while being the most powerful?

>it's 2017 and moving files around in finder will STILL cause massive data loss

>macshit is good
Can we finally put an end to this meme?

how is that relevant in anyway whatsoever to the topic at hand, which is finder as a file manager?

0.2 rupees were deposited to your account pajeet

>most powerful

>wipes the old entire fucking folder off the drive and the face of this planet
>not the most powerful

apple wrote spacefm?

too bad they can't get itunes right

>Doesn't have a terminal integrated

Pathfinder is a good substitute for Finder.

>can't cut and paste

Cutting and pasting makes no sense in a filesystem. You move the files/directories, not cutting it out of the filesystem and pasting it in somewhere else. It essentially does the same thing, it just makes more sense.

I still havnt figured out what cutting did back in windows.

By doing the exact opposite of what KDE's file browser is doing.

Put the ugly fucking toolbars away, nobody is going to use anything on them 95% of the time, and for fucks sake, stop with putting borders on every single UI element.

shit on finder all you want, it has columnar layout which if far better than anything you can find on winblows or linux (except for ranger)

well.... apple basicly invented the GUI so.....

You can paste files multiple times

Finder sucks

pic literally related

>i cant move a file reference to a different directory
>forced to copy to new directory and delete from the old one
there, i worded it more properly for you, you little fucking autist
this is garbage design

Cutting put the selected whatever onto the clipboard and set it to be deleted after it is pasted. This is unlike copy, where the original data is preserved.

Also why does the search bar default to searching the entire filesystem?

why not?
you can change it anyway

why? It makes more sense to do it from the current directory especially when cmd+space already exists

spotlight is cancer and you should never use it

change the default behaviour of cmd-f to 'search current folder' if it bothers you

>spotlight is cancer

You can do the same on macOS.
You Copy the file to the clipboard, from there on out you can Move it or you can Paste it. Again, it has the same functionality, you just don't "remove" the file first. So it makes more sense.
