/tosg/ - TempleOS General: God's chosen edition

Previous thread: Shrine 5.03 was just released, probably the last version for a while.
Comes with the latest TOS kernel and a bunch of bug fixes over the pre-releases.

Also, templeOS general
I've been out of the loop the last few weeks. What's been happening with Terry?

HERESY

By the way, does anybody know how to set something like a global variable in the OS?

Basically I need to detect if a certain program (that I can modify) has been executed since boot.
Looking into Fs->hash_table isn't enough, because the program might've been run in a different task.

> Davis is a former atheist who believes that he can "talk with God" and that God told him the operating system he built was God's official temple. According to Davis TempleOS is of 'Divine' intellect due to the inspired nature of the code. According to Davis, God said to create the operating system with 640x480, 16 colors display and a single audio voice. The operating system was coded in a programming language developed by Davis in C/C++ called "HolyC". The OS runs a file system called "Red Sea".

You can't make this shit up

Actually, hats off to Terry. First time I'm checking what TempleOS is about and it's seems like a pretty impressive feat

Figured it out, you need to do Adam("LoadDefine(...)");

I need more Terry.

Are there any torrents of Terry Davis' videos? An user posted one in an earlier thread but it's stalled.

Oh wow, my prayers are answered. I really did not want TempleOS to be abandoned and lost in the rain.

It has some genuinely cool features such as source-code spriting. Good job minexew! (I still prefer OG TempleOS though)

chest hair, cat, mustache what more can you ask in a genius?

Wealth and a modicum of sanity

Why did you make a script to generate webms that look like you made a Sup Forums browser?

It's like his brain segfaulted

...

...

How much HolyC is compatible with ANSI C?

It's very similar, from what I've seen.

The functions that take no arguments are called without brackets.

String on itself is interpreted as a printf function.

But I didn't look into it much, so there's probably quite a few more differences.

...

...

...

why were all of these fucked up

...

dunno, maybe a camera defect

every single one is misprinted

...

...

...

it seems like a printing defect

if it was ca it wouldnt be that bad and so cleaning divided

They probably are scans of badly stored prints made at some shitty Walgreen's

It seems he was a loving father, most of the photos are his kids. I'm only selecting the ones with him, but there are very few because usually he's the cameraman.

he had kids?

He would bring them on vacation with this one.

I assumed those are his, why would he have so many photos of them and that woman. They are way too young to be his siblings. That's a guess, though.

There's vueslide.exe too, perhaps it shows a slideshow of those, I'm too lazy to run wine.

Please don't repost the pictures, check out part 3 instead, part 1 is all searches, and I'm currently in second.

This one is severely fucked up.

That is TADs dad not the terry that made TOS

SEEEE!!!!? fuck its not that hard to tell the dif
Here is TOS Terrys brother and father(the guy in other posters pics)

Well, you're right. They look very similar though.

By the way, how did you find out about the albums? Did Terry linked to them from his blog?

TOS Terrys dad on left Terry A D in the mid and his brother on the right

I think he removed it it was mistakenly open on his FTP wich is what his site run from.

>In HolyC, type-casting
is postfix; U0 is not void, but a size-zero item that will cause a major pain
for standard C; there is no question-colon operator; the precedence of the bit
shift operators is different; parentheses are optional if no function arguments;
and taking the address of a function in HolyC must have an ampersand.

Poor Terry.

Post some nice palettes/fonts

I'm not sure what you're asking, but Uriel has experimental webm support.

github.com/tramplersheikhs/uriel

I use a version of Sabine font, which is modified from Apple II

Would Topaz fit? TempleOS and AmigaOS can be similar in so many ways.

How do you set the colours and fonts?

how did you create your blog?

does temple os support some fort of html templates?

There's an 8x8 variant of Topaz, which would work. I might have a go at converting it this weekend.

Palette entries are CBGR48
6 bits for blue,green,red
(0xRRRRGGGGBBBB)

To set a 16 color palette:
GrPaletteSet(array of CBGR48 with size COLORS_NUM);

To change an individual color's values: GrPaletteColorSet(color_num, CBGR48);
PaletteSetStd; will restore the default palette

System fonts are 8x8 1bpp, defined as
text.font and text.aux_font
(default is pointer to: sys_font_std and sys_font_cyrillic)

I use the built in DolDoc to HTML generator:

#include "::/Demo/ToHtmlToTXTDemo/ToHtml";

Then I call
ToHtml(doldoc_file, html_out, html_header, body_header, body_footer, html_footer);

I made a TempleOS forum where people can post hymns, programming projects, general questions & help each other out:

templeos.aimoo.com

Thanks. This is pretty cool.
Where do I write the code for it to change on startup?

I just started watching Terry's videos and reading about templeOS after hearing the name a bunch on Sup Forums

I gotta say, he and the OS are fascinating. I can't look away. I love it.

It's inspiring. In an age of giant tech conglomerates and soulless code, there's one man protecting the bastion of free Enterprise and truly has a passion for operating systems.

I put my fonts, aliases & other customisations in HomeKeyPlugIns.HC, but you could use any file that executes after Gr is compiled (if you're doing palette changes)

Not to mention the sheer dedication and commitment to the project. Even in the face of mental illness.

Why in the hell would someone as redpilled as Terry use Ubuntu?

So he can spend his real energy and time on God's chosen OS.

He's probably running an Ubuntu VM inside Gentoo

So what's the difference between shrine and Temple is, what did you change?

It's one of those few OS that doesn't make you into a retarded asshole who spends his entire life sharing his wallpaper and making screenfetch threads all day.

...Yeah.. very redpilled
