What filesystem should i choose?

What filesystem should i choose?

NTFS obviously

>no ReiserFS

Use a different distro.

HFS+

HFS Plus

Lalmao guys XD i will choose them all

RedSea

50 FAT16 partitions
DO IT

Bait.

Use Fat16 user.

XFS; it's very solid, performs well. The Ext series are only vaguely okay, btrfs has a lot of promise but isn't quite reliable enough yet.

EFI System Partition

APFS nigger

How can you even think of choosing something other than ZFS?

For now, ext4 is a safe choice.

In the future, btrfs might replace ext4 as the default choice of the mainstream distros. But before that can happen, btrfs has to prove itself as mature and stable as ext4 for several years.

Journaled EXT4 or btrfs

swap area, it's perfect for all use cases

Ext4

ZFS hogs RAM and its featureset and requirements aren't appropriate for desktops. It's also not in the list, but you knew that.

This

literally this

HDD - EXT4
SSD - F2FS

What's better about xfs than ext4? Not meant to be inflammatory, I'm genuinely curious

Generally better performance, especially when needing to check the filesystem. Supports larger filesystems, though unless you're running a really fucking massive RAID, that's unlikely to matter. In general more reliable, at least in my experience.

What advantages does it have over NTFS?

it's not shit

Wait, can filesystems affect reliability of drives when running RAID 0?

ExFAT the way to go for portable storage like a USB flash drive?

Not as far as I know.

ext4, btrfs or xfs

Swap

add support for murderfs and use it

exFAT

physical volume for encryption obviously

Daily reminder Hans Ext murdered his wife.

btrf

Yeah, swap those ntfs partitiions for ext4.

>btrfs isn't safe to use yet
Holy shit people it's 2017. I've been using btrfs since 2012 and have never lost anything. Btrfs is stable and production ready. Stop spreading memes.
Although I'll admit that you can't use btrfs for software raid5/6 yet and that zfs is a better alternative.

Everything besides FAT16 is bloatware

>Btrfs is stable and production ready

lel

>still need to update to latest kernel to get critical bugfixes
>Raid5/6 still unstable, still has write hole

just use ZFS already
