The last Microsoft update destroyed mpv playback.
Everything is choppy as fuck now!

The "must have" to create mpv lua plugins/scripts easily:

Not the same thing retard

exactly the same god damn thing dude!

Nope. Open a HTML document in a text editor and then open it in a web browser. Now open a video in mpv and then in the web browser.

lol

Huh. What do you know, you were right. At least the text editor lets me view the contents of the HTML document.
Kindly neck yourself.

Kodi is better, it runs perfectly 4K/HEVC/HDR videos on my $70 512Go/Amlogic/Fanless/ARM based HTPC.

And sline36 upscaling (default mpv one) + sync audio to playback(display-resample) work too.

Bleeding edge distributions are not friendly to your love life. Long live the traffic cone.

lol

You are not kidding anyone.

Is incredibly high CPU usage normal for mpv on a half decent CPU and the decent config? I hadn't checked the perfomance till now and it explains why my computer seems to eat shit whenever I watch a fucking video

>have mac
>have girl over
>fuck and then go to starbucks
Shame you aren't splattering a frappuccino all over a girl boyo~

because im using integrated graphics LOL

I want to thank the user from the previous thread who recommended compton to solve my v-syncing issues.

Why the fuck does mpv need a fucking compositor to avoid tearing?
Is it still needed with wayland?

It's not to avoid tearing. I do not have a problem with that (Option "TearFree" "true", in xorg.conf) It's for fixing frame timing issues when my gpu is above 50-60% usage.

I'll install mpv once it has an installer along with a plugins. KCP was the best.

The default player is shit. I use mpv as an external player with kodi.
