What in the fuck is all this shit?

Its like they trying to obfuscate what they're doing.

>A FUCKING LEAF

it's called a javascript minifier

that my friend is non-free javascript

The purpose is for script to be executed quicker not to hide it's purpose.

btw are there any descriptions what js from google exactly does?

Literally only exists for obfuscation. They think that, with all the rest of the data they're having to serve, the returns and spaces are going to be noticed by either the server or the receiver?

It's fine.

It's literally for the purpose of obfuscation

well I mean, they deal in negligible upgrades. optimization isn't for the users.

When you serve as many people as Google, 1 byte per page can be a lot of bandwidth.

>adblock plus
Install uBlock Origin or kys

fucking Richard Stallman what a fat manchild

what is the advantage

>what is minification
>what is bandwidth

just put it in an js-formatter and read it

"a JavaScript program which measures half a megabyte, in a compacted form that we could call Obfuscript because it has no comments and hardly any whitespace, and the method names are one letter long. The source code of a program is the preferred form for modifying it; the compacted code is not source code, and the real source code of this program is not available to the user."

gnu.org/philosophy/javascript-trap.html

that's not a minifier, it's an obfuscator. Minifiers take out all the whitespace, but leave the rest of the code as is. That is not the case in OP's pic

this

Richard Stallman > The Queen > Dogshit > (You)

Less intensive on cpu and I think they ppl that made abp whitelist some sites

Hmm. Interdasting.

>leave the rest of the code as is
Yeah because making all function names 1 byte long saves no space at all right?

but the point of a minifier tool is to make the code smaller, while preserving all information. An obfuscator removes information like function names

they are

Pretty sure they use Closure Compiler or something similar. The main goal is optimization.

>the point of a minifier tool is to make the code smaller, while preserving all information
Bullshit, the word is never used that way.

The point of a minifier is to make the code as small as possible while retaining binding compatibility. Readability or information loss is perfectly acceptable.

code.jquery.com/jquery-3.2.1.min.js
has pretty much only single byte variable names for instance.

It doesn't block the ads. It only hides them. This way, the websites still think you displayed the ad and get money. It's the ethical choice.

This is 100% lie that can easily disputed by opening up the requests list while ublock is on.

oy vey who told you about this button?

>Lying to websites
>ethical
Isn't this fraud?

Hello, retard.

Canadacucks please leave

Stop spreading lies:
github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Does-uBlock-block-ads-or-just-hide-them?

No but that guy is lying to you about how ublock works to begin with.

That's a real nice picture of the Queen, fucking saved.

Nah, just to save bandwidth.

>giving websites ad money
>ethical
There's nothing ethical about ads, user.

It's like you're mentally retarded.

I would like to point that one could minimize or obfuscate this code as much as one wanted and it could still be free software if the original source code was available in plain text.

fucking replyfags should fucking kill themselves

>People that use the reply system should harakiri
>Uses the reply system herself

In plain text and free license*

A single reply, or even two replies is reasonable. Replying to more than 3 fucking posts is retarded

The people who make ABP do whitelist a lot of sites. But you can disable it. They even announce it ffs.

You're a fool for not running both together, CPU usage isn't even relevant unless you're on a toaster.

Not an argument.

>You're a fool for not running both together,
No you'd be a fool to run both together. You completely negate the advantage of ublock origin in the first place. They both use the same blocklists and have virtually identical functionality

t. filthy communist

is that what her majesty's programmed with?

Optimized javascript. Reduced the file size sent across the network

ublock does some things differently, for example it catches some redirects while ABP does not.

There's nothing being negated unless you're still on about that MUH CPU USAGE MEME, and if you are, just quit it.

If not then tell me more about the advantages of uBlock that aren't just the cpu usage meme.

t. brainwash loving retard

ublock is very similar to requestpolicy but it also has the ability to parse adblock lists. It can be set to block far more than adblock plus or it can just block the same things that adblock plus blocks. By default it actually blocks more than adblock plus because it comes preloaded with more lists. Adblock plus only comes with easylist I believe.

Aside from that there's also the fact that it uses less memory and less CPU. Also the interface is somewhat nicer imo. Oh and also it will actually be compatible with firefox 57+

Good goy. 5 shekels have been deposited on your account.

AB+ with its adblock element hider addition is nice for manually fixing some things not caught by the lists generated by others.

>Firefox 57+
What are they doing to kill AB?
They'll probably kill themselves. They already went cuntmode and copied Chrome's UI. I can see tons moving if they actually kill ABP without heavy modding.

>allowing ad scripts to run is ok as long as you don't see them

>2017
>not running your scripts through an obfuscating minimizer so that Pajeets can't steal it

But ublock has an element hider integrated.

>What are they doing to kill AB?
ABP on firefox is a classic addon, it uses older APIs do do stuff. In 57 Mozilla will block access to these APIs on the stable channel so addons using these APIs will be permanently broken. Before that happens the devs want to port the chrome version of ABP to firefox but the chrome version isn't as powerful apparently and they'll have to fix some things
