Nexus 7 was pretty great, I didn't really like the Nexus 9 even if it's just two inches bigger.

7 inches is the sweet spot.

Mine has lasted quite well

Because it's discontinued

Pile of shit.
It took 4 of them to find one without a massive touch screen grounding issue, and horrible screen.

you have trash luck.

how hard is it for a competitor to make a 7 inch android tablet?

why do they all suck or so expensive?

That's what happens when nobody fucking buys them. Processing power and battery life are just too fucking shit to be taken seriously.

Besides people already have 5.5" Android smartphones with HEVC/VP9 hardware decoders. A tablet seems pretty redundant and clunky compared to an Android smartphone.

I use mine every day in bed/toilet/whatnot

phone is too small to browse and watch movies

9+ inch too inconvenient to lug around

Yeah, I have one of those case/screen covers that folds into a little stand. I just lock screen orientation and it's comfy af for bed usage, and literally shitposting when I'm on the toilet(like right now). Plus I love the screen, except I've accidently fallen asleep with it in bed, and pushed my earbuds into the screen leaving permanent discoloration in some little spots.

What's the point of a 7inch tablet when you have a 5.5-5.7in phone?

8in is the sweet spot

looking for 1280x800 android tablet 7 inch with 6+ hours battery

any good ones around $100 USD

That's what she said.

Meme aside I can't see a 7 inch tablet being good. Nexus 6 is still clearly a phone and I can't imagine 1 inch taking me to tablet town.

Honestly, the cheapo amazon fire tablet is bretty good. Got one for my sister, put stock Android on it, it works great for just web browsing, YouTube, Netflix etc. Plus there is a ton of community support for it

I have small hands because they didn't add growth hormones into my towns water supply, only stupid fluoride. My 5inch htc phone is the highest size I can go and still hit all the corners without adjusting my grip, so my Nexus 7 is a nice step up.

get a regualr 9" tablet and a 7" and after a while you will understand that 7 is perfectly fine and everything bigger it's stupid. Same with phones. 6" phones are stupid unless you are compensating for something with it or you actually are a really big dude with mon calamari hands.

Under Rated post.

I was planning to do the same but my nexus 7 is still running great.

10 inch tablets I find awkward to use while lying down or even sitting for long periods, unless you have a keyboard dock or rotatable kickstand

My school's physics department bought a whole bunch of nexus 7 gen 2s to use like once a semester to just read data from some overpriced Bluetooth sensor. And a rolling charging cart full of the cheapest, shittiest up laptops that stutter just making scatter charts in open office.
Also my high school bought a cart of iPads to do the same thing, my chem teacher said each sensor was over a hundred dollars, plus the Bluetooth adapters were 100$ each, just to measure pressure of a closed system.

Battery on that thing is shit. I gave mine away

dont they get 9 hours?

Mine didnt and it would die quickly just leaving it locked so mune was always dead

Oh, all you had to do was do a hard reset, and if that didn't work a factory refresh. I had the same problem, battery would run down faster with the screen off.

>not getting a windows tablet
ayy

I did that before i gave it to my family. I like using my phone better anyway, only reason i had that tablet was for school

After years of using a 7" Kindle and then years of a Nexus 10" I prefer the 7". it was way more convenient for using in general, much more ergonomic for reading and the 10" screen was actually bad for me as I'm disallowed from using electronics at work and 7" is way more discrete. Getting a 7" with a nice OLED panel would be a dream come true.

I love mine. I bought a Zagg AutoFit keyboard case and I use it all the time for uni and such. Works great for remote connecting to my desktop when I need to do things the tablet can't, like uploading documents to some of my online classes and shit.

buy a $75 insignia best buy tablet, but it can't handle streaming audio or video for some reason. youtube app does fine, though.

shits weird

Can the 2013 models run 6.0 fine? I want to upgrade but I already have experience with the huge performance drop the 2012 ones experience when going up to 5.0. Actually, would I be able to upgrade the 2012 one to 6 too?

this is what im learning

my asus notepad is just too heavy to watch porn on for hours at a time. I figure a more powerful 5.5 inch phone will suit me better

>Tfw I still have mine
>It's running lineageOS and is still up to date with the latest Android
>Still a great tablet

that sounds like total shit

I bought an 7in asus memopad tablet for like $130 in 2015 that's better than a 2013 Nexus 7, still works good and got updated from 4.4 to 5.1.1. gud nuff for my porn

i love reading the newspaper and ebooks on tablets

I picked up a few tablets yesterday for $17 a pop. Stock Lollipop 5.0 or 5.1 on some. Flash TWRP flash SU unlocked bootloader. Has a micro HDMI out and mSD. Pretty baller.

Naw man fuck you, the Nexus 7 is a great tablet

Pastry? It was a steak.
Did they change it for Europe?

>$17
wew, too bad they don't have a normal BIOS

I have another baytrail Winbook that was like $70 through a microcenter or frys deal. Win8 preinstalled at the time. I was able to get grub on there to install android x86 and dual boot. That one has 32GB eMMc mSD mHDMI full size USB3. Forget what GPU (Intel? Powercolor?) Anyhoo that thing can run crysis.

Did you manage to get standby working? Seems to be a big problem with Android-x86

Android (or linux with hw acceleration enabled) wont even boot on my venue 8 pro, apparently no other tablet is using its weird display mode of 10:16

I haven't used it in awhile but I don't recall any outstanding issues. One of my oldest kids uses it as a mobile shitposting machine.

>bought 3 times
>killed 2 (water/bad sensors)
>5 screen repairs later
Still too comfy. It got me thru college with +1000 pics/dl'ed books, youtube for daaaays, decent cams for skype.

>$200+
Worth it, if your not a normie(muh battery/fps/curved edge/500mp cam) and can really appreciate and care of a device(like a plant at least)

reeks of degeneracy

Tablets are kill. I still use my 10.5 inch sometimes before bed but I'm 8 inch is useless.

What 8 inch? Some are great, most are trash with 16:9 ratios.

Thank you :3
Such is my life after (and during) my math/cs major.

Ipad mini
It's not that it's a shit tablet, even though I'm not a fan of apple. It's just that it's not worth the trouble of getting out the tablet Compared to get taking your 5.5 inch phone from your pocket.

$74.99 new.

wtf are you smoking?

>Tablet
Your laptop can do it better.

I bought a samshit 8.4 pro for £130 just very two years ago roughly a d nothing beats it for that price. 1080p screen, 2gb ram, snapdragon 800 and 4800mah battery.

I've been looking for something faster but they all seem to be £200+ now and 1080p has become a luxury again for some retarded reason.

They are just jewing at this point.

where?

it's the brexit effect, lad

Not really familiar. Same thing is happening with laptops. They can push the shitty 2gbram/32gb ssd with shitty 1366x768 screen laptops which STILL have shit battery because muh thin meme.

Late response but yeah, it runs fine, actually performance increases, and much better battery life, my screen on time seems to be much better.

The only good time to buy a tablet is around Thanksgiving Day

There are some better tablets sure, but the nexus 7 has great pajeet support on xda

There's literally no reason to buy it when the NVIDIA Shield K1 is also available for $200

The tablet market is oversaturated at this point. Every company has a million different series and a million different models in each series, with all the good specs and features spread out over different models. Everything is always a compromise, just like laptops.

How are the shields when it comes to twrp and rooting/xposed? They seem like too good of a deal

hudl 2 master race reporting in. Seriously this thing is one of the best gadgets I have bought for such a low price. Literally perfection. Too bad it's a discontinued. Looks like you missed out.

Asus zenpad 3 8.0 is very nice in my opinion. Got one ca. one month ago, screen is great, 3:2 aspect ratio and 2k. I use it mainly for reading and browsing or to type something up when I don't want to bring a Laptop.

Seconding this post.

Shield K1 is amazing value, works well with the official stylus, and is still well supported by Nvidia. Only last month we got an OS update that adds nothing less than a split screen feature. Great going in a market where phones and Samsung Tablets are still sold running KitKat and Android 5.0

Great. Easy to unlock / root, plenty of custom ROMs. Official update support has been great as well, both the original Shield tablet and the Shield K1 got updated to Nougat, pretty amazing considering the original Shield launched with 4.4 Kitkat and K1 launched with 5.0 Lollipop.

How is the aspect ratio? I'm not really sure why they all jumped on the bandwagon and i feel comfy with 16:10. What's watching media like?

Depends. Webrowsing/reading is better, videos crop a little if they are 16:9 but it insn't annoying me.

don't buy 2013 tables
the pixels will destroy your eyes
