according to my parents the time during yeltsin government was pure anarchy
there were 'bandits' who killed old people because of their apartment
there was nothing to eat, they said the markets were literally empty
and about free speech, sometimes people were killed if they said something wrong
also russians corruption started during this time

Meh, that guy is a liberast clearly, 90s were shit. And it's a bit hard to demonize them as the whole adult population remember it well. But for some reason the west only likes when Russia is governed by incompetent drunkards like Yeltsin, which kind of partially explains why the west is perceived like enemies. Cause we are.
