Socialism at its finest.

Hey I see you found us from Reddit! Hope you enjoy your stay buddy, make sure to blog about us on your tumblr.

Nice trips.
I think Venezuela is a shithole but what if this whole Latin American shift towards US friendly governments is really orchestrated by the US to fuck us over and benefit the jews?
I want to believe that we'll become more prosperous but what if history repeats itself and we get fucked again? Then we'd get another shitty populist government which will inevitably fail and be replaced with a neoliberal government which will fuck us over again and this cycle will go on ad infinitum.

I'm skeptic about the world in general so idk.

Are there any prosperous countries in South America?

No. Any country with a large portion of brown people is a shithole.

why are whites so fucking stupid

That explains why the UK is so shit

>Venezuela
>white

South America will never change and became developped because as long as they blame the US for anything commie always get support no matter how retarded and corrupt they are.

Ah, I see, that must be why Korea doesn't allow Thais and Viets to have any say in internal politics

I hope you're wrong, frogfriend.
I'm learning French so, if shit hits the fan, I'll probably be your nouveau voisin :^)

You're not white either.

Not brown as well

Tbh they've been under pro-US governments for almost their entire history and look where that's gotten them.

>his country is a shithole on the brink of civil war
>alright let's move to fucking france of all places
lmao why

if you were a jew in 1935 you'd be like alright let's leave poland and emigrate to germany

kek

Still salty cuz of Falklands War?

Liberalism is what made Chile what is Chile today. You may like it or not, but the Chicago boys are responsible for its development.

This. Numbers confirm.

Government intervention in the economy is the worst thing that can happen to a country. Just look at venezuela or Argentina.

KARL MARX GOOD BOY DINDU NUFIN

Neoliberalism and liberalism are different things. Neoliberalism is currently the cancer eating away at the middle class and eroding democracy the world over.

>The Chicago boys
Wtf are you talking about? They where pretty shitty

>but what if this whole Latin American shift towards US friendly governments is really orchestrated by the US to fuck us over and benefit the jews?

To be fair, if I was in CIA, I would play candy crush everyday.

Jews before reds

MILTON FREIDMAN DINDU NUFFIN HE JUS ABOUT TO GET HIS LIFE ON TRACK

>some people are getting richer
>everyone else is almost equal
sounds like communism to me

Ur a cheeky cunt I'll give ya that m8.

>Neoliberalism and liberalism are different things
Please explain.

>the Guardian
>openly defends PT in Brazil
Top kek. Even a moderate sources would defend the major role that liberals had in Chile's development.

I don't know why, but in the first second after seeing that flag I thought you were some southern American country.

damn son

>the countries where those 62 people live are by far the most desirable places to live in the world
>but they have TOO MUCH MONEY so that makes them BAD

Commies are dumb.

>In a note to the CIA, advising them on how to undermine the Allende government, Henry Kissinger wrote succinctly: ‘Make the economy scream’. Former us officials are openly admitting today that the same strategy is applied in Venezuela: former us Secretary of State Lawrence Eagleburger said of the Venezuelan economy on Fox News: ‘It’s the one weapon we have against [Chavez] to begin with, and which we should be using, namely the economic tools of trying to make the economy even worse, so that his appeal in the country and the region goes down’.

Neoliberalism is a subset of liberalism. Liberalism is just the generic term for liberal democracy, but within such a society there's room for social democracy, Keynesianism, libertarianism, and all sorts of subsets of liberal capitalism.

Neoliberalism is characterized by extreme right wing economic policies leading to inequality and poverty and internationalism expressed through free trade deals that erode sovereignty.

Liberalism is fine because it's open to more sane policies, neoliberalism is right wing nonsense invented by international plutocrats to destroy democracy and inflate ther profits.

Old answer for the same question.

...

I ain't taking no fucking refugees.

You realize that this amount of wealth concentrated in the hands of so few is not only extremely destructive to economies according the IMF, but is a serious threat to freedom and democracy right? Power corrupts user, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

>Liberalism is just the generic term for liberal democracy
Lol are you really trying to conflate liberalism with democracy?

"Liberal democracy" as in western polyarchy yes.

>fox news

good goy.

The IMF itself is destructive to economies and a serious threat to freedom and democracy.

You are talking about consequences, not policies/ideals. It is like saying that X -> poverty, Y -> wealth and therefore I prefer Y.

I would rather prefer to have the diferences in policies between X and Y.

Regarding policies I align a lot with Friedman's ideas, including less "libertarian ones" such as the negative income tax. Am I a liberal or a neoliberal?

Exactly, and even they admit that trickle down economics is complete bullshit.

Is Colombia going to build a wall?

I know you're being sarcastic, but sadly this is how communism works in practice

Build a wall. Make Colombia great again (thoigh its pretty good right now)

How so? What does IMF do?

>Regarding policies I align a lot with Friedman's ideas, including less "libertarian ones" such as the negative income tax. Am I a liberal or a neoliberal?

Don't know, I don't know enough about Friedman's ideas apart from his pro-market stance. But neoliberalism is generally associated (at least in my mind) specifically with the deregulation of the economy, the hollowing out of social programs, and support for free trade.

on the plus side it'll be easier to get a brown gf

>(thoigh its pretty good right now)

Funny thing is, if you are a kid your chances of not starving are better in Venezuela (or ecuador actually).

Things likely would have turned out differently if there had actually been democratic mechanisms in place to ensure that the state was responsive to the interests of the people. After all, it's much easier to fight corruption when you can just vote comrade Breshnev out of office.

Leader of this country is an idiot. He declared 2-day workweek to save electricity. His decisions are literally killing the country. Maybe NATO could remove him and install there somebody with brain to help these poor people.

Too late Daniel. There are already 600k venezuelans taking our jobs. Just last week I went to a job interview, we were 15 candidates and 2 of them were venezuelans.

One of them got the job and there were only 3 job openings.

>deregulation of the economy, the hollowing out of social programs, and support for free trade.
I agree with all these policies. However I would prefer a "unified" and efficient social program like the negative income tax rather than no program.

It's a gathering dominated by the world's richest nations that essentially engineers favourable economic conditions for themselves and bullies everybody else into accepting it. They often use debt as a weapon, getting countries to sign unfair deals and when they inevitably default on their loans the IMF swoops in and basically reposses their country and tells them how they can and can't run it.

Doesn't sound very democratic to me.

Your child poverty rate is higher than Venezuela?

>I agree with all these policies.

These policies have caused unprecedented income inequality, the hollowing out of demosestic manufacturing leading to the severe decline in both the number and quality of jobs, the destruction of the middle class, and the increased political power of multinational corporations and plutocrats at the expense of democratically elected governments.

COMMIE GET OUT REEEEEEEEEEe

>600k
to much RCN for you.

way higher, our inequality is worse, in some cities getting gas is a fucking problem. But you wont see that on CNN.

They could always use black magic to bring Chavez back.

Kek

Wasn't Chavez a president of Venezuela when oil price was around 120 dollar per barrel? I think that it was easier for this country to prosper with huge stream of petrodollars

The history is crystal clear. No country has become developed without large amount of free trade/markets.

Also, about inequality, old bud goldie:
youtube.com/watch?v=rv5t6rC6yvg

Fucking rekt

It's the colors senpai. You look like a vertical Colombia desu.

The IMF is just a glorified mafia. Thanks for detailed explanation bud.

H-he'll be gone next year....
Oh shit i didnt knew that. At least theres not as much cartel violence as before (i hope im not wrong on that).

Dude I live in Bogota and see venezuelans on a daily basis. I just can't imagine how it might be in Bucaramanga, Cucuta and other cities closer to the border.

There's more inquality over here than in venezuela but the poverty rate is way lower. Child starvation is an issue especially in Choco and Guajira departments, more specifically among indigenous tribes as they expect the goverment to give them everything and won't move a finger to find a job or get food.

They would rather use black magic to bring the oil prices back.

Yes, on top of that oil exports represent 96% of their revenue. They're one of the least diversified countries on earth.

You can keep posting Maggie all you want but the thing is that top economists (even those working for the IMF) recognize the danger of destroying the middle class. Who is going to buy all those products if nobody can afford them?

Free markets may be fine for developing countries but in developed countries your consumer base has to be firmly consolidated. You do that with social programs, sensible regulation, strong unions to keep wages high, and strong barriers in place to keep big money out of politics.

It was the oil that gave the dipshit the confidence to get the country into his commie shenanigans.

The problems came from way before, but shit really hit the fan when oil crashed

That probably had a lot more to do with their country going into the shitter than "lol commies r dumb"

Cartel violence still exist but is not as bad as in Mexico. it is heavily concentraded in cities on the pacific coast, so the average colombian living in big cities or small towns in other regions is not affected by this kind of violence.

They stole our flag and left it under the sun for a bit too long.

Is the same shit with different names.

We had the cartels, then the paras and the guerrillas, now we have bacrims, the cocaine is still being produced, and the big deal now is the illegal mining.

Satan checked

yeah don't worry kid, you are safe in your private high school.

can someone please explain to me in simple words what is happening in venezuela and why?

Their economy was almost entirely built on oil. Oil prices went into the shitter and everything went south. Also sanctions from the U.S. and a lot of ther commie policies make it hard to invest there so it's difficult for them to get out of it.

- Highest inflation in the world
- Second highest murder rate after El Salvador
- Shortage of basic good (food, hygiene products, medicines)
- Electricity rationing
- Rampant crime
- Worthless currency

Quick tl;dr

>Be country with a fuckton of oil
>Literally 93% of your exports are oil or derivates
>Commie gets into power
>Country has a lot of money from oil so he starts giving free stuff to everyone (even foreigners like us)
>Oil crashes
>Economy crashes
>No more free food
>No more food at all

Even before the drop of oil prices there were regular shortages of everyday goods. Toilet paper is the most famous one.

See
You can't attribute all of it to ruling party incompetence.

There's no toilet paper, razors, condoms, painkillers, etc... People are literally dying in hospitals as some medicines are impossible to find.

Yes you can.
Russia is under sanctions by USA and west europe, but they manage to not let their people starve, atleast not on the same level.

Blaming USA for a failing socialist regime is like blaming democracy for terrorist acts.

You can't justify this.

No matter what, you just can't.

It seems that military Coups are not cool anymore. But they still have the touch, is the second L.A president that they are going to take down this month.

death is overall benefitial to undeveloped countries

This is why you should never trust money.

Cant eat money, cant build a bridge out of it, cant build a shelter out of it, literally zero usage value.

Just hoard canned food, copper, zinc, consumer electronics, etc. These things have practical, usage value, and can not fail, not even during economic crash.
Piling a lifetime of food is really easy to do in this day and age as well. I unironically intend to build myself something like a bunker, and maybe retire in it when I am done working.

Socialism happen
Socialism fail

>if you are a kid in the Guajira
Fixed that for you, indio

you can always invest in gold, since even with economical crash gold value would still be more or less the same

Seems like a horrible idea basing a entire economy on a single commodity.

so what would save venezuela? how to make venezuela great again (or for the first time)?

well being a kid in the streets of Bogota, Medellin or Cali is better because you wont starve, there are like 10 other ways to die faster there.

A) Russia has a MUCH bigger, stronger, and far more diverse economy.

B)Russia is a shithole and gets shittier by the day.

C) You actually can blame democracy for terrorism because democratic western countries keep bombing the Middle East and provoking terrorist actions.

Absolutely nothing can save Venezuela.
If they ever get out of the meme hole that is socialism, their country would take decades to fix itself into a decent state.
