year old posers that think buying a $1000 PC to play console ports sets them apart from the rest of this unfortunate generation of braindead vidya.

You're ok bro.

>All these screensavers

Plebs

I kno man, it's like a big cunt

pls. more.

Playing this on a 286 with a black and white monitor. Struggling with buckling springs, god I fucking hated those things. Those were the days. Sorta.

And the fucking box mice with shitty buttons and the fucking balls you cleaned all the time but the problem was the sensor inside, not the ball itself.

Prehistorik 2, Commander Keen, some sort of a Conan RPG that only let me use my mouse on one half of the screen for whatever reason. And there was this 3D sort of Tetris called Block Out.

Then The Lost Vikings, Civ, Colonization. God knows what else, I forget. Windows 3.11 bundled games like Chip's Challenge.

Wolf 3d. Prince of Persia. Disney's Aladdin was fucking great. Lotus. Stunts (4D Sports Driving) - yes, "4D". God that game was godawful. Tubular Worlds. Blues Brothers platformer. GODS. Simant. Blackthorne. Hare Raising Havoc. I don't know man, I just keep remembering, did I do anything but play games back then?

Know the feels?

played loadsa 4D as a kid
loved it
was the minecraft of my time when I was 9

Stunts perhaps taught me to re-evaluate games that I initially loved. Because while it was kind of amazing for letting you build tracks and whatnot, the AI was incredibly dumb, driving model was unsatisfying and you could set a high score on any track by simply reversing at the beginning and going through the finish line.

you call that a disk? THIS is (1/8th of) a disk

>bonus for doxing me from reflection
>ENHANCE

>Disk removed from case and is no longer usable
Why would you do this??

I've never actually figured out what it is.

it's definitely 14" and the fellow admin who gave it to me said it was part of a 8 pack of 25MB disks. however when i look here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_IBM_magnetic_disk_drives

i don't see any disks that come with 8x 25MB platters.

I'm pissed because I missed out on a working typewriter as he was escorted before his 2 weeks were up.

GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY WAY

is there a DooM .wad for this?

tfw pre desu posting desu

pearl

more nostalgia material

youtube.com/watch?v=GuY4FR-bmGY

fuck you

At least put it in some kind of protective cover, its already showing a lot of wear

WTF is this? Bob 2.0?

>he never got to kill termites on his desktop

There was a better looking desktop destruction game that was less popular for some reason.

This guy wins

Too slow.

I remeber my parents having this on our Packard bell

I used to sit and watch that, imagining that somewhere out there there was someone else watching the same screensaver, except from their perspective the pipes that looked far away to me looked close up to them, and vice versa.

I still play this game nearly everyday

no regrets
