what does Sup Forums think about android phone as laptop?
1080p IPS laptop powered by my phone for $200
is it worth that much?

kickstarter.com/projects/andromium/the-superbook-turn-your-smartphone-into-a-laptop-f

wow it's fucking nothing

why not just install marshmallow on your laptop separately, or better yet gentoo

Something like this already exists but with Windows phones and Raspberry Pi (also other ARM forgot how it's called).
it's not really that good, better get normal laptop already with proper CPU.

>200 bucks for a crappy lagdroid laptop that doesn't even function like a real laptop because there is a phone connected to it
Sounds idiotic.

>It looks like shit.
>Adds nothing besides keyboard and screen, no ports or video outs.
>Phone is not clipped to the lid, this thing is not portable.
>Is costs as much as whole chromebook which can launch android apps, has 13 inch touch display with 3:2 aspect ratio and a pen input.
>Download the app, goyim
>No native USB OTG capability
>Old thinkpad can do much more

is it worth it to project your phone's screen onto a gutted laptop?
paying 200 for a shitty screen and keyboard.

Nvm, they gibe you an ugly clip, and it costs $99.
Still shitty solution tho.

>Poojeet technology

Oh look, another recycled tech idea that failed the first time so hard, people forgot it existed.

This reminds me of some cheap add-on for my gameboy color back in the day

Can't you like, hook in a mini-usb to hdmi cable, and bluetooth to a wireless keyboard and mouse?
That'd be much cheaper.

I rather just buy a cheap Chromebook to be perfectly honest, family.

Why do all these faggots think every device has to be the same? There's a reason some devices look/are different. Create technology that complements each device instead of some frankenstein that isn't good in anything it tries to do.

You can already install remixOS and dual boot or run it in a VM.

>That'd be much cheaper.
Than $100? Good luck finding a 1080p screen, mouse and keyboard for that kind of money.

or you could buy a second hand laptop for $50 and install android x86 on it
it might even be faster

>don't talk to me or my son ever again

It also has an MHL(or slimport?) adapter built in... but yeah, its not a good value when you can buy a chrome book, or windows 10 3-in-1 for the same price, which also actually INCLUDE processors, ram, memory, etc...

Plus, not all phones have MHL or slimport.

My OnePlus 3T doesn't have MHL, so it wouldn't work on this 'docktop' right?

name ONE (1) chromebook for $200 with an 1080p IPS screen
please

I actually have this phone. I fucked the partitions and it's just not worth my time to fix it.

Good luck finding this piece of shit. It looks like they were supposed to start sending them out in February and not a one exists in the wild yet, but they have already increased the "preorder price" from $99 to $119 with a promise of another price hike next week- and still no fucking laptops

>it's $99
>except it's actually $119
>that $119 is a limited time price, order now before it jumps to $199
>by the way that's for the 1366x768 model, the 1080p is $55 more
>plus $35 for the phone dock
>plus we said we'd start shipping them in February but we haven't made any yet
holy shit

>It's this idea again
They've been playing with this concept since smartphones fucking took off
There's a very good reason that it never succeeded
It's a shitty idea

I thought it was fishy because 1080p laptop IPS screens sell for $60.

Average Kickstarter project.

don't forget
>$25 for shipping
>$65 import taxes

>android

The unified device thing is cool until you realize how much more convenient just having a separate processor and storage inside the laptop is.

Funny thing is the most popular DIY use for these is to permanently install a Raspberry Pi in them

How much does it weigh? Should be 1lb max if it's just a shell

7.6" x 11.3" x 0.7" (19.3 cm x 28.7 cm x 1.8cm); 2.0lb / 0.9kg

Samsung is doing something like this with glaxay 8, dex. Phone into a desktop PC

It's like RemixOS but worse.
