Redpill me on refurbished tech

Should you buy it? Do you risk getting a defective product?

I'm considering getting a refurbished macbook pro from the refurbished apple store instead of a new one as you save around $300, which isn't negligible considering the price of a macbook

Do it OP, I'm on a refurbished macbook air from 2011, still going strong

>some fat fuck used your keyboard right after he furyously masturbated to gay porn

>not factory resetting the keyboard
kys

Go for it op!

I think they systematically replace the outer shell, maybe that includes the keyboard too. Still, there could be some jizz encrusted under the keys

>Do you risk getting a defective product?
return it you stupid retarded nigger faggot

That's too bad, because the first thing I always do with a used laptop is remove all the keycaps and lick the switches.

>Having PC components that someone else has used

Literally an eCuck

pretty much everything i own except for my monitor and hdds is used/refurb. you can get great deals on old cpus/gpus/laptops, and if someone sells you garbage you have months to get a refund through ebay/paypal. i haven't had any issues yet tho.

It's not much different from buying a used car, especially as a student I think it's a decent alternative

I have a second hand laptop. Replaced the hard drive and battery. And done.

I actually think you get more assurance that it works when it's refurbished. If it's a box new one, chances are no one's ever checked it even works, but if it's a refurbished one, it's gone through repairs already so probably everything's been tested.

Having an OS that someone else has compiled

Literally an eCuck

My tablet is refurbished, still working great and I got it 3 years ago.

funnily enough my case is refurbished, but it's 100% perfect and isn't missing any accessory.

just because it said so it costed 40% less. If they charged full price for it I'd have believed it was a new item.

not everyone splooges on their computer to blacked.com you fucking degenerate.

It's a gamble, sometimes they work great, sometimes they are utter shit.

If you a refurb macbook test it hard the first few days, stress test the machine, check temps, check fans. Give it several charge cycles, test the battery, check the screen for imperfections and hard drive performance.

If you buy a refubished mac, it's pretty much a new machine as they replace the casing (and by extension, the display/keyboard/touchpad since it's built in to the casing) and battery

>2006-2015
>trackpad impossible to click near upper edge
>extremely loose near bottom edge
>overall flimsy diving board piece of shit
>even applel admitted it's shit and went back to solid non-click touchpads

>if you press too lightly or too hard it does something completely different than what you intended
>shit tier 1mm travel chiclet kb
>OSX is a steaming pile of shit with horrendous battery management
>applel's solution is to cram in a massive heavy 95WHr battery to make up for it
>even XXXTREME GAMER cancer like razer blade with 4X the CPU/GPU power and 70WHr battery matches it in battery life in same tasks
>gets BTFO by 55WHr Yoga 2 in battery life in same tasks
>the battery takes up the space where a cooling system would've been in a laptop not designed by the world's thinnest and lightest gay hipsters
>overheats constantly from abysmal crippled cooling system
>throttles to 800mhz due to chronic overheating problems
>retina meme for "pros" have have gloss mirror coating impossible to use with overhead lighting
>blurry as shit retina meme scaling
>shitbook air even worse with glossy 1366x768 TN eye cancer

Can we finally put an end to this meme?

I don't like apple much; hence it isn't capitalized.
But this copy/paste isn't helping anything.

For $300 you can get a x220+usb mouse+usbDrive+8GB ram {16GB can but depends on how much you're fucked over, at least not apple style ;^)} + new battery

>See how shitty my criticism was? now compare :^)

Okay I have a problem; I don't like commercials, not even if they might ride up my ass in an enjoyable way... One time == maybe okay, 2 time == ewww creep, 3++==copy/paste mongoloid.

Official refurbs are fine. Not sure what happened with but the chance of any issues is very low. I have a refurb iPad Air 2 and, except for "certified refurb" on the box, it was absolutely indistinguishable from a new one.

They replace the battery and outer shell in the case of iThings. I can't confirm whether the same is the case for Macs.

not even a mac guy but most of this is grade-A bullshit
