False analogy.

Fucking RMA yourself you literal like bastard. I hope you die alone with a heart full of nothing but regret.

Another one of these shitty threads.
Sage in all fields.

Stop touching my penis

Don't mind me, just generating revenue.

Don't mind me, just running nonfree javascript on your computer without your consent.

If the ads never reach me they were never meant for me :^)

What did he mean by this?

>"Deactivate the ad blocker"

ring a ding dong sir please we have found malware on your windows 10 computer please allow remote access so we can remove and install certified microsoft antivirus before its too late

Donations are the future.

Better analogy
Leaving your wallet on a bar counter on purpose and then getting mad when it gets stolen.
Also, I'm not blocking ads, I'm just not requesting them.

>he thinks ads are effective when people don't want to watch them

Sorry, I don't see the analogy. Unless the guy whose wallet is being stolen has leprosy.

It's actually more like burning money

Who is ad-block taking money from, the advertisers?
It saves the companies money because nobody with a brain clicks on fucking ads anyways.

Does anyone have a figure for how much of the total bandwidth of the internet is nothing but ads? Interesting thought.

I'm not blocking ads, I'm blocking JavaScript :-)

don't mind me, just stealing some money

I think adblocking did enough to spoil online ads that the majority remaining are well behaved, at least on the sites I visit. As such I don't use one anymore and get to shave some time off of browser load times.

Apparently we sometimes need to fight the bullshit to chase it away.

DON'T MIND ME JUST TRYING TO SELL MY PRODUCT HELLO CAN YOU HEAR ME

That must be the shit that on rt and other news sites that rapes my old turion laptop.

Nobodies forcing you to view them, if you don't want to see them view someone else's content.

>Crossing thumbs

I wish he would fire it while holding it like this.

gnu.org/philosophy/words-to-avoid.html#Content

Don't mind me, just muting my TV during the ads.

>gnu.org/philosophy/words-to-avoid.html#Content
That is one of the more autistic things I have read in a while

Don't mind me, just making sure that sponsored content and viral marketing prevail over actual designated ads

>Nobodies forcing you to view them, if you don't want to see them view someone else's content.
Nobodies forcing you to put 3rd party ads on your website, if you can't make enough money then find another line of work.

Don't mind me, I don't give a fuck about your revenue stream and if we met in person I'd gouge out your eyes and refill the sockets with your severed testes for posting this thread.

Feels good knowing my ad blocking is hurting the bottom line of scummy advertising and tracking companies.

Viewing a page with ads on it does not affect my finances in any way, beyond what I already pay for internet and electricity. So not only is the claim that they're "entitled to my money for viewing their page" nonsensical, it's even more nonsensical to claim that blocking ads is "denying them payment", when viewing ads does not give them any payment either. All that it's doing is choosing not to download potential malware.

Nvm installing gentoo

Edgy.

>slightly reducing the income of botnet enablers is edgy

Internet Ads used to be a way to just compensate traffic / hosting costs, nobody ever had the audacity to even dream about making a living out of it.
This is one of the reasons the internet became so utter shit in the last one and half decades, a hobbyist medium bastardized to oblivion.

>resting your thumb on the slide

>reading russian propaganda

>Don't mind me, just skipping these ads

Don't mind me, just shitting up the board.

Post your AdNauseum vaults and watch the botnet bleed.

How is using Ad Nauseum better than just blocking ads?

>2017
>watching TV

AdNauseum actively clicks every ad, supposedly confusing tracking algorithms and hurting the ad business.

Wouldn't that actually help them since clicks is what they need?

It helps the site the ad is on, but costs the advertiser money for a click with no conversion.

But there is much better porn now, so I don't want to go back

I have mixed emotions about this. While I'll agree to not liking ads, they are necessary for the Internet to exist. I don't mind a few ads here or there. What I do mind is when websites have 40 on one page, make a one page article into 14 for more ads, and the tracking. If there was a happy middle ground, there wouldn't be the need for an ad-blocker.

>they are necessary for the Internet to exist.

So, you'd pay for every site you visit?

Once upon a time websites were run as a hobby.

Of course not. Are you claiming that the internet wouldn't exist without privacy-invading ads everywhere? Sure, a lot of shitty sites would go away. That's not really a bad thing desu sempai

I know nothing about guns. What would happen?

>they are necessary for the Internet to exist
Not really.I can't think of a single site with quality content that uses ads.

Or you don't see them because of your adblocker?
What about Sup Forums?

So it was made by site owning jews. Gotcha.

just checked
only 4chang has ads and I block those because the chinese man acts like a jew

>Sup Forums
Notice he said quality content.

Name one "good" site without any ads whatsoever that isn't some sort of marketplace.

Name one without ads that isn't a marketplace.

it's like you only visit porn sites or something

look up literally any site about scientific or hobbyist shit and you won't see a single ad

google.com

The homepage may not but they almost always slip an ad in at the top of the search results. I don't know if they still do but there used to be ads alongside the search results too.

>make a service or product good enough for people to pay for
>don't have to put adds up because I can charge a fee
or
>go for the biggest customer base I can, forcing people to filter out a bunch of shit they don't want
>put adds on because people aren't willing to pay for my shit service, but will use it so long as it's "free" to use
>people figure out how to automatically filter those out
Those thieving assholes!

Some websites are so bad they barely function without an adblocker.

fbi.gov

If you use a service that has ads and you try to avoid them in any way, you are stealing their revenue. You should just discontinue using the service if you don't want to deal with the ads.

Maybe they should just find a more viable business model.

>he doesn't read every kind of propoganda to get a broader perspective

>make a useful thing
>charge money for it
>people who don't want to pay for it end up pirating it, meaning you don't get money

>make a useful thing
>use ads to make money while making it free
>people who don't like ads end up blocking them, meaning you don't get money

both situations are pretty much win/lose situations

>he does it for free

or simply decide what data you wanna look at on your own computer

Me on the right

this

holy shit

fucking youtubers.

FIND A REAL FUCKING JOB YOU FUCKING WHINNY BITCHES

>make useful thing
>give a crippled version for free
>sell more complete version
>everyone wins
oh, you make videos of your retarded face playing games or whatever, and publish them on youtube? FUCK YOU

If the ads were free software then I assume they would load. Otherwise LibreJS will block them.

If ads weren't malicious you might have an argument.
It's just the world we live in.

and at the end of the day people are going to pirate the complete version

because fuck you

>owning information
keep it secret if you don't want others to have it,nigga

>what is SaaS
'tard

>demand people look at your ad ridden piece of shit
>surprised when people don't want to look at abhorent popups and garbage

Actually pretty smart

It means he's a cocksucking weaboo faggot.

rip hot dog

>tfw running adnauseam, actively wasting advertisers money

A lot of ads are pay-per-click.

Exactly.

...

>blocking spyware is bad

is this a commie or a capitalist meme? i dont know anything anymore....

>implying anyone actually clicks on ads

Not my job to make sure their ads load properly. Sites can be programmed to refuse access when users have Adblock, so that's their problem if they don't enable it.

>discarding a chunk of incoming data is stealing
Is averting your eyes from an ad in the newspapers stealing as well?

Better analogy would be the man shoving a poster in your face to advertise the latest product.

Blocking ads is like telling the man to fuck off because you are not a mindless consumer.

>they are necessary for the Internet to exist
this is the most retarded thing I've read in a week

False equivalence, content is provided for free with no strings attached. A ToS the user can just ignore is not a binding contract that lets the website do whatever they want.

Adblockers do not actually "block" ads, they simply do not request them. Because of the way HTTP works by default all types of content are "blocked". Web browsers are set to automatically request certain types of content when you stumble upon them but "adblockers" are like taking a second look through the requests before you actually send them. You double check and making sure you actually want the content you're requesting.

As long as HTTP functions based on client requests rather than the server pushing content to the client it will always be possible for the end user to simply not request content they do not want.

>Don't mind me, just serving these ads
Fixed caption to fit the picture.

>carrying hotdog in chest pocket

Do clapistanis actually do this?

Of course not. Don't be fucking dumb.

fuck off, (((((((((((((goldberg))))))))))))))

The slide would fail to cycle properly but that's about it
