Word is Win10 is getting yet another UI update soon, changing how the taskbar/start will look.
All of my research turns up nil when it comes to disabling Win10 from constantly being connected to the internet and downloading updates automatically. Guess we'll be getting this update whether we want it or not.
Anyone know a way to completely disable Win10 from auto updating?

Disabling the automatic updates was trivial at most, and I don't understand why almost no one can figure out how to do it.
1. Check off the 'defer updates' option. This won't prevent your system from auto updating, but it will make it more rare.
2. Set your wifi connection as metered. This will actually prevent windows from downloading updates indefinitely. Whenever you do want to update you just go to the update menu and click on 'check for updates' or whatever.

You cannot disable 10 from auto updating, period. It's designed as such. Regardless of what 'version' you have of 10, it will always auto update/install.

I swear to god I dont understand you people, I installed W10 some months ago and it ASKS you if you want Cortana, same with most of telemetry, my W10 never updates, it doesnt even notify me actively about updates and I didnt even messed with the registry, there are regular settings you can turn off, nothing hidden and secret.
