Dude, I don't use windows 10 because of spying lmao

I'll never understand these people.

Unless it's Lagdroid, there is a lot less spying going on. Obviously the guberment can still spy on you no matter what but it's hardly the same as buying software that is made for data collection mainly. Besides, a smartphone is mostly a communication device, so it's given that it's easier to spy on it, while W10 turns your private computer into part of MS botnet.

Only the "I got FB and care about spying" position is really illogical.

What is LineageOS

checkmate, I use replicant on my phone
it's still a cell phone but it's good enough for privacy, if I wanted to go full autism and hide everything from the government I'd just not use technology

people who let fear govern their lives are not the smartest bunch so no surprise there

>2017
>thinking you're hiding what you're doing on the internet from the government

wew

I use my smartphone as a glorified beeper.

What is CopperheadOS

>*owns a smart phone*
I don't. Don't presume.

There's also Intel ME and AMD PSP which spy on you regardless of your OS unless you disable them, but you wouldn't know that because you're a retarded winfaggot cuckold. If you buy a smartphone that has a removable battery then you won't have any real issues as long as you pull the battery when the device isn't needed and you don't store any sensitive info on it. I don't use Windows 10 because I need a place where I can store said important personal info, and for that I'll only trust an old Core2 Duo machine with Coreboot and SeaBIOS installed with the management engine disabled completely. Fucking kill yourself, Pajeet.

>baseband
>modem
>firmware
>bootloader
All proprietary, and phones don't function without it. Custom ROMs are merely a bandaid.

None of that functions without power. Removable battery masterrace.

really the only thing left when running a custom rom with a vpn is the government
honestly now with all the backdoors they put into shit I wouldn't be suprised if the only way to get functioning computers without government backdoors is to make your own

>ME Cleaner
>Coreboot
>SeaBIOS
>Libreboot
Look into these.

How do you use a phone without a battery?

You don't, you dense fuck. You remove the battery when you're not using the phone.

>having an ISP subscription
>caring about privacy

>having a credit card
>caring about privacy

>having a bank account
>caring about privacy

>having a federal ID
>caring about privacy

Only people who live in the woods are safe.

Getting cancer due to smartphone radiation and being spied upon are 2 different things, user.

i dont browse gay furry futa loli porn with my "smart phone" you know.

what about stock android?
(No gapps, no bloated shit)

all those people either have the same telemetry updates in windows 7 or they have updates turned off and are even less secure than anyone else.

An OS created by an advertisement company that specializes on data collection too? I wonder.

Are you implying iOS is anymore safe than Android? You can't be that retarded.

Obviously you can't be talking about windows phones seeing as no one even owns those.

>An OS created by an advertisement company that specializes on data collection too? I wonder.
Yeah, but it's open source. You can fucking see if it's tracking you.

And btw, what's the alternative? iOS?
A proprietary OS made by Applel?

You never browsed Sup Forums on your phone?

Goldmine here

isn't aosp without play services and only f droid pretty non botnet?

You still have to deal with shitloads of non-free components.

A false sense of security is worse than none at all.

It's less botnet. Your carrier can still track your real-time location, wi-fi hotspots can still uniquely and persistently identify you.

non-gapps android is a good first step, but beyond that you have to leave your phone at home or at least turn it off when you don't need it. That includes things like "when walking into stores".
washingtonpost.com/news/the-switch/wp/2013/10/19/how-stores-use-your-phones-wifi-to-track-your-shopping-habits/

Yeah, because dumb phones don't have a camera on the front and can't just as easily be hacked. You might as well give the feds a few more megapixels and audio quality and enjoy some youtube videos while you're at it.

Not him but iOS is indeed safer than Android. Learn the fucking difference between privacy and security, will you?

>owns a smart phone
No, I use a flip phone. Fuck off to idiot

or maybe it's because of the busted-ass OS features that don't allow me to select a default browser, install the app store, disable Xbox DVR, properly update, retain the most stable drivers for my hardware, ask me before rebooting for updates (thanks for the lost work), etc. etc.

the OS is objectively a steaming pile of dog shit fuck you for defending it

i don't give a fuck about spying

>Unless it's Lagdroid, there is a lot less spying going on.
You're telling me Apple's proprietary operating system spies on you less than open-source Android? What are you, retarded?

smart phones are useful. windows is not

>play services
>open source

>implying my smart phone is connected to the internet

you can plug the power cable and remove the battery and bootuo

>this is somehow better than applel's ongoing data collection
welp

It's okay when google does it
They're motto is "do no evil" remember

I don't have play services installed

Apple's profit comes from overpriced hardware, not data mining and advertising profiles ala Google

Applel made a huge effort to balance it out with differential privacy, since they need the data to improve their products (just like everyone does) but don't collect personalized shit to sell it (like MS and Google do)

Honestly Microsoft used to not be nearly as bad with their TOS, it's sad that the only way to defend them now is to say "everyone does it anyway". Currently i use both a linux distro on my desktop and an android phone as you point OP, the reason why i stopped using windows at first is precisely because i found something that treats me much better on the desktop and that complies perfeclty with all my need, in fact i'm a lot happier with my current setup than with windows regardless of the privacy part. The thing is that if i find something with nicer terms than android i'll almost definitely ditch android too because the best i can do at the moment is to disable the bullshit on android as much as i can the same way a lot of people does on windows.

My point is that google or another company being as bad as microsoft doesn't justifies it, for that reason i started to look at other alternatives and android is just in the same list of "to be replaced when possible" as windows was back then. Is that a fair reasoning?

Also let's not forget that Google is offering their stuff for "free", so your data is the payment, while MS wants your data and your money, and will still molest you with ads.

why would anybody do this? are you born retarded?

Same

Also this, at this point all versions of windows should be cost-free if they gonna do the same shit as google.

>applel
>ongoing data collection

their revenue comes from sales of their hardware, not data mining and selling to advertisers. for fuck's sake they couldn't even run their own attempt at an ad network right, so they scrapped it.

>CIA Dark Matter
>literally every iPhone since 2008 has a hardware back door

>dude, I don't use windows 10 because of spying lmao
>*connects to the internet*
lincucks are literally braindead

I'm pretty sure most people don't use windows 10 because it's a BloatOS, not because of telemetry

>software is now a hardware backdoor

leave pls

At what point you guys lost all your dignity?
One example:

>Canonical does something nasty.
>They receive a huge backlash to the point people start using other distros or derivatives that dosen't ship bullshit.
>At the end canonical disables it by default as it should have been from the start.

>Microsoft does something nasty.
>Their users keep using it regardless of what MS pushes into their throats.
>Their reason to defend MS is that they are dependent on a piece of software available only for windows. So their prefer to shut up the criticism instead of stopping using windows and demanding the software providers to support alternative platforms.
>Due to enough people not caring, not knowing or actively rewarding MS's lock-in tactics, MS doesn't learn anything and they feel they can push anything on their users.
>Windows users receives more bullshit and repeats the cycle while calling names other OS users to convince themselves they're doing the correct or the only viable thing.

Am i wrong in any way? i guess everyone gets what they deserve.
