Laravel is a horrible turd.
Sure, it seems nice at first, being full of convenient features and allowing you to hook into everything, but that shit's not free.
Laravel is like thousands of layers of abstraction and runtime checks. PHP was not made for nice code, especially not for nice code with compile time checks.
Node is also horrible, though. Just less than PHP crap.
