any guesses at what the data layer/circles in this map represent?
Mystery map
>bubbles only over roads
traffic congestion
solid guess, but nope. on the right track with the bubbles only over roads note.
What is the point of this thread?
...
...
mneh population
or at least something that heavily correlates with population

>Extremely saturated
>Basically no interesting motion
Nice tumblr gif, fag.
>"guess...what the data layer/circles... represent"
> i got doubles twice!

How can you stand to look at that shit?
It's fucking revolting.
idk. show me the way sensei. i'm just google searching for a gif that comes up when i search a phrase. wanted to gif the world a more visual response.
could be anything
- twitter activity
- (internet) traffic
- crime
- amount of pizza consumed
the fact that it correlates with population barely helps.
seriously
Niggers vs crime rate
a map to compare with would help a lot
iphone usage
bright spots appear to be commercial districts so that would work
sorry if it's too tough user, tho fair points...

area around bel air has no datapoints. if that means "never occured" and not "data missing" then it might be a lead as its likely to be populated (but whatever got measured didnt happen there)
also, isnt bel air more of a luxury area? this might contradict the iphone idea.
i'm not familiar with california, what doesn't occur in belair? is there a lot of gated communities? Maybe it was harder to "observe" people there.
The park is highly populated and so is the beach, where people are frequently walking.
The fact that it doesnt get brighter as you go lower right indicates this isnt a sign of poverty. This is likely natural gas or pollution plumes. Smog maybe? Methane?
i'm still going with iphone usage.
it's gotta be tech related anyways, or ban op.
it occurs a lot at the beach, and at the zoo, and at the holy wood sign, and at the park.
maybe it's selfies gps data?
yeah exif location data
Network strength
me neither. i meant that its open whether the missing datapoints mean that whatever gets measured isnt happening there or the data exists theoretically but isnt available for some other reason. gated community explanation sounds pretty reasonable if we go for the "data not available" interpretation.
