I want to get a GTX 1080 TI and 1440p monitor but I'm concerned that my i5 4690k would become a bottleneck. what do you think, Sup Forums?

Unless you're gonna be streaming shit you're fine

Just do it. At least you'll have your 1080 and can upgrade later

You should be fine unless like this user says , you're streaming. Now you'll still be able to stream, but expect to have to lower the stream rate a bit to avoid FPS drop. Also why 1080ti for 1440p? Why not a regular 1080?

Thanks anons. I don't plan on streaming. Just waiting for pic related to get back in stock and I'm ordering that shit.

on 1440p you should be fine, but if you listen this this user and stay on 1080p, your cpu will be a bottelneck

>why 1080ti for 1440p? Why not a regular 1080?

I want to run games at max settings and over 60fps

as the owner of a 1080, you'd be fine at 1440p

also as the owner of a 1080, i'd buy a 1080ti too.

What is your current GPU?

a GTX 970

If my 980 can do it at 1440, so will a 1080.

Wtf. My 670 plays games at 1440 on normal settings. Dark souls iii on high.

My 780ti and 4790k handles 1440 no problemo.

>I want to run games at max settings and over 60fps
pls read

I want to play games at MAX settings and over 60fps though

Hey, least my pc still keeps up after 5 years

what screen are you planing to get?
imo
60hz = stay with 970
100hz = 1080
144hz = 1080ti

Definitely 144hz

my geforce2 mx plays games at 1440p wtf

I want to play Runescape at MAX settings and over 60 fps though

>two fan gpu
enjoy your WRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR kid

if 2 fans are enough to keep my overvolted r9 390 cool, it should be enugh to keep a 1080ti quiet

msi cards are noiseless arent they?

you're good, it wont bottle neck but just dont stream some insane shit.

Msi is such shit, why does any one bother with msi. If something happens you have to deal with their shitty rma department in California that treats your product like ass niggers. Good luck dealing with that shitty manager Henry who doesn't fucking care if your rma experience was bad.

Yea I've had this issue before, thats why I'll buy from msi, I think Evga probably has the best support, and asus.

I'll never buy from MSI* for fucks sakes.

What if I'm a cuckifornian and am used to being treated like shit?

what have you OC'd it to
