they make domestic crime less sensational and overblow crime committed by foreigners/immigrants

Most crime committed in Japan is organized crime. Since yakuza mostly deal with business and keep to themselves, it doesn't seem very prevalent.

Well?

Crime does happen, despite the myth of how safe Japan is. Murder exists, thieves exist, it's just people let their guard down due to the illusion of safety. But overall, Japan is very safe. With common sense and street smarts very few will have encounters with trouble.

I don't know why but that filename made me fucking lose it man.

Answer the fucking question naruto!

The Japanese have secret criminal gangs that the police have no control over. They roam underground tunnels and sneak into people's living spaces unnoticed to retrieve valuables to trade on the black market. They rape women in their sleep. They use the raw flesh of their victims for sushi meat.
