>>Google spies or enjoy your Chinese and Korean malware Android is an even bigger botnet than iOS, out of the box.
The difference is that you can flash a no-gapps custom ROM and de-botnet it, unlike an Apple device. Well, you can de-botnet it as far as a phone is able to be de-botnetted.
Other than that, iThings very much want you to go full Apple. They want to work with other Apple products and services, so everything's "in the ecosystem". I don't want that. I want something that is first and foremost a standalone device that doesn't assume anything about other devices I use.

Just because an operating system boots up quickly does not mean shit
example: Windows 10 boots up quickly as fuck(technically hibernates but oh well) - Still has shitty as fuck CPU (single threaded and muilti threaded) performance compared to a Linux Distro

good reasons, but most of them are extra features that you would rarely use every day. >real encryption with no backdoors I think you are forgetting how android is just as bad if not worse than iOS since they have more vulnerabilities. >download over 100MB over mobile data Never heard of this and I never experienced it. >install third party app launcher and icons Ricing... okay +1 >use it as a flash drive +1 >share any kind of file over wifi/bluetooth Airdrop can do this. >torrent +1 >install apps outside the playstore its possible to not use the app store, that's how you get emulators on iOS >modify settings to increase performance / decrease drain What settings? Elaborate, since turning off location services still counts. >manually control complex camera functions via apps There are apps like that... the app store isn't just filled with instagram filter apps. >natively browse files +1000 >view better colors via amoled displays +1 but amoled isn't accurate >browse Sup Forums and natively open webms (VIA THIRD PARY APPS *no shit*) phoneposting... wew lad. but webms are still useful outside of Sup Forums so +1 >extract browse archives there are file apps that do this, not well though but its still possible >SD card +1000 >replace the stock battery with a *bigger, non OEM one. +1 >add widgets to your home screen Ricing... >access important functions by swiping down how about swiping up? >good real world performance +0.5 for the 0.5 sec faster load times on apps Congrats.

never called it shit baka... I was emphasizing how the user kept on mentioning third party apps like a mouthbreather. >If you jailbreak. Not necessarily. You can load apps from safari, that's how GBA4iOS worked and many other ex-store apps, it got patched by apple but you can bypass it by reverting to a certain date on your phone.
Matthew Richardson
> Share over wifi > MicroSD > Performance >"0.01% users need those features." Shit-quality bait right there

1. Security
Apple users will look to the latest CIA leaks and believe that they have a more secure product due to iOS having less vulnerabilities overall. A cursory look at this, however, will reveal that all but 5 of the Android vulnerabilities listed had already been patched, while 10 of the iOS vulnerabilities were still unpatched, and the scope of access they granted was larger, with at least one vulnerability allowing the kernel to be exploited. In all reality, Apple has a history of producing vulnerable software, and responding poorly to it. For the longest time, Safari was consistently the first browser to be compromised in browser hacking competitions, and it still doesn't do too well. Apple likely does not take security seriously, as they took over six months to fix a root escalation vulnerability in Mac OS X, and their initial patch did not actually solve the problem. In 2015, Mac OS X and iOS were the first and second most vulnerable software platforms in terms of number of vulnerabilities.
And I know at this point someone is going to point out that thieves can get iCloud locked out of a phone. This isn't really a priority for security for most people. If the data's encrypted, then the most someone can do is wipe the disk and use the phone for themselves, should they gain physical access to the phone. If we can maintain the assumption that the phone is not going to leave the possession of the owner or a trusted friend of said owner, the only real thing that matters is software security, not physical security.
2. Freedom
I don't have to execute a security vulnerability to gain the ability to run any arbitrary application on my phone, without the permission of Google. I can run completely without the Play Store if I so choose. If I decide to gain root privileges on my phone, I can do so without executing a security vulnerability, in a way that guarantees only I have root access, and which does not prevent me from getting OS updates without losing root.

>0.01% of the users actually need Plenty of those features appeal to normies.

Customization and cheaper. And the iPhone SE is shit for the price. You can get a way better Android for the same price.

You can install Sailfish on it.

All of these are made up or moot points with jailbreak. And is iOS somehow bad because the gap between enthusiasts and normies is wide? Afraid to "hack" your phone Mr. Power User? I'll go through some made up ones as an example: > have actual good real world performance Pic related >access important functions by swiping down Have you actually owned an iPhone like you said? You know you can swipe up for "important functions". >add widgets to your home screen Sure, not without jailbreak. But at the same time Android has no lockscreen widgets. The real difference here is that you can jailbreak an iPhone for home screen widgets while no recent version of android can do lockscreen widgets at all. >Replace stock battery with a bigger one You realize 99% of these are fake chink shit? Very few phones have had legitimate battery upgrades. >View bettery colors via amoled display Simply wrong displaymate.com/iPhone7_ShootOut_1.htm >manually control complex camera functions Manually camera apps exist alongside native raw support.
Ethan White
Those tests they do are dumb. Not speed tests in itself but the way they try to pretend they really hit it at the same time. Better to just do one at a time and then use a camera to count the time it takes to complete the test and then compare.

Its not really an exploit, its the same concept as getting fdroid on android, which isn't "native" to begin with. Either way its becoming a strawman arguement about what one device can do "natively".

>Today, March 23rd 2017, WikiLeaks releases Vault 7 "Dark Matter", which contains documentation for several CIA projects that infect Apple Mac Computer firmware (meaning the infection persists even if the operating system is re-installed) developed by the CIA's Embedded Development Branch (EDB). These documents explain the techniques used by CIA to gain 'persistence' on Apple Mac devices, including Macs and iPhones and demonstrate their use of EFI/UEFI and firmware malware.
