And I realized the producer (former IT guy) is wearing a baseball cap even when indoors.
I came to realize there are Americans who always do that. Baseball cap is like a second skin to them.
So my question is: does the cap identify autists or is it merely a national symbol? Is it polite to wear a hat indoor? Is this guy autistic because he is wearing a hat all the time?
Moreover, why do people in cinema often wear baseball caps?
I am aware the only autist here is me, the OP.
But anyway my questions are genuine. I might be narrow-minded, but I need to know what the baseball cap means for Americans and what their attitudes are.

America does not have a strong sense that hats should not be worn indoors, or that shoes should not be worn inside an apartment.

At the same time, I have friends who throw house parties and let everyone wear shoes cause shit is just dirty, and trying to make 50+ people to take their shoes off is impossible, and one fuck is gonna wear his inside, and then everyone is gonna be stepping on his dirt

I'm from New England and the only place in America I've seen savages wearing hats indoors is California. I'm sure similarly trashy Western and Southern states engage in the same kind of man-child behavior

Italians wear shoes all the time. But they hardly have carpets in their homes.
I have carpet here in Australia, and have conceived a system: I keep the carpet clean, but for the toilet I have prepared some slippers, like the Japanese do. You can walk barefoot in the house (I prefer socks but whatever) and put slippers on as you open the toilet door.
But no. Nobody gives a fuck.
So they walk barefoot on my carpet, GO TO THE TOILET barefoot and come back shitting all my carpet.
I mean: there are fucking slippers and the toilet is, like, 1 sq metre. It is not hard to get.
And I do not get why it is so hard to comply. I mean, if I wanted my wife to wear a fucking Hijab in Australia nobody would raise an eyebrow because "muh cultural diversity" but if I ask someone to respect my fucking house rules, guess what? World might end, but they will never comply.
The only time we remove our caps is when we sing the national anthem or do the pledge of allegiance.

It's mostly hipsters who wear beanies. Baseball caps are mostly worn by middle aged/older people. Like my grandpa for example. I can't even remember the last time I saw him without his Tigers hat tb honest.

I tried Bramah hats, cowboy hats, headscarfs, turbans, tricorns, brimmed hats, fedoras [tipped and untipped]... I tried everything except the Phrygian hat.
Frankly it is the one that appeals to me the least... but indeed it is one of the most historical ones.
