Built in 1960s

Why can't Euros build more villages like this instead of the commie blocks?

Because urban construction is dictated by capitalists and they want to make densely packed vertical neighborhoods because it's cheap and efficient.

I see. That town seems dense tho, not as dense as a commie block but also not as sparse as dead suburb.

Commie blocks are primarily dictated and built by the (often socialist) state though.

because the rules of life are the rules of capitalism since the 2000s here

hows life in the palestine?

commie blocks are the future, embrace them

I just discovered that town, nice
Also this coast is touristic and expensive as fuck, they probably don't want to scare rich visitors with fugly commieblocks

But commie blacks started to appear before 2000s

And life in Palestine is not that bad, but not good
Also commie blocks

I was surprised it existed at such modern date in Europe. But at the same time puzzled since it is in France and the period it was built in was also the period of the rise of commie blocks. As for money, houses don't seem that expensive to build to me, at least material and space wise. Perhaps location, but if such aesthetic approach can be done why not repeat it in cheaper locations?

Good for the corrupt politicians who get all the money from foreign aid and awful for the rest

Well by expensive I mean the whole area, the French Riviera is known for its luxury even, this town is near Saint Tropez which in France is a rich people's place in everyone minds. So even if the houses don't look like expensive villas I'm pretty sure not everyone could afford one of those

I see, the architect who did the project also did the interesting part of Beirut renovation. He seems like a man who appreciated pleasant looking spaces.

>period it was built in was also the period of the rise of commie blocks
Also known as the period of explosive population growth and urbanisation. Horizontal towns don't scale well, and major cities are fucking big. Apartment buildings are necessary to maintain short horizontal distances by stacking people vertically. The point was to 'contain' the population explosion, which produced buildings that are literally human containers: a three dimensional grid design that's fast and cheap to build, creating an urban environment that is really difficult to traverse within the neighborhoods themselves because of the verticality.

another pic

Well yes, but how about modern days? Population is in decline and wealth is increasing.

Bumpinos

Rather than accept and face the consequences of population decline, developed states import laborers from high birth rate countries or spend far too much effort trying to convince citizens to have more children. And since commieblocks have proven to be so cheap and effective, why build regular houses? "Fuck the people", thinks the local politician as he shakes hands with construction company representatives in his luxurious and secluded villa.

...

Yeah that's really nice indeed
Lots of colours on the Mediterranean shores

are those cisterns/water tanks on all the roof tops?

Noice. At least the coastal villages are being preserved.

>finland saying real things and not memes

pls finland I just want to live in a cozy meme world

Yes, to guarantee running water all the time since Israel confiscates most of our underground water, and Oslo accords pretty much fucked our water rights in the ass and due to that average settler gets +70x times more water than West Bankers.

I'm glad our coast wasn't raped like the Spanish Costa del Sol
Well we have some ugly stuff like Ajaccio in Corsica but they are mostly exceptions

>Yarkon-Taninim Aquifer
>It is used by Israel for roughly 340 million cubic meters of water every year and for the Palestine the use approximately 20 million cubic meters a year.
Damn that's rough.

Damn, that location is so nice it is making the commie blocks look somewhat agreeable!

If you open up a shop for water cisterns or satellite dishes you must get rich.

Fully agreed ;_;

It's an aerial shot, those tend to be deceiving.

>satellite dishes
No longer the case, it was the rage in mid 90s and made several people rich.

>Water cisterns
And add solar water heating since it was mandated by the law in the days of Israel and it carried on.

Yeah the island is beautiful at least so I wouldn't mind living in one of those, I could escape in the mountains when I would like

It is not that bad street level wise either.

That scenery makes me want to go hiking until my knee dislocates.

It's not that bad sure, it's just that it could be better

Fuck. Corsica is almost twice the size of WB with tenth of the population :DD

I don't think there are a few mountains left untouched here without a Palestinian town or Israeli settlement on it.

I agree, it is also very pleasant to see some form of building zoning and the hilltop is almost empty, here it would be riddled with houses even illegal ones if it was outlawed.

Corsica is basically mountains rising from the sea tb.h, there is very few plain

Excellent.

Yep it's the perks of 1rst world countries (no offense intended)

This the most famous hiking trail of the island if you can do it one day en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GR_20?oldformat=true

Non taken, I realize we are shit tier when it comes to building codes or laws in general.
Are these islands in Corsica as well?

Yep they are, it's a tower left by the Genoese when the island was still under Italian rule
There are a lot of them

Are Corsican people related to Sardinians?

I just checked quickly and every single one of those houses is 1.5M+

Some yeah, mostly in the south of the island. The Corsi are said to come from Sardinia and settled in Corsica, giving their name to the island too
It's probably more complicated than just this but yeah they have links

>commie blocks are the future, embrace them
Only proper answer. No other building can survive nuclear blast.

I see

That's pretty reasonable given the location tbqh. It is a waterfront property on the most sought after coastline in the world.
