IDA Pro disassembler

Why is it so hard to pirate?

They always figure out how to disable any crack.

>why do the professionals creating a disassembler know how to prevent REing?

wow gee i don't know

>Why is it so hard to pirate?
Its not?

>IDA license starts at $589 for Starter and $1,129 for Pro
>Starter version can't disassembler 64-bit binaries

Is there a good alternative?

I hear Hopper is pretty good, but it doesn't have Windows support, and most binaries that I want to reverse engineer are for Windows.

Just buy a mac

lol what are you poor

I have a Mac.

I want to disassemble Windows binaries, not just macOS binaries.

Just use radare.

>radare
it's 10x more difficult than vim to become proficient. it can't do a lot of shit that IDAPro can.

Seriously?

radare.org/r/pics.html

As for the "lot of shit", can you be specific?

Full disclosure: I'm a r2 dev.

Does someone pay you to develop radare?

On IDA anti-piracy crazyness:

Nopes. On and off, on my free time only.

Not getting much sleep.

you're kidding me, right? radare is so fucking hard to me.

I watched this: youtube.com/watch?v=fnpBy3wWabA

and still found it hard. there's like no documentation for it.

>Why is it so hard to pirate?
>They always figure out how to disable any crack.
for the same reason why it's next to impossible to scam a professional thief.

>tfw Hex-Rays refuse to sell you a license if you had installed a pirate version before, and they detected a ping back from your IP

It's not that bad. Besides that recent talk and other plenty of talks and tutorials, there's:

radare.org/r/docs.html

We're in #radare @ freenode, and relatively friendly.

Maybe we can help you figure out how to do whatever you're trying to do? :)

>not installing it in a VM which isnt connected to the internet
Anyways because OP is retarded here is a magnet link for you

thanks user! links saved. will join the IRC channel sometime this week.

If you're stuck yet you want to learn how to revengineer, install macos and then download cracked Hopper.

hopperapp.com/

it can disassemble mac, iOS, windows(32bit/64bit), Linux ELF etc. It's like a smaller brother of IDAPro. It can do pretty much everything you'll ever want.

PS: Denuvo game was cracked using Hopper few weeks ago.

dude, if anyone knows how to thwart crackers it'd be the IDA devs

>save files are watermarked so that it can be traced back to a specific licensee

Jesus Christ

>PS: Denuvo game was cracked using Hopper few weeks ago.
Source?

And they don't sell licenses to individuals anymore.

IDA devs are crazy, and IDA should generally be avoided.

IDA Pro is very easy to crack. We just dont release to public because no one cares or gives us a challenge.

VMProtect
>lol
Denuvo
>roflmao
Anything else
>r u even trying?

git gud or become a radare developer and pretend you know asm/RE

disassemble the windows binaries on MacOS.....

Publishers often refer to copying they don't approve of as “piracy.” In this way, they imply that it is ethically equivalent to attacking ships on the high seas, kidnapping and murdering the people on them. Based on such propaganda, they have procured laws in most of the world to forbid copying in most (or sometimes all) circumstances. (They are still pressuring to make these prohibitions more complete.)

If you don't believe that copying not approved by the publisher is just like kidnapping and murder, you might prefer not to use the word “piracy” to describe it. Neutral terms such as “unauthorized copying” (or “prohibited copying” for the situation where it is illegal) are available for use instead. Some of us might even prefer to use a positive term such as “sharing information with your neighbor.”
