only a retard would spend time on this

Please define "retard", I think you didn't understand.

>retard
>delay or hold back in terms of progress or development
Everyone knows (except retards) that neural network upscalers failed. Madshi should evolve and works on real next gen technologies.

>linear algebra == stone age
>neural networks == computer age

>d3d == m$ age
>opengl == retarded linux fags age
>vulkan == future age

Hello haasn, keep going, I am with you to destroy the reign of directx.

My machine is ready.
pacman -S xf86-video-intel mesa-libgl lib32-mesa-libgl vulkan-intel

>gist.github.com/igv
Why is KrigBilateral.glsl the only shader with comparison?

Hey madvr users!
Do you really consider that "picture related" is easier than the mpv.conf?

Enjoy your dumb botnet.

I was going to try madvr but gave up when I saw this.

... :D

He is working on simpler interface but I suspect he will just add a combobox with let madVR decide.

The plex/mpv/rtorrent software can't beat the ultimate setup:

- kodi-dsplayer
- lavfilters
- sanear
- madvr
- assfiltermod
- quasar/burst

Madshi btfo freetards yet again.

literally kill yourself out of Sup Forums

when will mpv become it's own operating system

Only madvr is closed source ... It's like using your GPU driver ...

is this better than vlc? dont want to tinker it, just want it to work

Stay on VLC, dumb normie.

>is this better than vlc?
Yes.

Is there a way to try different options like upscaling without restarting the player? madVR can do it

g cycle-values scale ewa_lanczos ewa_lanczossharp ewa_lanczossoft haasnsoft

What cscale do?

I've been enjoying mpv for a couple months with the default settings. Is it worth spending a couple hours messing with config options? I have a recent GPU if that matters

Holy shit, thanks, that's even better than madVR

Does opengl-hq enable interpolation or do i need to manually enable it?

You have to enable it manually!

OpenCL 2.0 and/or Vulkan support?

Vulkan™

Is it really better?

firstpostbestpost

only a retard would spend 3 hours learning this shit instead of downloading itunes and having 99% of the same features

you're like those faggots who buy shit so their wires don't touch the floor; nothing that you do matters, you're pathetic, the only value you get out of it is telling others about it and feeling smug while everyone sees you as the fucking retard that you are

Spending 3 hours to sync retarded iTunes songs from iCloud is the retardest thing to do. Please don't be so stupid.

scale ngu neural-enhance super-haasn when?

Probably never.

opengl-shaders ngu neural-enhance super-haasn when?

First of April

I can't wait anymore, please do it now !

Soon

Are you kidding me? Proove it!

Yeah!!!

Pyqt5 or .net standard for a cross-platform gui?

How do I make it that dragging a file into the player window appends it to the playlist rather than replaces it?

I.e. how do I get the standard behavior while holding shift for drag and drop with no modifier pressed?

I think I've managed to get this working try it out.
0x0.st/4JD.lua

Recently updated nvidia drivers to v378, mpv is getting 100% cpu usage on a single thread. Rolled back to v375 and everything is fine.
Anyone else having this issue?

github.com/mpv-player/mpv/issues/4060
yes turn off gl threaded optimizations

thanks senpai, worked perfectly

new version. I think it's better in that it can accommodate very fast "fast" modes, I've been trying it with 4x
0x0.st/4JC.lua

how do I change subtitle typeface in mpv?

I need to mask the retardation of some subtitles switching lowercase L for capital case I?

How tho?

sub-font='whatever'
Try ctrl+f in the manual before asking simple questions.

sub-font="whatever the fuck you want"

yeah, manual disabling works for now but some dev better notify nvidia about their voodoo optimization is not working properly for mpv

tahoma looks fine
also retards
link to the manual and where did you just use some search to find results for this

>watching Futurama with subtitles
>German subtitles even
Literally kill yourself.

its called learning you faggot

Whether you're trying to learn German or English here, you won't do so by watching Futurama.

It worked for english
works pretty nice with german too
you probably know single language so you dont understand
but theres always point where you have abandon just learning grammar and enlarging vocabulary.. you need to get exposed and see how it all fits

you can literally learn language from fairy tales for toddlers, or from porn with stories... doesnt matter, only thing that matters is that you are exposed to the language

i am a dirty plebeian heretic

At least you know.

Right, and I've learned Japanese from watching my subtitled animu.

What can actually work is to watch some work in its native language, i.e. a French movie in French and with French subtitles in case you don't know how a word is spelled. But that only makes sense after you've gained some fundamental understanding of the language.

Watching foreign dubs or translated subs (whichever you're doing there) is retarded.

You've been spoonfed enough faggot, apply yourself a little.

>non retards
>not using mpv
I feel as though you are mightily assmad about other video players being superior in everyway.

>Right, and I've learned Japanese from watching my subtitled animu.
doubt that

>Watching foreign dubs or translated subs (whichever you're doing there) is retarded.
its dubbed in german too
and its working fine, dont worry about details weaboo
the loss of some native feel to the phrases is offset by me actually knowing the dialogs very well which helps immensely. And also me being interested in it while it being relatively easy on the complexity of dialogs

stick to mpv, thats your job here
and try it again with anime, after all its native language there, it should be all that matters

>>Right, and I've learned Japanese from watching my subtitled animu

Not him, but that was obviously a sarcastic response to your anecdotal statement. Maybe you should go back to learning english and work on that reading comprehension.

Post it on the wiki!

>slowpoke

thank you mpv devs i love your software!

also thanks to the community for optimizing preset profile configurations and workarounds for minor bugs

>I was only pretending.
Go read up on sarcasm.

I want NGU now!

Are they really revising the whole scaling settings?

What???

Why do the sharpening shaders have so high default value!
For movies with lot of noises I use these on madVR:
Crispen edges 0.1
LumaSharpen 0.30,
AdaptiveSharpen 0.1

But for clean sources, I use:
Crispen edges 0.3
LumaSharpen 0.45
AdaptiveSharpen 0.3

AdaptiveSharpen with value > 0.5 is just an oil painting filter!
I begin to understand why people hate sharpening so much.

>citation needed

Mpv is faster, better, stabler, and fucking simpler than configuring all these directshow shits.

maybe you should see exchanges involving sarcasm more often
a quite common retort to someone being sarcastic is to react to it as if they are serious, continuing within the sarcasm spirit
that usually put them on the defensive as they struggle now desperately to explain that they were not being serious initially

eg. scene from archer

can you explain how mpv is better than vlc, both being open source? genuinely interested.

also does it autoupdate

video-sync=display-resample is making mpv stutter/freeze
does this happen to anybody else?

What's your GPU and platform?
If you are on windows, try opengl-backend=dxinterop in your mpv.conf.

Sauce?

So, what's next for mpv?

--sub-gauss=
Apply Gaussian blur to image subtitles (default: 0). This can help to make pixelated DVD/Vobsubs look nicer. A value other than 0 also
switches to software subtitle scaling. Might be slow.

NOTE:
Never applied to text subtitles.

--sub-gray
Convert image subtitles to grayscale. Can help to make yellow DVD/Vobsubs look nicer.

NOTE:
Never applied to text subtitles

Did you enable interpolation too?

done
"speed-between-subs"

DSPlayer is literally abandoned and never stopped being buggy as fuck
Just like half of the other shit in your list

What should I use for --cscale & --tscale on a fast PC?

scale=haasnsoft
cscale=ewa_lanczos

You aren't autistic enough.

>/mpv/ - player for videophiles retards

Fix'd

No it works perfectly, the x64 version is very stable. Aracnoz develops it actively and switched to the new kodi architecture. It is much better than plex and everything based on mpv!

Plex is a media streaming server. Kodi is a media player. Do you not understand that these are different? I use Kodi to watch videos streamed from my Plex server.

do the mpv devz still not realize that there's a taskbar in windows? or are they too lazy to scale the program correctly?

They probably don't use Windows and don't give a shit about Windows users. Why don't you use a real operating system rather than a childs toy?

Kodi has webserver too with streaming feature and much better web interface.

Since people are being meanie:
mpv.io/manual

Holy shit! It was a paid feature to play videos from desktop!
plex.tv/blog/plex-media-player-now-ambidextrous-free-kodi-said/

Is there something like LibreElec for s905 aarch64 chipsets in the Plex galaxy?

What are the visual benefits of mpv over VLC, in technical terms?

Go to mpv.io and the github repo.
