It has the same ageing population problems as Germany.
It has African tier corruption and poverty and aids problems.

The economic troubles are temporary. The corruption is overestimated, as the USA is orders of magnitude more corrupt.
Russia maintains low debt, constantly increases gold reserves, advances technologically all the time which is best displayed in their amazingly improving military
