IR blaster

Dislike:
Att version still on 5.1
Screen is grainy at low brightness and lowest brightness is WAY too high
Battery life is shit, 2-3 hours sot on data over a day
Uses the g3 camera which is pretty bad nowadays
Overheats easily in summer and then won't allow you to use full brightness until phone cools down
Seems to be the only recent lg phone that doesn't boot loop (need to justify upgrading to myself)

>For a long time, always-on OK Google would keep turning itself off. This seems to be fixed, last I checked, but now I leave it off because it shares a volume control with games, which I usually want to keep quiet/off

Sleek and durable
Really nice screen
Work fast and smooth

Camera is meh
Additional storage option would be nice

Cheap as fuck

Shit Camera
Windows

Moto Z Play

Cheapish, solid build, smooth near stock Android with good additions, Mod support and amazing battery life.

So-so camera.

galaxy s5

it's got a nice 1080p screen and expandable storage

the camera never ever ever ever focuses, takes like 10 tries to get a nice picture, can't get cyanogenmod or whatever bullshit, for some reason it cannot fucking run snapchat, records stuttering videos in that app every time.

>LG refused to honor my warranty and charged me SEVENTY FIVE UNITED STATES LEGAL CURRENCY to fix the boot loop issue that is the fault of them not soldering down a power connection

Huawei P8

Not a lot. It wasn't cripplingly expensive?

Not good for the price I paid, not a major step up over the Oneplus One that I previously owned. I regret buying it, and it was a waste of money.

iPhone 5s

pros:
>the phone itself is beautiful, even more so with the (((PRODUCT)))RED leather case
>3.5 years old, still gets OS updates
>it works and never fails me

cons:
>mediocre battery life
>can't block ads system-wide and browse files natively

>has every features that a phone truly needs (calling, SMS, camera, music player, calendar, calculator, etc.) built in

Dislike:
>nothing, it's perfect

I used smart phones for years but it wasn't worth it. It's self-deception that you need them because most of their features are completely unnecessary and they have many unpleasant downsides. They get wrecked after 2 years, they lag, they have ads, battery gets empty after a day, etc.

Sign up for the LG G4 bootloop class action lawsuit and make sure you keep all the records/emails/paperwork/documentation from all the shit you've been through and you'll more than likely get at least that money back.

girardgibbs.com/lg-g4-bootloop-class-action-lawsuit/

Don't wait, go fucking sign onto the class action and do it now before it's too late.

Install the app "twilight" just to use for the dimming feature, it can go as low brightness as you like. You're welcome.

ZTE ZMAX PRO
Large screen. Fingerprint scanner. Camera.
Fingerprint scanner fails sometimes not recognizing my fingerprint causing me to readd it. Battery life is mehh for 3400 MaH. The stock android on it is hideous.

>fairphone 2
People ask about it and actually like the conversation since it's more in their realm.
I'm in a situation where I have to interact with a lot of non-tech oriented people and finding common ground for small talk can be difficult, especially when they're the ones that feel it's required. So when they try to approach my side of things by asking what phone I have an easy out to steer away from the technical side which it's easy to get awkward in, depending on the person.
Honestly worth the premium I hypothetically would have paid for this phone (it's more expensive than equivalent phones). But with the use I got from the original it's clearly an economic and convenience win.

I haven't had any real use for modularity beyond what I had back with my galaxy nexus. They're all rather easy to repair. But the fairphone was easier to repair than the galaxy nexus. I can only assume it's even easier with this one.

Original case was pretty damn shit though. The new one they made is way better. But not entirely perfect imo. It keeps the 3.5mm connectors a bit too far out from snapping into place solidly. No issues with the connection beyond the physical practicalities. With the old case you could practically hold the phone from the headphone cord. Now that'd certainly cause the phone to drop. It's occasionally a problem when pushing my phone down into my jeans pocket. Not sure how normal that is for other phones though. Maybe I've been spoiled. The two other phones I've had have been very solid.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Intl.

got it pretty cheap for $140, more than fast enough, 1080p AMOLED display looks amazing and is great for viewing porn, strong CM/LOS support (i have never used to the stock rom)

Wileyfox Swift

Pros:
Cheap as fuck for what you get
Reminiscent of Nexus 5's but supports MicroSDs
Great customization; originally came with CyanogenOS
Dual sim

Cons:
Cheap as fuck because new company and prone to some not-so-good things
Power button and volume button on the same side of the phone
Feels flimsy; weak design
A few times I've casually dropped it on a table and it rebooted

Great all-round phone with a great price.

Great Screen

Cons:
I know it will bootloop soon, I've had mine for 1.5 years now which is much longer than the average. At any given time this thing will die.

Horrible speaker

2GB RAM is certainly on the low side. Supposedly upgradable in China but not worth it to me.

pros:

>very few bugs (compared to my oneplus one)
>dropped so many times but still good no crack

Shit battery

Retarded curve at the top of the screen that serves no purpose but makes glass screen protectors no sit properly

Moto G generation 3

non replaceable, shit battery

iPhone 7

Pros: Nice build quality overall, black looks nice, decent camera, Touch ID, performs well

Cons: iOS, selection of applications compared to Android, lack of 3.5mm jack, battery life is nothing great, looking like a fag, lack of separate volume sliders

The phone itself is pretty nice, but not worth what it costs ultimately. Software side of things really kills it for me

S7 edge
Almost everything, honestly
Accident edge touches happen tho, and it gives me scares when I consider price of replacement screens

Really? mine has been going great on battery life, much better than previous. And never repaired once.
I have a feeling that's more to do with the user than the phone.
everything else seems true though

alcatel pop star 5 or something like that

>tfw my G3 fucked itself up somehow and LG gave me a G5se in return

Šiaomi Redmi 4 pro

Don't like:
- no equalizer for BT
- doesn't remember BT volume settings for individual devices
- no video stabilization
- slippery as fuck when used naked
- no black back version, only gray
- screen brightness sensor works kinda strange

I have a heavily modified modified Nexus 5 running Lineage OS. I soldered the original battery flex cable to an LG G2 3000mAh battery. I also soldered on a 64GB flash chip but the phone would only recognize and write to 32GB of it. So I did some software modifications and used some files from a Nexus 5X to get it to address all 64GB. Now it works fine, even through updates. I think I'll only have problems with major version upgrades, which is still a simple fix of copying and pasting files. Not sure since I've only gone from 7.1.1 to 7.1.2 OTA so far.

There's literally nothing to hate. This is my dream phone.

iPhone SE
>things you like about it
Size, battery life (never had it lasting lesser than 2 days), performance, Continuity, design, iOS got a great workflow most of the time, camera speed, updates, also holy fuck the performance. I guess I could add price since it's dirt cheap compared to other flagships.

>things you hate about it
Bezels are huge, I worry about the loading cable breaking because it did for most of the people I know (then again, they also managed to drop their phones and all) and most importantly: iTunes. This idiotic piece of shit garbage software made by clueless retards blows on almost every level imaginable. It's butthuge, overloaded with crap, takes a while to install even on a SSD and fails at basic shit like copying music from time to time with no decent way to figure out the problem or even fix it. Also it crashes a lot too, even on MacOS.

Moto G4
It was inexpensive and works great
The back cover is getting a little chewed up so I'll probably replace it on the one year anniversary. I wonder if anyone makes neat replacements.

Phone:
Moto Z Force Droid Edition

Positive:
Even after having it since the day it launched it has not slowed down like any of my previous phones. Screen is fantastic and is in-fucking-destructible. Battery life is amazing and fast charge can cap it in about 45-50 minutes.

Negative:
>Droid Edition
Other than dumb Verizon firmware locks the battery mod doesn't keep all the connectors in place anymore (heavy mod use). Plus the triangle circle and square on the bottom are slightly burned in. A few scratches on the screen but if it wasn't "unbreakable" those would be much worse. Oh and no headphone jack

>Moto X style
Like: screen is great, front facing speakers are great for watching things, battery life is god-tier compared to my Nexus 5, gestures for activating things, microSD slot, the bamboo back feels pretty dope, it was cheap as fuck

Hate: display driver crashes now and then, the phone is a bit too big for comfortable one-handed use, the area around the speaker is hard to clean and it collects some dust

pretty much this, although I've never even installed iTunes.
