If im considering a g4650 or possibly a i3 6100 build right now, would it make sense to wait for ryzen 3?

Ryzen R3 won't come before second half of 2017 and idk if they will offer a CPU for $60. G4560 is always a good buy imho.

my 270x crossfires suck. for 1080 gaming, the 480 is still the gpu of choice right?

current specs

poorfag here, whats the best setup for gaming

i5 or i7 for high end gaming?

I need a GPU to pair with an FX 6300 for 1080p.

1050 ti or RX 470?

Alrighty here, tell me if there is anything I could improve, because you dudes know more about PC's than me.

pcpartpicker.com/list/9tqk7h

I know your pain from previous experience, I bought a cheap 290 and it worked a treat, maybe look at a 380/390 if money is an issue

Otherwise get a 1060 or a 480 would do

I'd personally get a better case, if you're forking out a lot of money for a machine don't skimp out on a nice case

1080 ti is coming out soon but they have a Step-Up program that allows you to trade in your 1080 for a ti when it comes out if you're interested.

Pirate Windows 10 to save dollars.

pcpartpicker.com/list/9qhZHN

Help me out with this shit, guys. This will be my first PC ever and I need some advice. Particularly about the monitor. How does it look?

was looking at a 390x or a 480. lets see what ebay has to offer.

Windows 10 sounds good
Don't have the 1080 yet

Already got the case, I think it's pretty nice.

both perform similarly so get the cheapest

21.5" is pretty small for gaming if you want to do that, you want at least 23/24"

How does this look?
pcpartpicker.com/product/mWV48d/benq-monitor-gl2460hm

Or should I get this one?
pcpartpicker.com/product/yjrG3C/asus-monitor-vs248hp

pcpartpicker.com/list/fW6cVY

I don't have a strict budget, around 1200-1300 before peripherals. This would be for gaming at 60 fps but also going a bit overkill for fun and to last a few years.

Any noticeable improvements I could make without adding more than 75-100 dollars more?

Why aren't you getting a Kaby Lake CPU and Z270 mobo? Also, you don't necessarily need the black version of the WD drive. I would personally get a Toshiba drive. You are best off getting the Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB SSD too.

well for the same price as a 390x i got this

Great advice, thanks senpai

No problem, ask away if you have any more questions.

Sorry I know this question is lame but thought maybe making this its own thread seemed lamer.

I found a computer on IBuyPower.com and it seemed fairly close to the 1,150 dollar setup that was on logicalincrements.com/

Was wondering why that wouldn't be a smart idea? Should I just wait for those motherboards to come back in stock? I was thinking of buying a built computer tonight but everywhere had these suggested motherboards sold out.

I can copypaste my build if anyone cares. Also will listen if there is a more reputable computer sales company because I have a feeling like this place is considered 'Reddit' or some shit.

In Australia a build with a i5 6600K and R7 1700 is the same price (Z270 board is more expensive and need to add cost if cooler). What is the better value proposition for a general mixed use case (work tasks, gaming)?

Reminder that Cannonlake and coffeelake come out in 1-2 years so JUST WAIT

Yeah but I'm building my computer this year. And why buy an Intel chipset when you could just get Ryzen 5 or 3?

pcpartpicker.com/list/yKmJPs

anything else? i added a network card because there is no way for me to connect to my trouter through ethernet

I'm just fucking around, trying to see how many people I can piss off

Finally got my first PC up and running after ~5 hours of building coupled with months of research/asking retarded questions on /pcbg/. Thanks for all the help, family.

Found a what sounds a like a good deal form gumtree. AMD 6300 with mobo 2x4gb ram with a t40 for $175 AU
Should I jump on that?

I've had an i5 4670 (non-K version) for 4 years now, and was thinking of getting a r7 1700

mainly because I've noticed CPU bottlenecks in games, I can't overclock it, the video rendering performance sucks, and QSV records lossy looking video, so getting a cpu with 8 cores and 16 threads would allow me to record/stream in x264, which looks better than what QSV encodes

will game performance be adversely affected, or will it be pretty much the same?

u doin gods work dog

pcpartpicker.com/list/LTb9XH
Anything inherently wrong with it? Anything that is overkill besides the CPU? My budget can go a couple hundred higher, playin vidya (all sorts) and streaming

Looks fine to me, 750w is a lot but thats up to you.

>Building
You're merely ASSEMBLING prebuilt components, friend-o :)

>You're merely ASSEMBLING prebuilt components
It's a lot of fun non the less, you should give it a try, friend-o :)

can someone explain to me what all the ryzen fuss is about?

sure its all new and not optimized, the win7 thing etc

but the i5 7600k is like $140 cheaper than the 1700

why would you ever want the ryzen? if youre retarded enough to spend loads of money on the 1800x why not just buy the i7 7700k for $215 less?

Ryzen is great for grown-ups who don't play video games.

470 is way better than 1050ti

you could say the same thing about building a house or a guitar or almost anything
be gone with your sophistry

planing on purchasing another 390x and 4k monitor since 390x realy cheap and almost same as rx 480

5-10% of an 4c i7 for gameing with 8c16t.

What Intel users need to ask themselves is what happens when they increase clockspeed by 20% or so in the ryzen 4c...

Finally a new /pcbg/. Take a look at the new build. Dubs decides her name Ill roll first for Princess Elsa. Comments and criticisms welcome
pcpartpicker.com/list/gh24jc

rate my ebic gaming build guys
pcpartpicker.com/list/kmpJPs

No but really. Just trying set up something cheap as fuck to sit up on a shelf in my garage plugged into my 72" 1080p TV for streaming car videos/youtube how-tos when im working on shit/streaming music and also just storage of random movies and shit - maybe porn, who knows. All media shit. No gaymes or demanding productive shit.

I'm buying it and you can't stop me.

amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06X3W9NGG/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=6738&creativeASIN=B06X3W9NGG&linkCode=as2&tag=thedaionl-21

pcpartpicker.com/list/7Jpz9W

Can I make it better? Games, web dev, game dev, and VM... I am well over my budget, but I am not sorry lol Tho wondering if I could make it better

Currently sitting on an old gtx 570. Would the gtx 1050ti be an improvement?

pcpartpicker.com/list/gpHq9W
Bow down before me

Shit/10. Shit psu, no graphics card, shit 4GB RAM.
pcpartpicker.com/list/4tvCKZ Fixed it for you.
Shit GPU, overpriced RAM, shit white case, shit fans, shit mouse and keyboard. Also what the fuck are you doing with 2 CPU coolers?
pcpartpicker.com/list/vdKbr7 Fixed most of it.

I don't want to go over 600 euro with my PC but I'm not sure which would be better. i5 7500 with gtx 1050ti or and i3 6100 with gtx 1060 3gb, maybe 6gb?

I know they're not 144hz/4K meme monitors, I bought two Dell Ultrasharp U2515Hs and they're the most beautiful monitors I've ever used.

Why on earth would anynone buy a 1050ti when the 470 is only like 30 bucks more?
The 470 nitro+ cucks the living shit out of the 1050ti

Which country?
There is no reason to buy the 6100 nor the 1060 3gb.

M8 go with used stuff rather than buying new. 600 bucks can get you a 4k capable machine with used parts.

Austria.

>Would the gtx 1050ti be an improvement?
Yes but a 1060 would be better, it depends on how much you're willing to spend and your current setup.

I'm the same guy as The problem I'm having is either get the better graphics card with a weaker processor or a better processor with a weaker graphics card since those two parts are really the only ones where the price differs much. The other stuff, psu ram etc I can't cheap out on.

Around what time in Q2 will Ryzen 5 be released?

Trying to decide between a corsair cx550m or seasonic m12ii 620w psu.
Reviews say the seasonic is quieter and more reliable, but heard the circuitry design is outdated and isn't compatible with power saving modes in Haswell onwards. Does that make a difference?
The cx550m is a newer design thats haswell compatible, but doesn't have the track record seasonic has.
Any suggestions on which one to pick?

Whats your old setup with the gtx 570?

Any good case recommendations? I currently have a Fractal R4 but there are some annoying rattles every now and then so for my new build I'm just gonna get something else rather than reuse. Like $150 max.

Should be end of May - beginning of June.

>tfw will most likely be building my PC in May
Should I just pull the trigger on an intel CPU and mobo?

Some 4 or 5 year old pre built toaster which in the beginning had a 550ti. Apart from gpc and cpu I'd go with a seasonic 520 psu, 2x4gb ballistix ram, corsair case and some 50 euro msi mobo.

Go with the 7500, you could try selling your old hardware if you're not too attach to it to get a better gpu. You could also consider an RX470.

pcpartpicker.com/list/WVwKM8

How is this? Have already started buying the smaller parts but will most likely be buying the GPU, CPU, mobo, PSU, and monitor together.

Looks good, you could find a mobo with integrated wifi that be cheaper then buying separately

1080p ultrawide gaming, I don't necessarily mind turning down settings a little bit if I have too.
Anything better I can get for the same price?
pcpartpicker.com/list/9rc7d6

Sorry for the stupid question, but where is that option? I can't find that filter option on pcpartpicker.

pcpartpicker.com/list/GVgHQV

Trying to throw together a media server/htpc/emulator machine. Anyway I can shave off any dollars?

disclaimer: this would be my first build

why would anyone build a gaming pc

there are 0 good games out right now

ZERO

It's under "Wireless Networking" on the left side.

you don't exactly have mass storage that I would expect out of an htpc/media server
personally if you were going for 4k I'd get an rx 460
I know my recommendations would make the rig more expensive but those are my recommendations

I forgot to mention I already have some hdds, so i left them off the list. I don't have a 4K TV so that's not a worry of mine, but duly noted

good deal. It looks pretty good then.

Without stirring up shitposting, would it be a better buy if I went with a 7700k + mobo that supports oc'ing or a 1700 + b350? Largely going to be playing 1440p gaming and that's it. I *might* do simple 3d rendering in the future, but that's a slim chance.
I'm super on the fence because of the uncertainty of unstable new architecture and the fact that most b350 boards are sold out and I need this build by the end of next week.

Most B-series mobos don't have onboard wifi, which would force me to get a Z-series one. This would basically force me to get a heatsink, a K-series intel CPU, AND a Z-series mobo, which is ultimately much more expensive than my original build.

I have heard EVGA Nex-series PSUs aren't very good. Get the G2.

Are you on a budget? Because if not I would suggest the R7. If you are though, just get the cheapest of the two because there isn't that big of a gaming difference.

thanks friend

FUCKING SHIP MY MOTHERBOARD ALREADY GODDAMN IT THE CPU SHIPPED THREE DAYS AGO I CAN'T DO SHIT WITH JUST THAT HOLY FUCK AMAZON

In my experience, externals are way better at signal strength and speed. The actually good external wifi dongles usually run you about 30-40 bucks.

Why the R7 over intel, specifically? Budget wouldn't be a big problem as the price difference between the two considering boards and heatsinks wouldn't be more than 50 burgers.

R7 has preformed considerably better than intel in production benchmarks and such. The difference is negligible in vidya but that's just my opinion. If you can, get ryzen since its cheaper and more or less has the same performance as intel.

That's what I figured and why I was planning on getting an external. How does this one look?

pcpartpicker.com/product/tTdqqs/gigabyte-wireless-network-card-gcwb867di

That's what I've seen too. On a related note, its it correct that the r7 series doesn't have any sort of integrated graphics?

I like the added bluetooth functionality but have always used usb sticks with an extension to place the stick itself in an open area to get a good signal. If you do decide to go with that one, I would just recommend to not cramp the antennas between a wall and your pc.

Should I buy a rx 480 now or wait for vega ?
Or should I spend more and buy a 1070 ?

I haven't heard anything about that sorry, so I can't help you. If it doesn't say anything about it on the CPU then I would assume not though.

I bought parts from Newegg, NCIX, B&H, and Outlet PC on Tuesday and they all came by Friday.

I will keep that in mind, thank you.

ok /pcbg/, help me out.

i just came home yesterday after a 2 month work trip and my (old as fuck) pc died on me.

is this setup alright to run loonix for Database and Dev stuff in a VM while having a win 10 main partition for (light) gaymen and Visual Studio?

any improvements?

Youre an idiot

pcpartpicker.com/list/BMMrLD
Any last tweaks before I start purchasing?

Why do you have 2 cpu coolers? Also don't cheap out on the psu, get something gold certified.

Is a four core CPU a must nowadays for general gaming? Debating i3 vs waiting for lower cost Ryzen

Ones a gpu cooler

pcpartpicker.com/list/mjdwpb
looking for some improvements on my g4560 budget build. i'd like it to be cheaper (450-500) but if this is as optimal as i can get then it'll do. although i'm wondering if the rx470 is ideal for this build, or if i should downgrade to a GTX1050Ti

Looks good

Any good websites for buying used and recycled components on the cheap apart from ebay and amazon? Looking to make a seedbox, most people are asking $100+ for their shitty old prebuilts on local ads and my local recycling center is asking $50+ for refurbished early 2000's computers with IDE interfaces last time i was there, might go take a look see if i can buy individual components for cheap.

My budget is around 1200 dollars and it's for gaming in general. I don't have a case added because 1) I don't know which one to get and 2) I still have a case that should work if I gut it of the parts I'm replacing. Already have Windows 7 on another HDD and a 650w PSU from the old computer case. I'd like some critique if I'm fucking something entirely up or if you have a good idea for a nice case or what.
pcpartpicker.com/list/9Hfjhq

pcpartpicker.com/list/FkLB9W

Do you really need the optical drive? If you're only running at 1080p then ignore the 1080 and stick with the 1070 unless you planning on upping to 1440p+ later.
