Amiga was 32 years ago, still the best computer and OS there was

...

wake me up inside
CANT WAKE UP!!!

Bro that is not winders 98, the year the undertaker threw mankind off hell in a cell plummeting 16 feet into the table below.

Good.

>ywn visit a porn website again and find several new shortcuts on your desktop after closing internet explorer

that is not windows 98 what the fuck is that iOS looking garbage

The only Win98 I care was the SE.

>NTFS

those were the times

Damn Windows 98 looks like *that*?!

>tfw you had 20 years to learn programming but you just started now

im currently happy with this on my pc.
looks like old xp and its easy to work with.

coding it's a so fucking complex world by now I don't even have my mind into considering that.
I should have started learning by the time my dad show me about BASIC on his MSX
but then I was like 3 though

No, it's not. Just start learning Python or something.

>implying Microsoft EVER brought out a windows not two years after its name said it should be out

>General availability: June 25, 1998
Oh will you look at that

Huh. What's going on? Is OP a madman?

>looks like the old xp
why... why do you hate yourself?

>VirtualBox

Never had 98 on any of my computers.
I went directly from 95 to XP back then.

What have I missed?

same desu.
working on making my android app now

Whats wrong ? It looks just ok... and linux are ok.
Of course i have win10 on pc but on VB its ok.

Nothing desu its the same shit as 95

for what purpose
I don't even work with software by now

Shut the fuck up

PROTIP: You cannot sage, if your post contains an image.

looks like an os from an anime

changing the background and the colour of the taskbar does not make it look entirely xp

you forgot to change the font and the window border

...

Because it's fun and is a little bonus for your resumé.

Linux?
Looks like shit. Worse than windows 98.

>I don't know what I'm talking about: the post

I know. Windows 98 had really good UI.
No like that. There is no Nostalgia. Only Unpolished theme exist.

What the fuck are you saying?

sage does something: It avoids the bump to top of frontpage ("age") upon the post.

What it does not, and that's what moot means, is: Kill the thread. It's entirely unrelated.
What I don't know, is, if sage posts count towards the bump limit. Never looked into that. In that case they would indeed accelerate the death, but to an extent not worth the effort.

looks neat

luna was a mistake

>laptop is 20 years old
>os is nearly there too
>on a fundamental level its not much different than modern windows
I feel like Microsoft did something right.

No it wasn't.

Those are beauty. They also go for like 600$ on Ebay ;_;

>What I don't know, is, if sage posts count towards the bump limit
IT DOESN'T COUNT TOWARDS ANYTHING. THIS IS WHAT MOOT MEANT WHEN HE SAID IT DOES ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY NOTHING.

Mine was 50$ with shipping, only problem is that the screen has some obvious age to it.
No ghosting or bright spots but its a tint bit blurry and the edges are slightly brighter.

The 380 series ones were pretty common

Maybe i'm thinking of a different one then, but it looks pretty much the same.

It prevents bad threads from going to the top, that's something.

>I remember when windows 95 was new and exciting
whelp, time to dig my grave.

And it does that by doing absolutely nothing to the thread.

As it should, it's not a downvote.

I never fully understood why Mood tough it was insufficient as a community moderation tool.

>Mood

I meant Moot.

mines a 380ED
166mhz pentium mmx
48mb of ram
2.1gb hdd
1.25mb magigraph gpu
rocking windows 98 of course

but theyre not on the retardedly rare tier yet
even the legendary 701c (the one with the folding keyboard) only gets to around 200$ in normal condition, for one in mint or maxed out/refurbished you can expect that 500$ price tag

sage has been disabled since 2015? when the email field turned into the options filed

It is not disabled, but it's not visible anymore.

>Conect
I want to murder whoever made that image.

also "Internet" is incorrectly written in lowercase.

Yes you can. This isn't 2011 anymore.

Posting proof.

Still on page 2, huh, would you look at that?

It does count towards the bump limit.

t. 56th post ITT

So then referring to the ``bump limit" is ridiculous, because it actually counts POSTS, not BUMPS.

>Windows 98
>File System: NTFS
Something seems wrong here...

The "bump limit" is the limit after which the thread is no longer bumped up the pages. A "post limit" would more likely be where you can no longer post at all, similar to the image limit after which no new images can be posted in a thread.

I just started to experiment with WindowMaker today because I want to move away from gtk3-gnome-shit

Didn't threads have a post limit in the 00s?

I remember not being able to post anymore due to threads being full.

It's not fun, maybe when you are writing hello worlds the initial prospect is thrilling, but it quickly tides over when you realize you may have no talent for it.

>Browsing the web
>Start menu gets a couple new poker shortcuts

>work at HP call center
>Pavillions ship with so much crap the poor thing can't run
>USB 1.0 is shitty for printer installs because it wants the software first, but customer plugs in printer first, and writes to the registry
I spent most of my calls turning shit off in MSConfig, and deleting registry keys under HKLM. All of this I did blindly, over the phone with illiterate customers.

I finally got in trouble for writing "windoze 98" in my call logs, and finally saying "damn it" during a phone call. The LDS peeps in management didn't like that.

kek

windows xp died 30 years ago today

that is the ugliest windows 98 theme I have ever seen

Powerpoint OS?

Why don't they invest a few grands into their software to take care of this instead of paying call center monkeys?.

it died for our sins

Dude my OCD just got way worse when I saw your unaligned taskbar buttons.

If you use computers from about the early 90s onwards within their own context you'll be surprised how well they have aged. If you put a CF card in an Amiga you've essentially done most of the work in getting it up to date.

because it was 1998-2000
