The framework has native support for webm (and a LOT of other media formats for that matter) because it's essentially Chromium running a ball of HTML and JS, the dev team has already demonstrated it can pull that off with the """gifv""" horseshit (ie. webms served from the imgur domain, serve the same file anywhere else and it magically doesn't work anymore) and you can fucking mod in the support by adding two kilobytes of JS that just makes the file embedder recognize the media files.
I'm calling it, they're making it a paid only feature where only good goys get their videos to embed.
I mean mumble is already a thing and they made a version that runs in a browser but have paused development on it to try to get the next major version out
