I bought an Iomega Zip drive for $2 at Goodwill and I want to use it as a keycard lock system for my cargo container.

Example: I insert a zip disk into the drive, the drive is connected to a raspberry pi, the disk has the authentification hash, the raspberry pi unlocks the container from inside.

Anyway, if you have anything to say about this, you better say it now

Stop trafficking prostitutes through our harbor, Polack.

nigga why a zip drive?

So his gpg key disk can be chewed up and shit all over at random intervals, for extra security, I guess.

Put a floppy in it

why not

Because he loves his zip disquetts

pretty much this

also i played the doom demo too much as a kid and am obsessed with brown areas with barrels and keycards

i actually dont own any disks yet but some idiot on ebay just sold me 30 unopened zip100 disks for $8

This post is all kinds of retarded.

I don't think he is the idiot here....

Step one: Try to work out a way to electronically unlock a shipping containers doors from the inside. If you can't do that don't even fucking bother with the Zip drive yet.

Actually, he would have to figure out how to lock a shipping container from the inside in the first place.

I think that problem was fixed by the time those drives were shipping

Zio disks are unreliable. Your disk will shit itself and then your scheme will fail.

bluetooth would be a better solution for locking
