I tell them about TidOS, interject.pl, and show them my desktop thread portfolio

I don't work for free and if you expect me to then you can fuck off. Thanks for the free airplane ticket and hotel stay for my vacation though.

I'm working on a game with c++ and opengl. Putting this on my resume landed me a job after college (not related to my project).

>tell us about your personal projects, user
is that a micro agression coming from your evident fear towards my skin color and sexual preferences?
*gets the job*

>walk in

What kind of personal projects should I put on my resume?

The ones you made. I'm sure there aren't so many that they won't fit in your resume.

not technology

I'm currently working on a fizzbuzz program in python :^)

>sorry we don't hire tripfags
wat do?

You're hired son get on your knees we start filming now

Oh, no! It's not yet another graphics card thread. KYS.

Of course. More of asking from a significant angle. I trimmed it down to my 5 "best" removing a forum theme (way more than a color swap) and a mock stock market trading bot among a few others. Was this a wise choice?

And what kind of description are they looking for? How indepth?

is there any other field where you're expected to enjoy it enough to do it in your free time?

no non-shit company expects to you work in your free time

*unzips*

What other technical skills should I list besides languages?

>I hunt animals with my adorable but borderline retarded purebred labs and use the offal meat for shamanistic purposes

I enjoy my work so much I just don't have time for personal projects.

How does it look?

I'm not a CS cuck, so I don't have this problem.

You'd be disqualified as a stock boy at Target due to autism.

But no, nothing in your personal projects qualifies you to work in software.

>Xubuntu instead of Ubuntu
>as if the DE matters

>minecraft

>qualifies you to work in software
I'm looking for an internship not a full fledged job.
I don't know, does it? What are they looking for? Doesn't to me much.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Got me started in Java and made some solid projects for the it.

My life is such a mess that I don't find neither time nor will to work on any personal projects.
Next question?

What is the circumference of your anus?

>going to release on Play store after I integrate cloud syncing
please rewrite that so you exclude the 1st person point of view, so something like
"Release to Play store is planned for after cloud sync integration"

here are some cool script crawlers I made.

here are some cool game projects I worked on.

here are some neat tools I made. I used x algorithm and utilized y programming techniques to accomplish it.

here is a totally related project I did that magically ties into what you're looking for right now

Noted. Thank you, I'll make sure to correct occurrences of 1st person.

FizzBuzz in Bash
FizzBuzz in C
FizzBuzz in Java
FizzBuzz in C#
FizzBuzz in Javascript

t. Senior FizzBuzz engineer

Do you really need to wear a tie to an interview? I don't even own a tie, never wore one.

It's just so you can hang yourself faster after failing the interview.

You mean my porn collection, right?

most respectable jobs will look at your github before even calling/interviewing you.(this is assuming they give a fuck about what autistic thing you did in your spare time)

you better be prepared to solve problems on a whiteboard, timed, in front of senior/junior programmers.

is this really a thing?

In my Job Interviews people were just asking IF i did some projects in my free time/uni, and how i contributed to them.

i never had to go to a whiteboard or link my github in my application, even for top tier companies.

Always put MS Office as a skill

They actually look for that? Assumed it was a given.

You mean my magnetic torrent porn server?

>all imperitive languages
you are no fizzbuzz engineer until you can write it in haskell

You'd be surprised

Not a thing at all.
Maybe for script kiddie jobs

Show them this: jakehilborn.github.io/speedr/

I made it just before starting a job search to bolster my resume and have something recent to talk about.

It is always brought up, they may ask you in person if it isn't written down. Don't be a sperg and put libre office.

"I made an app to track how effective it is to break the law."

*ineffective

It's an informational tool. You'll find by using it that speeding isn't worth the costs for nearly all driving scenarios. You'll only save a substantial amount of time during long freeway roadtrips.

Google does it.
So do most other high end jobs.

Interesting. Smart thing to bring to an interview then, since it suggests that rules are to be followed.

>isn't worth the costs
What costs?
Speeding tickets? Gas? Testing on residential roads is pointless since it's harder to pass vehicles, and traffic lights are a huge bottleneck.
What's considered speeding? Driving 10mph over the posted limit? Everyone does that.

yes and there are countless Blogs/whatever giving them shit for doing it. I remember some Snowflake Coder ranting that the had to Swap a Binary Tree.

I'm a Consultant thought, so maybe the Interviews i have to do when applying for Projects are a bit different

It was the guy who wrote Homebrew; the popular package manager for macOS. I'd say he's established himself and isn't just a snowflake.

>personal projects
I don't work for free. But if you're interested I can tell you about my 3 years of actual job experience.
