Hey Sup Forums show me your uptime!

My record is 2 weeks, what are the effects of not shutting down your PC often besides updates piling up?

i would have admired your uptime if you weren't such a good goy

I've had huge uptimes before, but if it's public facing, our client facing, huge uptimes are not your friend. Those security updates and kernel patches? They come out for a reason. When I see numbers like 200 days, or worse past 500, like some systems at work, I get nervous. It's a sign they haven't been maintained.

If you manage an environment of any scale, you need to be running something like chaos monkey, and having a regular patching schedule, even if that means automated reboots.

No excuse for getting pwned by shit that patches exist for in 4034/2.

Windows is spyware and it really starts to shit itself after about 16 days for me.
