>Convince Me to Leave Windows
Why would i?

Ehh, I tried using Arch before, I just have no clue where to start whenever I boot into it (Just the shell)

I don't know, if you don't want to help though you could just not post.

After Ubuntu dropped support for Unity, I'm left still considering Windows 10 Enterprise. The other option, for me, is to keep Arch (i3). I only cared for Ubuntu (Unity) and Arch. Gnome is not something I'd install.

Try manjaro

Use Ubuntu MATE. It just werks.

Okay, is Unity really that big of a deal breaker though?

KDE Neon trust me it werks good as arch but installation is next, next, next type

Oh yeah, I heard of Manjaro, I'll check it out now.

kys

You probably want to install a desktop environment and launch it at startup.

Arch isn't meant to force you to use a shell.
It's meant to give you free choice in whatever shell, window manager or desktop environment you like the most.

Oh that looks nice, thanks

Are you too cool to use ubuntu, OP?

Don't know how you expected me to answer this one fella.

You are just an idiot who wants to be spoonfed, rather check distrowatch for a minute. Literal idiot. Stay on W10, that's made for your kind.

Jesus Christ some of you need a hug, just asking for a lil' advice, no need to be a little bitch about it.

>Linux
>just werks
Pick one.

Check out some of the shit on reddit.com/r/unixporn . If you like what you see, and want to waste your time copying something, then switch to linux. Otherwise, stick with windows. There is literally no reason to switch besides making your desktop look pretty.

Manjaro has long been rendered obsolete

Install Cinnamon Mint.

You can look it up on the arch wiki or open up the install/readme.txt that's on the default current directory when you boot using the Arch install disk

freedom

>Also which distro?
Linux Mint if you don't know what you are doing, Debian if you are feeling adventurous and Arch if you want to have an excuse for saying that "Linux is needlessly difficult", and Gentoo if you want to compile everything by yourself

>Thanks.
you are welcome

>Enterprise
For home use? wut

Why you want people to convince you to move to other OS?
Are you some kind of a manchild without your own opinion?
Do people need to help you go through life?

OK, I'll help you, manchild.
Ask yourself
>Do I play video games?
>Do I need some kind of software which is windows only and I just can't use virtual machine for this?
If you answered 'yes' to any of two questions, then don't use linux.

If, on the other hand you don't care about either of questions, then install ubuntu, fedora or openSuse.
Don't get memed in arch or gentoo as a newcomer...

> videos games (get an xbox)
> windows only software (install wine)

Windows 10 Enterprise N LTSB is basically the best version of Windows. No Windows Store, no Apps, no Edge, no Windows Media Player, even has the old calculator. It's by far the best option if you really want Windows.

p.s. you know you can try linux distributions from live USB?
Or by installing in virtual machine?

don't

media consumption on linux is utter shit

>get an xbox

Come on... some ordinary people really don't need knowing stuff like wine and not everyone has consoles...
To someone who doesn't know much about computers and works mostly with software like photoshop, wine could be confusing...
They'll get frustrated with linux and we'll get more "Linux sucks" threads here.
Fuck that.

Why is that? What do you need besides MPV?

to fit in on Sup Forums
arch or gentoo

Some people do more than watch Chinese cartoons.

Such as?
