Avira is alright I guess... but the tray keeps popping up advertisements to buy more Avira products.... it's like having a virus, all these popups
Jackson Rivera
Really? Mine doesn't do that.
Did you install the multi thing or find a link to just the AV?
Camden Murphy
This is one nigeress I would not deport back to Africa if I was president.
Jacob Brown
shit... OK that would definitely solve the pop ups
Michael Wright
Avast; during installation, customize the installed components and uncheck everything except File Shield. After installation, set it to silent mode (stops offers to upgrade) and be sure to go into Defender and disable it further. (some systems have it run occasionally while avast is still running and slows down the system during that time)
Avira; still excellent if you're fine with the offers to upgrade every 24 hours (I used to be able to block the offers altogether, but unsure if that still works these days)
Elijah Rogers
Yeah, the pop ups are probably trying to get you to install everything like the vpn and browser and shit for "maximum protection".
Levi Garcia
If your computer is infected with the Windows 10 virus, you have already failed
Easton Long

What's a Virus matter when the whole chain has Herpes? Bastards...
Kayden Rodriguez
?? what??
what's wrong with linux? nothing... but not an option in this case....
Ethan Mitchell
Thanks checking out Avast it looks OK
Kaspersky is fucked now right?
Elijah Sullivan
Norton.
Gabriel Rivera
Is there something wrong with Defender?
Nathaniel Cruz
For Sup Forums you guys really don't know shit about cyber security.
Takes too much resources if u use your regular memepad Meme, already targeted by viruses confirmed Kaspersky has very good detection, but absolutely monstrous resource hog I'd rather be without an AV than with any Norton/Symantec product
Good options? Panda AV (real time, cloud based, low resources) and Webroot Everywhere(not sure if this is free)
Best option? COMODO. Free and comes with antivirus, malware protection, firewall and a sandbox.
Gabriel Turner
Whats wrong with Norton?
Caleb Edwards
I hear Common Sense 2017 Edition is really good. It takes up no resources and it has almost unparalleled detection rates. All for free too.
Kayden Sanders
This. Can't believe people are still falling for the antivirus meme in 2017. All they do is slow down your computer and increase the attack vector surface by introducing holes in the in-built security model
Just don't download dodgy exe's from the internet's and upload any program you absolutely have to run to virustotal to see if it is legit or not
Parker Sanders
Semen demon?
Blake Green
comodo avira bitdefender
Lincoln Walker
Yeah, but for my parents, they won't do that and will be calling me all the time asking me to fix shit or if ______ is a virus... need something automatic.... Was thinking of using Deep Freeze or similar to take snapshots, but with how often Windows likes to update a lot, not sure now if this is infeasible
Camden Wood
Haha I actually searched for it and then realized you actually meant common sense not the product.
Yes for me this would be fine but for my parents this is not necessarily the case
William Barnes
Plus neither don't have time or patience to teach Linux and they have little reason to learn Linux
Ayden Cook
>What program or combo of programs to prevent viruses? - You need a secured browser - You need common sense 2017 That's it.
Avast is not usable anymore. Recent update fucked up android emulation (bluestacks, cemu). The game I was playing became a stuttering sub 20 fps mess after I updated avast today. Uninstalled avast and everything went back to normal.
Are there any other lightweight AV's like avast?
Aiden Hall
Panda is free if you're not in the US.
Jacob Mitchell
It says it's only free for the first month.
Grayson Cook
So you're in the US?
Austin Bailey
I'm in Yuropoor but their site says only first month is free. Is AV even necessary nowadays? Wouldn't uBlock Origin and windows basic protection be enough?
>Fuck off. You need common sense to tell the false positives from the real positives. AVs also introduce additional vulnerabilities into systems that run them. Ones that don't get patched. Antivirus companies actively write viruses that their rival programs don't work against.
Stop supporting this garbage. Choose instead common sense and proper opsec
Joshua King
(((Schneier)))
I don't use cloud services, i don't visit shady websites, and I only look up porn on my tablet. What do I need an antivirus for?
Jack Cook
win 10 comes with windows defender alredy installed.
Christopher Watson
Listen, I uses Common Sense 2017 but they're great, not everyone is tech savvy. Do you expect a grandma to uses her computer safely?
I mean sure, they could have rules applied there and there, set her in 10 nat, restrict every .zip .exe etc.. I could go on.
But that would makes them a prisoner. I'll gladly support good anti-virus company in some cases.
Brayden Cruz
Lilis Rodriguez
Ryan Moore
>You need common sense You obviously didn't even listen to the video I posted. Right after talking about the importance of a good AV, Bruce Schneier talks about how the most important is having a good "bullshit detector". You still need an anti-virus though.
>Antivirus companies actively write viruses that their rival programs don't work against. Nice conspiracy theories, retard.
Nicholas Sanchez
Most if not all cryptographers are jewish. The IQ required is too high, and the ashkenazim race is the only one that makes the cut.
Aiden Evans
im just using windows defender cause its good in combination with common sense platinum edition
Sebastian Moore
Actually, they do in some ways. Before calling someone a retard, check your facts.
Gary Hendrix was working for Microsoft until he got ripped off and then created the first viruses against Windows and then created his own company.
I know this because it widely known in the our domain. As a IT Analyst, it's not surprising.
Yes they do make viruses but they're not spreading it around the globe. It's only to self-test their software against attacks. There's some insiders that do actually spread that shit like butter sadly.
Lincoln Gomez
>made up shit Hendrix never worked for Microsoft. He worked for SRI, then founded MIC (which failed), then founded Symantec (which he later left).
>tells me to check my facts >proceeds to spew literal lies Embarrassing.
Luis Davis
lol, believe that retard
Brody White
I just use Windows Defender and scan once a week with malwarebytes.
Is that good enough brehs?
Elijah Bailey
I'm 55 years old working in the industries for the past 30 years. Go eat your cereal please and leave.
There's no need calling someone a retard like I pointed him in my first post.
I'm just pointing facts that everyone knows in the business. It's like the CIA mess all over again, crying about conspiracy but then when the truth gets out they're jaw dropping.
Gabriel Gonzalez
This. I have had to use a virus removal tool only 3 times in the past 15 years. And that was all from a single fishy website that I liked going to. It would hijack the browser and immediately download a bunch of adware and then modify the computer. Before then I had a retarded brother who thought he could download a 120Kb pirated movie.
Wyatt Sullivan

>The IQ required is too high No. East Asians have higher IQs on average. Jews just practice nepotism more often.
Daniel Gray
Pirate NOD32, they don't check for stolen serial keys and it just shuts up and doesn't pop up
Elijah Martin
There's nothing wrong with eating cereal
John Fisher
Stop using Windows.
Liam Carter
East Asians do not have higher average IQs than the Ashkenazim not even in their wildest dreams.
Asian countries do report high average IQs, but that's only because most Asians are illiterate rice farmers and fishermen, and you need to be literate in order to take an IQ test. "Asians R smart" is a meme.
Now, besides maybe Jintai Ding, can you cite ONE, just one, major Asian name in crypto?
Jews on the other hand have developed basically all the major cryptosystems in widespread use today, most notably RSA.
Jewish names in crypto are abundant, just off the top of my head: Adi Shamir, Shai Halevi, Dan Boneh, Jacques Stern, Tal Rabin, etc....
You can go back to Sup Forums with your antisemitism now.

ESET Smart Security >low usage >no ads >only one pop up window about updates that can be turned off forever in seconds >fast scans

Avast or AVG

F-secure it seems. Cia had the most trouble with f-secure
Jordan Gutierrez
>It's racist to point out facts also >Not actually addressing the fact that Jews are actually practice nepotism as much Okay, fuckhead
Jordan Harris
you don't need 3rd party antivirus anymore since win8 just like no one ever need to care about defrag anymore since win7
Cameron Hernandez
>Asian countries do report high average IQs, but that's only because most Asians are illiterate rice farmers and fishermen this may be true for china and some parts of SEA but it is not true for south korea, and it's certainly not true for japan
also lol at >jews are the master race >what, you disagree? back to Sup Forums you fucking anti semite!
Austin Wright
anything ms is a virus per-se, you are calling to MS C&C Servers.
Charles Butler
