Press F to remember the good times when this was the fastest, most innovative browser instead of the bloated, laggy, CPU-raping, RAM-leaking, dying leftist SJW-infested pile of garbage it is today.

why? It works fine for me. learn how to use about:config

Haha you said sjw unironically. Your dumb, very sorry foour you.

It's shit compared to Chromium, Opera and Vivaldi. The whole extension change deal will be the final nail in Mozilla's cofin

lol butthurt SJW detected.

t. redditor trash

It's still better than any Chromium-based browser

Palemoons time is now

>Your dumb.
Nice one.

I wish, I switched from FF to Chromium, after seeing the difference it's impossible going back to Firecucks.

Palemoon sucks dick too, fucking thing can't even render video sites without getting laggy. And not all extensions (aka Firefox's main appeal) don't even work on it.

Use SeaMonkey

It is the closest thing to FireFox 3 that isn't too outdated (it isn't bleeding edge) and is not a placebo like PaleMoon.

Fuck the chromenet

speeds are fine for me. it might be a few miliseconds slower than chromium based browsers but its negligable.

I can open hundreds of tabs on Chromium an the browser won't get too laggy and shit itself, unlike FF/Palemoon (which is funny, since Firefox 3 could open 1000 tabs in a 4GB RAM machine and still worked ok).

Firefox extensions are about to die now though

Fuck off Google shill.
F
>I can open hundreds of tabs
But why? You're not looking at them all at once and there is no reason you need to keep that many open.

>HURRDURR ONLY CHROME IS BETTER THAN FF

Firecucks is so bad it's making even Edge a viable option.

>being a casualfag that only checks his instagram and reddit on his phone

I fucking hate normies so much.

>extension change deal
I can't find any source for this.

You didnt answer the question. Why do you need hundreds of tabs open at once?

Research, multi-tasking, read-later things, video downloading, (((((porn)))), work references, chatting, news reading, Sup Forums shitposting across boards, image browsing, shopping, auction watching, music listening.... there's no excuse why a modern browser can't keep so many tabs without going apeshit.

I cant see how that would be over 100 tabs

That's because you're a nomie who only posts duckfaces on instagram, not a power user with lots of things to do.

And you use Chrome for that? LMAO good luck with keeping them organized or God forbid you have to restart your browser.

Nice projecting. I close tabs when I'm done with them or when they arent being used.

Chromium's vanilla tab management fucking sucks compared to FF, but I've found extensions that make it decent. Seriously HOW FUCKING HARD IS IT TO MAKE A FAST BROWSER WITH GOOD TAB MANAGEMENT!???????

Firefox is so shit it would still be laggy after closing tabs and crash eventually, I'm not having that problem with Chromium so far.

>Firefox is so shit it would still be laggy after closing tabs and crash eventually, I'm not having that problem with Chromium so far.
And I dont have that problem with Firefox. I guess use whats best for you, right?

Can't argue with that, all I'm asking is a browser that just werks for tab hoarders. Firefox 3 was the closest thing, it's been downhill since.

I don't know how ff handles 100+ tabs on windows but on linux and osx ff works like a charm. If iridium had treetabs I would try it.
t. vimfag who uses emacs for functional languages

I just use M-x w3m-goto-url

Still using Firefox (portable), now upgraded to Firefox ESR 52, no issues of note, Health Report say the last "crash" was in 2012 and this has been upgraded with each new version since 2011. No memory leaks, no real lag to speak of (no more than any other browser), still gets good scores on Javascript benchmarks versus the competition, 27 addons, 13 user scripts, absolutely no problems whatsoever.

OP, you just have no luck with browsers and software.

Or you're fucking stupid.

>stupid fucking people will be the death of us all

How many open tabs you average?

I have 7 open at the moment, I've had as many as 45 open but I'm not stupid like most people and I don't leave 'em fucking open for hours and sometimes days at a time which is utter insanity but whatever.

Same installation in the same folder (again, portable) since Firefox 3 came out, upgraded through every version till Firefox ESR 28 came out then I switched to using only the ESR builds and that's what's been upgraded ever since.

Regardless, it works for me, it's heavily customized (you couldn't even tell it's Firefox by looking at it and I don't mean because of rounded tabs, I only use the Dev theme so the tabs are squared proper and I use Tab Mix Plus to start a new row after 10 tabs wide.

People having problems with Firefox over the past decade either don't have a fucking clue (the most likely solution) or they have machines and OS installs that are fucked up to begin with.

>I have 7 open at the moment

Well no wonder, ANY browser even shit tier old 2009 Internet Explorer works seamlessly with so few tabs open.

did you read the rest of his post?

See, the problem when dealing with stupid fucking people like that person is that they can't help themselves in rationalizing their own positions whatever they happen to be.

You can't fix stupid, the best you can hope to do is point it out whenever it crosses your path in the hopes of warning others so they'll avoid it and not get sucked down by it.

>stupid fucking people will be the death of us all

Irrelevant drivel, as I said old Firefox in 2008 could handle 1000+ open tabs just fine, new Firefox in 2017 can barely handle more than a couple dozen. What gives?

obvious shitpost is obvious

Not an argument. I'm genuinely interested on what changed.

>1000+ tabs in Firefox in 2008
>that would entail using more RAM than the motherboard was physically capable of
>your page file would expand itself constantly and perform so horribly on the SATA I hard drives and controllers that the machine would literally crawl

If you're going to lie, at least do it well meaning don't blow it so far out of proportion that your comment becomes dismissed as fucking stupidity immediately.

If you'd said maybe 100 tabs that would be believable.

Also, since Mozilla has every fucking build and version of Firefox that's ever been made available even right now on their FTP site why don't you go get Firefox 1.0 (it's only 4MB in size) and install it then let's see you open 1000+ fucking tabs on Vista or XP or even a Linux distro running on a Core Duo or Core 2 Duo machine with 1 or possibly 2GB of system RAM in it and then show us Task Manager or System Monitor or top or whatever you want, then show us a video of the machine actually working and doing other things with 1000+ tabs open.

Until you can do that and it plainly demonstrates the browser working perfectly with no lag or other issues and the system remains snappy and fast you should really just shut the fuck up.

Let's fork it and make it better. It is open source after all

>that would entail using more RAM than the motherboard was physically capable of
>your page file would expand itself constantly and perform so horribly on the SATA I hard drives and controllers that the machine would literally crawl

Back then I had 2GB of RAM and a core 2 Duo CPU. And it did worked, even if was laggy (but not unusable).

>If you're going to lie, at least do it well meaning don't blow it so far out of proportion that your comment becomes dismissed as fucking stupidity immediately.

Not a lie, hell I still have the saved sessions from back then somewhere.

No YOU do it if you want to prove me wrong so badly.

I deeply miss the colorfultabs extension that is not compatibe e10s

>No YOU

You actually said that. amazing.

Vivaldi.

On this note, what is a browser that is both not trash and not botnet?

>deflecting this hard with le ebin le oldfag meme XDDDD

the left is cancer, it eventually kills everything in the most horrible way.

>node.js and a ton of node.js/npm libraries on top of chromium
>explosive_vomitting_guy.png

this is such bullshit, if you try running 1000+ tabs on that hardware today any browser will shit itself. even back then without all the javascript shit it would be unusable.

Or maybe most sites started overloading their pages with too much unnecessary, resource consuming horseshit.

Fuck off, firefox is still great. Google is 10x more sjw than firefox

>implying I use (((((GOOGLE CHROMEEEEEEEE))))

Palememe?

Ungoogled Chromium master race.

You can't ungoogle that shit hahahaha

t. goon kike shill

Using Chromium here

it already has no jewgle API keys so no need to ungoogle it further

Of course the anti semites love chromium

kek
you obviously havent monitored your network traffic.

you obviously like using browsers made in the last year

>last stable ungoogled-chromium version was in december

wew enjoy your bugs

are you retarded? chromium still contacts google.

prove it

I've monitored my traffic. I can tell you haven't. Use what you want, just don't be mistaken.

What's a good browser? Currently using Waterfox and Palemoon but both are buggy pieces of shit and I don't trust FF or anything Joogle has it's nose in.

Obvious bait

Welp, palemoon is trash. Keeps crashing on me, so I went back to Vivaldi. Than I remember the one thing that fucking bugged me about it. Does anyone know how to remove the recent tab icon? Thing is such a fucking eyesore to me.

...

This is accurate if the brains represent botnets

But most people (normies) uses Chrome now

>power user
no

you're just all over the place

I don't get the Firefox shitposting in here. Nightly 64b. has been working for me ever since I switched.

Pick one

anyway

go kill yourself for shitting on the last free browser

on a daily basis

its payed shills most likely

you can see it for months now, every day a hate thread

FF becomes unusable on my T400. The lags are exruciating. Chromium is fine otoh. Why is FF so bad? I don't want to use Google.

>its payed shills most likely
That's what I'm thinking, it's kind of hard to believe that there are this many tech illiterates that don't know how to configure a browser on a technology board. But I guess we can't rule it out.

install waterfox

JUst go to any 1800X thread and its people posting nothing but game benchmarks.

it's Sup Forums's support board

You are assuming that webpages are static objects.

They are programs, user. Running programs that are constantly updating.

Video downloading, chatting, and music listening in a browser? And you have the audacity to call someone else a normie?

Skid confirmed.

Webdevs running a hundred .js tracker plugins on your machine when you click a link.

nigga i use ff on craptops with 1 or 2 gigs of ram
shit werks

either you did something wrong or refresh it in safe mode or something

i dont have a shit ton of addons tho

"Firefox is mozilla.org's premier Web browser. Firefox is available for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and many different languages. It's small, fast, easy to use, and has hundreds of themes and extensions available to make the browser even more powerful. Firefox is a quick download, 7.7MB on Windows, about 20 minutes with a dial-up connection, less than a minute with broadband speeds."

Not all in one session. And of course many of them will never be looked at. But merely opening the tabs is enough to placate my autism.

>fastest, most innovative browser
I don't care if it's fast.

Security is more important because your browser is the weakest point. Always.

DAILY REMINDER THAT FIREFOX IS PART OF THE AMAZON CLOUD BOTNET

F ;_;7

Just buy 16GiB of RAM already FF works perfectly for me

----------------------------------------------------
[posted from my Windows 10 system]

>installs tons of shitty plugins/addons
>complains that the browser gets slow

Underrated post.

On desktop Windows it sucks ass but in Android and Linux it's more like how it used to be back in the golden days I love it on my phone but hate it on desktop especially windows where chrome dominates

You don't like it then?

Is there a way to get chromium to auto notify of updates on windows?

It is the only thing stopping me from switching over on my windows PC. I don't want the chrome botnet either.

Chrome and Edge often have internet problems when I use them
Firefox always is consistent
Sorry man but firefox is the most reliable browser I have used

if you worry about the C1A then maybe you should cut your terrorist ties

Um....wtf? Seriously?
Is everything in the world about identity politics now?
Grow up.
