I got this laptop for free a little while back, can't complain. Just had to load an operate system and swapped out the dying HDD for an SSHD. I'd like to add a 4GB stick of RAM (6GB total) but used DDR2 is too expensive for such a casual usage machine. I'll just wait until I find a good deal on Craigslist.

just upgrade from i5 2500k / ddr 3 1600 to this tonight. Even with noctua nh-d15 I'm getting an idle at 40-50C and a prime 95 load of 80-85c did I fuck up somehow?

I fucking loved that thing but my mobo couldn't take any more than 2 sata 6gb/s and I needed more hard drive space. So I said fuck it. It's been since the 2500k came out since I've done any serious upgrades.

I actually didn't even think about that got too excited about upgrading everything to look into other solutions I guess. Not to mention the i5 2500k could've been a bottleneck to the 1080 ti especially at 1440p / 144hz.
