What's the best "just werks" distro?

Trisquel

Windows.

fedora, ubuntu, debian

For me it's Xubuntu because I don't like unity that much.

Deepin

Arch. It just werks once you've configured it.

xubuntu fo' sho

W10

Lubuntu if you want simple "just werks"
OpenSUSE if you want many GUI configuration possibilities

Fedora of course.
It is Red Hat sponsored, whatever changes in Fedora, changes for everyone else. Consider it the main branch, CentOS/Oracle Linux are stable versions of Fedora but its applications are pretty old.
>insert the distro i use {here}

Pretty much all of them. Sadly, the security issues have increased almost in step with each move towards "just werking", though. I guess that's the barometer for success these days.

Hackintosh.

everything else is a giant fucking timesink.

Windows 7

Windows just works and is the most used operating system in the world.

>hackintosh
>not a timesink

Hackintosh was a timesink before but it hasn't been one in over two years. All the drivers are there and if you buy tested/recommnded hardware, you will have ZERO issues.

I've built a new Hackintosh two months ago, to replace my old one, and install was painless. Everything worked out of the box including Bluetooth, iMessage and Wifi.

Slackware but you don't believe me.

Lubuntu, because it 'just werks' on a lot of crap I've tried it on.

Ubuntu MATE for Debian/Ubuntu derivatives.
Manjaro for Arch derivatives.
