It's difficult for me to answer this one. I don't know so much about these countries. There plenty of guest workers from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan here.

Not so religious. Very few girls wear hijab. Hijabs are prohibited in schools. Almost all of girls has premarital sex.
I can't say Kazakhs drink a lot, buy they bear an alcohol much worse then Russians do so they can become drunk after even a moderate doze.

Yes, I think they are very close except for some national differences. There are many Ukrainians who moved here during WWII. Poles are not so abundant, but many of Russians have Poles in their line.

East is OK. I like its nature, it's nice there. I was in Taldykorgan only on my way to Alakol, but I really liked the view from my car's window.

Well I'm not sure there are any of stereotypes. You know, Kazakhs are really close to another -stans, so there is no room for such things.
