MIDI is a method of controlling software based instruments or storing musical notes in a file without having any sound attached to it.
If you have a software instrument, lets say a software piano, MIDI is how you get it to play. It's usually used on Keyboards (that look like piano keys) but can be used to control just about any parameter in digital audio. its very versatile.
If you have a .mid file with some notes in, lets say a MIDI version of Beethoven's Fifth, you could play it through a software piano, guitar, synthesizer, whatever and they would all play the notes just on different instruments.

It comes with an OS but it's utter shit, install armbian based on Debian.
The Zero is what I bought for my purpose but it's very minimal and only manage it via SSH, The Orange pi One has an HDMI port.
There are also expansion boards for these things.

I have the 8bitdo FC30 and the GameSir G3V, both have great analog sticks. The G3V/G3S have lights on the buttonss, shoulder buttons are more or less like the PS4 ones and are actually analog. I find the GameSir more comfortable to hold but the FC30 is more portable.

When I got in to the RC plane thing all RC engines I found wanted nitromethane fuel. I'm wonder if that's really a methanol engine and not a nitromethane engine that got lost in translation. I never saw a gasoline engine and I'm not sure why nitromethane was the preferred fuel. If you can find a RC hobby shop you'll never have problems getting nitromethane. A gallon will last a long time anyway.
