old AMD gpus get incremental performance updates over time
nvidia GPUs don't and sometimes even regress
but overall I wouldn't worry about that when going for either brand

This is good and bad advice at the same time. The rx500 series is gonna come which will have a slightly better performace for the same price,or make rx400 line cheaper.

Well something to realize is that the 1050 Ti has no direct competitor performance wise, RX 460 is 30% below, RX 470 is 30% above. It's priced accordingly too, right above the RX 460 and right below the RX 470, but the difference in performance is enough to warrant never getting the 1050 Ti because 30% more performance is worth $30. Doesn't NEED a direct competitor.
Also, the AMD vs Nvidia driver shit is just a fuckin meme. I currently use both modern sets on my desktop and laptop. AMD has more niggly small bugs like the cursor corruption glitch, but once a year Nvidia absolutely shits the bed and breaks major things.
