Every iPhone is guaranteed the latest security updates for at least three years after release. Even the iPhone 5, released in 2013, is still getting security updates.

Why doesn't the same happen for Android devices?

>security

Because Android is a shitty fragmented mobile OS like Winshit.

They'd rather have people buy a new phone than support older ones.

>released in 2013

You mean 2012?

Cell phones cause cancer, reproductive problems, and brain damage.

It's funny actually. Apple wants the same, but still prefers delivering good support.

Security updates are getting pushed ota via google play services by google so the oems don't need to do it for themselves. ofc not every device does it this way, to be honest I don't even know whether onnly some devices do it this way or if it depends on the android version. the only thing I know is that more and more kinds of different security problems are getting patched this way in the future. am phoneposting, search for a source by yourself

Because OEMs and cellular carriers are lazy faggots. You're better off installing a custom ROM from day 1.

Pretty much this, but consumers are also kinda at fault her for accepting this behavior.

I'm the user you replied to. Completely agree.

Just a reminder, iPhones are much more secure than Android phones. Supported by a lot of security experts.

wtf im sad now.

Reminder that most iShits become unusable trash after a year of updates and planned obsolescence and will never even last past 2 years at most.

Because Android is abandonware.

Poo in the fucking loo Rajeesh.

its generally accepted in Sup Forums that macOS and iOS, compared to other proprietary offerings, are the best choices. Snowden endorses apple out of other major tech companies too.

people arguing otherwise are vocal minorities craving attention.

Because iPhone is one device by one manufacturer. It's a hell of a lot easier to implement. Google should just set up a sort of update hub for users to visit and be done with it.

Apple is safe against government agencies, but you still have to worry about Apple themselves datamining your ass.

Every Pixel / Nexus is guaranteed at least 3 years of monthly security updates. Security isn't tied to the OS version.

>safe against government agencies
lmao

Android = uncircumcised penis. More fun and you can do more things with it (docking, etc), but you're more likely to hurt yourself (tearing the frenelum, being at a higher risk of STDs). Also it literally has a skin covering it (foreskin or the manufacturers skin on top of Android).

iOS = circumcised penis. Looks better and is safer, but is less fun and you can do less with it.

oi snoop

Nexus and Pixel phones get security updates for at least 3 years too. It all depends on the manufacturer on whether or not to provide the updates.

Are you too poor, to buy a phone every two years?
