Trump will end Sup Forums kek

I don't understand the picture. Do you have to pay to use certain websites now?

I hope

That image has existed in different forms for over 10 years and not a single ISP comes even close to implementing that shit.

We haven't had an obnoxious freedom hating president like trump ever.

...

This image is the most cucked thing I can imagine
I only pay the equivalent of $38 usd for unltd internet at 25 down, that's barely more than the base price for this

This is a future that Trump voters dream of.

The reason? Your guess is as good as mine.

This image hit me right in the net neutrality.

What the fuck is this shit.

It's the future you vote for

They'll have angry mobs trying to chop their heads off. The ISP fat cats surely aren't this stupid.

The angry mobs won't notice, because ISPs will go to Netflix with "we noticed you have a million subscribers on our network, it sure would be a shame if you didn't pay us $1m a month and we had to filter all your traffic into the trashcan" and then Netflix will just raise prices from $8.99 to $9.99 a month while being happy that the shitty Kodi apps can't afford to and will get filtered.

And by "will" I mean "this already happened with a sane FCC commissioner and a government that had to pretend they were looking out for the little guy sometimes, imagine how turbodicked we are now".

>thingsthatwillneverhappen.png

The Trump administration is getting the ball rolling.

good

Why?

because you're fucking dumb and none of this will happen

I see hillshills haven't given up yet.

They already get away with quite a bit as it is. I mean I pay $60 for 1.5Mbit currently. No outbound calls, no TV bundle, I own my own DSL modem so no rental fees, just "pure broadband".

>it's already happening
>good *tips fedora*
>why?
>it's NOT HAPPENING
WHERE ARE YOU AT? WHERE ARE YOU AT?

You mean muh free market ancaps

>Rental fees for a fucking ISP supplied modem
Is America even real ?

if only there was some action you could take against these tyrannical ISPs that you willingly pay for service

Like paying one of the other 0 ISPs in the free market? It's time the state replaces ISPs.

Not an argument

because the government has done amazing work in other fields they took over. They'll surely respect everyone's data and privacy

KYS

Belgian here, same shit for our modem and digital TV decoder. I know Canadians who are in the same situation. There's usually an option not to get anything supplied by the ISP, or to outright buy your device instead of renting it, though. Sometimes even more of a lease option.

It's more common than you think.

The ISP industry is obviously not fit for a free market, it's clear that the heavily regulated European countries have faster, cheaper, more stable Internet with more consumer satisfaction.

The government doesn't have an incentive to inject ads into web traffic where corporations do, clearly the government would take better care of their citizens than a corporation that lives slowly to make profit out of these citizens.

I sorta agree.

Let Americans put up with the free market.
Let others put up with a public service.

I don't like a monopoly of ideas.

America's free market is broken, there is no choice, there's no viable way for new ISPs to get into the market. What they're left is, is a monopoly worse than the worst possible state-managed ISP.

You can have a public utility without it being a monopoly of ideas. The city running fiber to my house doesn't mean that it's going to tear out Comcast's RG-6 or ban Verizon's cell towers, and of course there's very little even national governments can do about Hughes.
And if the fiber program ends up being long-term revenue-neutral, that's LESS of a subsidy than the telcos receive.
So if the other options simply can't compete, that's on them.

Another alternative that's worked well in many places is to have a majority-government-owned but independent company - so somewhat insulated from political pressure, certainly at least as much so as AT&T with their entire floors of major exchanges blocked out for NSA usage - own and physically maintain the local lines, while private companies provide backbone links and routing from the local exchange. This could even easily solve the NSA/Stasi problem, as there's no reason they couldn't VPN all the way from your modem to their peering.

Not an argument

>american internet

so you get the government to force competition like the euro model and don't give them the keys to the kingdom

This man is your friend. He fights for telecoms.

This is a good thing.

Internet is a priviledge. Not a right.

it could happen if bernie get elected

I will say, he's a fun demonstration of the moral bankruptcy, even by its own terms, of trumplet babby fascism. The second Pajeet embraces something that's good for a big company, they love him even though it deep-dicks working whites.

old kike wouldn't even stand up to a female

>people most likely to afford service will be hardest hit

dumb nigger detected

you can bypass this shit with a vpn

And Ameritards got the shitty end of the stick. Enjoy it.

Not an argument

Nah, I'm a smart nigger, pringles can to the library's 802.11n gets me unfiltered better speeds than Comcast will even sell me.

You're the dumb honky paying for my internet and then paying double for yours just because you think it'll make me mad. Keep on tossing me in this briar patch senpai.

Could this push people to using MESH networks???

How far away do you think it is when people will get sick of this and start using MESH routers?

Would this be a good thing?
other than for people who live outside the city though

You mean to tell me that in this day and age, with information leaks left and right, that someone wouldn't pick up on what's happening and inform the public?

>mfw consistently get above advertised speeds on Comcast

Is that you Tevin?

Well, Netflix did give in and pay ISPs for direct network access, and then raised their rates "due to increased expenses" a few months after. No one seemed to care. So you tell me?

Good, I don't have Netflix. I don't want to subsidize them through my ISP

But you do expect other people to subsidize your little shit websites, you filthy hypocrite. Or are they going to pay $1 to your ISP while you keep your money from both parties?

But you know about it, thus proving my point.

>No one seemed to care
If people didn't care, then what's the issue again

wake me up when those websites start using anywhere near the bandwidth that Netflix does

So the biggest couple of websites should pay for your hipster Internet use?

Not very convincing desu

>We haven't had an obnoxious freedom hating president like trump ever.

>even though it deep-dicks working whites.
why do leftists want to fuck over the white working class?

Yes, they absolutely should. Especially with the move to 4K video

>the roads are still there when I don't pay taxes
You're not the brightest, are you?

>Sup Forumstards keep pretending that sucking an old rich man's dick that got elected as the president and has done nothing but fuck 'murricans rights in favor of companies is actually counterculture
>all this because they're too scared of a blogging platform known as Tumble

Wew.bmp

Why aren't you paying for FedEx's gas bill?

I don't care about your social values but when the Internet gets throttled and you keep spewing strawmans that puts this in a whole new perspective.

please post proof of said throttling

>leftists think their still counter culture when they hve the entire mainstream medias is working for them
>all because their scared of white people standing up for themselves
kek.mid

Toddler intuition has it that killing net neutrality means throttling.

so you have no proof of this claim then? Sounds about right

There's a difference between playing devil's advocate and being contrarian beyond reason.

>N-not my president!!!

eff.org/deeplinks/2016/12/trump-and-his-advisers-net-neutrality

>Whoever Trump picks to lead the FCC in the next administration, there’s ample reason to believe that net neutrality will be under threat.

>science is real
>gender is a social construct

>nobody should own guns besides the police
>cops are racist killers hunting down blacks in the street

>you're born gay or straight
>I'm a woman now because feelings

wow still no proof of current violations or throttling whatsoever. I'm convinced

This is about net neutrality, buddy, filling your need to be contrarian about irrelevant topics here makes you look stupid

>I'm going to play dumb so he can't prove my point wrong
>checkmate

>government spying is bad and Trump is a literal dictatorship
>let's give him more control over the internet

>makes outlandish claim with zero evidence to back it up
>OMG NET NEUTRALITY IS KILL THIS IS THE ENDING

>control in the sense of not allowing ISPs to throttle websites
>THE GOVERNMENT IS CORRUPT

>not allowing ISPs to do something they currently don't do

If you can't take the eff serious you're beyond hope

They're currently not allowed because trump hasn't killed net neutrality yet smartass

The same EFF that was adamantly against TPP?

>killing something that was never enforced

Hahaha are you shilling TPP

Nice strawman. Nobody is saying any of that.
This is a bad a thing, yet you keep defending it because not being in agreement with all of Trump's retarded decisions somehow makes you a SJW Tumblirte trans feminist.

>"sucking dick is not gay if it's Trump's dick"

That should be Sup Forums's motto.

They are...

No im not you dumb nigger, I was against it and so was mein fuhrer Trump

>wah I need the government to save me because I'm too stupid to circumvent trivial hypothetical strawmen
