Mild gamer here

I play d3.

here's my build

pcpartpicker.com/user/antsunrise/saved/#view=FYsLkL

SHould I go for a 470?
I'm not rich or AMD shill but seems to be what I need

what is there to discuss? Vega is still four months away and the 1080ti is smoke and mirrors. Everything worthwhile discussing has been spoken.

It's between the 1050 ti and 1060.

I'd say go ahead.

rx 470>>>ti

I'm not a huge gamer. And not going to drop a shit ton of money for something I don't need. I'll look into it more. waiting on tax returns and moving to new place. Never beeen AMD fan but for the price and reviews it seems well for my needs

Okay. I didn't realize those were as cheap as they are. That will be my route then. Good, because that is what I prefer.

what is better? 1050 ti or 1060?

1060. But they're a bit more expensive. If you're on budget, a 1050ti is fine, but if you can spend just a bit more, the 470 is good.

When should I upgrade my 390? Will be two years this summer

4gb 480 is near the same price and you have plenty of cpu to push it. that and a freesync display should hold up @ FHD.

1050ti will end up getting replaced sooner. and is only what $30-40 bucks cheaper?

1060 is a decent choice but only the 6gb which is more expensive than a 480.

I was considering low cards for my ivy build but am glad I went 390x even if I don't push it.

Wait for vega

Price does sort of matter right now. i think the 1050 ti will suite my needs desu .

470 is one AMD card I can honestly recommend if it wasn't for that ugly pricing. It's a shame because high end quality 470s cost only 10 bucks less than low tier RX 480. Still I'd rather go for high end OCable 470 4gb than for low end 4gb 480. RX 480 is simply fucked unless you're willing to do undervolting which actually helps this piece of shit to be more stable.

I want to get a 1050 ti
Gigabyte or MSI? They're the same price, but the MSI is OC edition.

Link please. Or do it yourself and check reviews on both to see potential OC headroom while seeing which one comes with higher out of the box clocks.

...

You only buy AYYMD cards if you only use and play mainstream shit, but you might as well kill yourself already.

Don't bully the 1050 Ti. I have one because my PSU is 250W.

Also Nvidia is better.

Which RX 480 is best? I thought it was the XFX bit I'm not sure which version of it to get.

Is there a better one? If not which unit to get?

They're all shit. Got performance and that's about it. XFX are very loud, Sapphire expensive and everything else is just thrash.

Well that seems like a fair and balanced review. Thanks user. But I'm too poor for Nvidia atm so I gotta go with the 480 for a moment.

I thought the Sapphire and the MSI were supposedly good

Damn now I am confused.

stop listening to retards on this fucking website and just buy a RX 480 8GB with a decent cooler from whatever fucking brand you want.

What is a good GPU if I mostly play emulators, older games and new games in low settings?
I know I could go with a Radeon but I heared the RX series has problems running older stuff

Im about to masturbate to this. Does it have a dick?

OP's card is perfect for you

MSI was never good for AMD. Highest failure rates in each gen. Sapphire is good but like I said it's the most expensive 480 atm. XFX is just cheap shit that won't die on you but will still run hotter and louder than alternatives when you actually read reviews of people who owned them for longer than a day.

MSI. That Gigabyte card is so good that it doesn't even load on their official website.

is the 8gb even necessary? Why not just get a 480 4gb and upgrade it again in 2-3 years

Isn't it only like only $40 or so for 4 more GBs?

So which brand is the best? I know evga is shit for it.

i see sapphire rx 480 4gb for like 194 on newegg now

divinesanity deviantart.com/gallery/

>Why not just get a 480 4gb and upgrade it again in 2-3 years
that's up to you to decide

It isn't but the thing is 4gb is quite significantly slower when compared to 8gb due to lower memory bandwidth. The difference is so significant that a 4GB 480 will be beaten by a shitty 3gb 1060 and go even with a good non-ref RX 470. I wouldn't recommend a 3gb 1060 though cuz 970 only BARELY got away with the 3.5 meme and 3gb simply won't be enough in modern AAA titles which could lead to performance drops. Honestly just go opt for a good 470 instead of a shitty 4gb 480.

or just get a 8GB 480 like a sane person

>amd is affordable
>nvidia is not but i really want to work with cuda
Help me choose

Okay so I will get a 1050 ti . I been away form Sup Forums for a bit but for the price and performance. it's my winrar

yea just waste money to load textures that don't exist.

Why doesnt he get a high end card and game in 1080p like the rest of you fucking idiots while he's at it

I will never understand how people can still fap to pictures. Obscene porn just made it impossible to go back.

XFX gtr owner here. it doesn't really get noticably loud until the fans hit 70%, and I usually never hit 70C on core with ~20C ambient and 60-65%% fan speed. But I also have a gentle typhoon with uninhibited flow directly to the GPU. I've said this before, and I'll say it again. It cools just fine given decent airflow. When I had a case with shit airflow and fans? Yeah it was hot.

Only thing I would say definitively is not to buy Powercolor, Gigabyte, or Asus.

...

Quads of truth

What is THE best-looking GPU from the past year?

gigabyte, get the mid-high end tier dual fan black/red card, it runs fanless most all the time.

i can't recommend it if you have a psu with a 6 pin. if you are using some shitty chi com 250 watt psu it's ideal for a 1050 Ti.

I have the MSI 480. It's better than the Sapphire 480 in my opinion. Runs cooler. No problems with it so far.

>1050ti costs about 200 burgerbux in my country
I will just stick with my 750ti then

Building my first computer. I have ~$270 to spend on a GPU. Which model performs well and will last me the longest before I'd need to upgrade?

tried amazon?

Is Zotac's AMP extreme still the best 1070?

If not which one is?

GTX 1060
RX 470

Yes it is.

Thanks mah dude.

>Grand theft auto VI
Wat?

How's the RX470's performance for DX11 after the driver updates? It seems to me like the card is more useful for forward thinking users.

that's IV faggot
VI is 6

you can get a used 1070 for just over 300. look on ebay and craigslist.

Is there a significant performance difference between the 1050 and the 1050 Ti?

Are the performances the same except for the fact Ti has 4GB instead of 2?

480 Strix or 1060 Gaming X?

Those are the only two real options in my 3rd world shithole. No other variants are available except... low end Zotac cards, if that's somehow better. Price differences are nonexistent.

no the ti is faster, not because of the vram amount.

pic related.

So I'm just getting into playing with overclocking my 480

and I seem to be hitting 1400mhz at stock voltage with a little power limit bump

is there something I'm missing? It's hitting just under 150W on average with peaks to 170-180W

I just want to know my card's limits, not going to run this daily

Ryzen When?

It's a 4GB sapphire NItro

What is Sup Forums's opinoin on single fan GPU's? Because of my price range I'm deciding on getting a single fan 1060 GPU

If you're planning on buying one of those save up for the RX 470

What budget what country? You should be buying an RX 480

480 has effectively caught up in DX11, and scales better in DX12/Vulkan when the engine is made with it in mind

i will never understand how people can fap to porn in the first place. I stopped doing that after HS.
>jerking off to a guy while he does a female and she looks at you
fucking cucks

Appears I just passed 1440mhz stock voltage, did I win the silicon lottery? It's lower than my 1420mhz run, I'm guessing because I had firefox open in the background

Heads up folks, I've been having issues with Overwatch crashing my PC and I think I finally figured out why.

Basically Blizzard is run by faggots and their games don't play well with overclocked cards apparently. And I just realized that my gpu is factory overclocked (MSI gtx 980ti gaming 6g)

It killed my psu somehow, but it was under warranty. Got a new one and now every game runs fine once again, except Overwatch. Just thought id throw out a warning to folks looking at factory OC cards

>It killed my psu somehow
I see you took the time to formulate an obvious cause for your problems.

FUUUUCK

That's about my limit on stock voltage I guess, crashed on 1450mhz

son i am confucious

THE KING OF KINGS

Nobody?

>1060 Gaming X
3gb or 6gb?

>tfw cheaping out and buying a 1050

I'm a casual so I think it's just right for me anyway.

is the gt930m ok for a midrange laptop

light games from steam and dota.

Obviously RX 480

Worth the 240 eurobucks?
sapphiretech.com/productdetial.asp?pid=D3B743BC-5311-40E7-9537-43CB10AA150A&lang=eng

So useful for no normal user, it's the king of something alright

look at the image of the post he is referring to

The first thing that you should be considering when buying a GPU is what monitor setup you plan on using.

>if you're just using a single 1080p monitor, you can max out most new games and get around 60+ fps with the 1060 or 480
>if you use more monitors, you need more VRAM
>if you use 1440p, the 1060 and 480 are also acceptable
>beyond that is 1070 and 1080 territory
>if you're going 144hz, you should also consider Freesync and G-Sync
>Freesync monitors are much cheaper but only AMD compatible
>G-Sync (nVidia) monitors are expensive as fuck, like twice the cost for the same function

>Sapphire
>expensive

The one I got was even cheaper than the reference one.

>memes: the post

Vegaaaaaaaaaaa wheeeeeeennnnnnn

FUCKING JEWS

can someone tell me why the best 1070 is Zotac? hearing this a lot but not a lot of reviews out :/

Also small reminder that if you need backwards compatibility for VGA/DVI monitors depending on your motherboard's outputs you could also enable IGD to use both GPU and motherboard outputs.

I've got the 980ti and it performs like a beast. However on BF1 I get some pretty varying frame rates. On the castle map it goes down to 48 FPS / 38 FPS during some parts but after it stays relative low after that even during less demanding parts. I've got an FX8350 with DDR3-1866 ram. Maybe a new CPU/RAM upgrade?

Waiting for the 1080ti like a negro waitin' for the 1st and the 15th.

My 480 ended up 1440mhz Max for Stock Voltage
-[144mV for stock mhz undervolting

Guess I ended up with a pretty good card
